I think Kris Wu will make it in Hollywood someday.

I have no doubt that he will starred in Hollywood movies soon as u said there are more Hollywood/China collaboration projects going on, but how further he can go is another story.

No Asian stars able to get to Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan feat in Hollywood (and gain international recognition as them). And u know y? both of them are known for their martial art skills that they deliver in films --thats what Hollywood and their audiences want from Asian actors. Rain, Lee Byung Hyun and Jang Dong Gun tried but none has make a big impression whatsoever cuz well they don't have " fighting style" that made Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan become a legend as an action actor figures. Thats y, IDT Kris has enough martial art skills even he practiced to go big there.

Maybe he can gain some recognition on level of Zhang Ziyi or Gongli that  gains from Memoirs of Geisha in an international star level. Anyway, who know he may has luck on his side to be BIGGER

his Engrish is tragic tbh. i think he needs to work on that abit more. but why not? idk about big role since minorities barely get any roles and rarely ever play a main role. their usually supportive characters and serve as the token asain guy.

Tbh his english is not really good! and he could starr in a hollywood movie that I don't doubt because hollywood tries to give popular asian actors 3minutes of screentime so that chinese people will watch their movie and make major box-office hit but hit big in hollywood is almost impossible for asians! because hollywood is just like that, racist as fuck!

I wish him good luck tho

He don't need to play in a Hollywood movie tbh bcos he already have Journey to the West (99% of actors would kill to be the lead of this movie and he is the f*cing lead role. He did audition for this and got chosen by China's biggest directors Stephen Chow/Tsui Hark and this shows how good his acting...) This movie will make him really big in China so Idc about Hollywood. To play the lead role in Journey to the West is much more important to have a supporting role in a Hollywood movie.

Besides theseParamount Pictures after Kris and wants to cooperate with him, it's inevitable for him to play in a Hollywood movie, its only a matter of time.

Hol up...all these people talking about Kris' english you know he can speak fluent English right?? stop reaching before your arms fall off.

Anyway, I'd rather have him make it really big in China first tbh before going to hollywood fully. Things like JJTW which is a collab is also fine too but American aren't really acceptive of Asian that much but I love just where he is now.

ALSO I noticed that you're new.. Welcome to OH and to the Kris fanclub!!

Kris' english? Of course he needs abit more time to practice but Im pretty sure he is more fluent then MOST of the other asian actors. Plus he's super hot so I don't think they would care as much about his accent...maybe lol 😋😘

I dont see it. I think he with dry and fixed expression on his face will become nugu soon. I dont think any success will come to him. Just wait.

Lol, you wish. He already has a lead role in a major movie locked for 2017. He's not going away anytime soon.

yes i think  kris can make it in hollywood but he need to fix his english.

His English sucks though.

But... his English is fine. He's fluent. Just because he doesn't have an American accent doesn't mean his English is bad wtf.

This mentality that only speakers with American/English accents are considered good in the language is borderline racist tbh.

I think what you and others have to take into consideration is China's film industry's sudden boom in recent years. That gives China power and influence in the industry and as such would be able to have more leverage in Hollywood projects. China is also gaining more worldwide visibility because of their economic power.

you're overreacting tbh! just because people point out his english is not perfect, you're calling them racist? He's fluent but his english is not perfect and he has an accent, that's true!

China is really booming but I don't see asian actors getting important roles yet! Wang Leehom (if I write his name right) starred in a movie with Chris Hemsworth and said the producers kept asking him to pretend he doesn't speak english fluently and have a funny accent! that is the reality, hollywood is racist! there are going to be more and more chinese actors in hollywood movies tho

I thought Kris was also Canadian, I guess I was wrong since he apparently has an accent.

But if it is the case then some English lessons would be enough. He has everything else. He can get connections, he is also handsome and talented. So yeah. He could make it imo with a little bit of efforts

Do you really not see the racist implications of making fun of the English of people from a different race, especially when it's just about the accent? They didn't just say his English wasn't perfect. They said it was bad and tragic.. because I guess for one's English to be considered good, they have to adopt an American accent rme. One even used the term Engrish which is racist. It's the kind of thing that subtly implies how Americans/Native speakers of the language are seen as superior because they speak the language a certain way while others don't.

It's just hilarious that a lot of people who can speak English and only English and thus are monolingual have the nerve to make fun or see as inferior the multilingual people who do not have the standard American accent when speaking English.

Watch the video. His English is perfectly fine. Just because he does not have an American accent does not make him a bad English speaker.

Well, we are talking about him making it in Hollywood, which is an American production, so.. duh. Isn't it a prerequisite? If you want him to play Asian American, he should sound like one. Unless of course, we are talking about something like "that third from the left Asian dude", then he would be fine.

Also on the topic of his apparent hotness, which will leave Hollywood speechless, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there an issue that Asian guys are not considered attractive (at least conventionally) in American society hence very little coverage and presence in the media?

Bottom line: in regards to him making it or not, a lot will depend upon the type of project he will land in. objectively, chances for the type of thing that is capable of making him big are very small.

There's honestly nothing wrong with his English.  I know people who have English as a first language and still mispronounce things.  Hell, I'm one of them.  Nothing like watching a TV show and hearing an odd word a time or two and then going "Oh crap, that's how that's said?" - I think he has a lot more potential that people want to give him credit for.  People who want to look down on him because of this whole SM trial and stuff.  Why can't you all just let him be him?  He wants to be an actor and he's doing a damn fine job at it.  He's making connections where he needs to and yes, he wants to star in a Hollywood film and I could see him doing it.
