Giving Birth To Yeri (a fanfiction)

Nervousness and sheer joy mingled together in my mind as I lay a careful hand on my swollen stomach. My husband, Seulg, stood up from his position at our kitchen table, tray of half-eaten of pancakes forgotten, to walk over to me and rest a reassuring hand on my shoulder.

"It'll be okay, don't worry" he said "I'll be back early at two for the operation, huh?". He planted a kiss on my forehead before jolting out of our house and to his car in the garage, leather briefcase bouncing up and down against his leg as he walked and his yellow-tipped hair shining underneath the bright March morning sun.

"Yeri" I mouthed to myself with an absent-minded smile, tracing the letters of my son-to-be-born's name on my belly.

My heart has never beaten so fast, my hair was drenched in sweat and clenching tightly to my face. I let out a loud scream in pain as I felt the nurses' hand grab harshly at my limbs, pinning me down. Screeching white-hot pain bursted in every corner of my body and suddenly everything went black. A young baby's crying erupt through the room and I heard a loud slap on flesh.

"It's a girl!" exclaimed the doctor, joy clearly present in his previously gruff voice.

The sun was setting slowly and pleasantly, drenching the city in it's warm golden light. I had one hand on the steering wheel and the other running through Yeri's red gold hair. She flipped her position on the passenger seat so that she was facing me. I take my eyes off  the road for a second  to steal a glance at her and my heart stops just like it always. She was so beautiful, it's ethereal. Her hair shone like a crown under the last rays of sunlight peaking through the window and her eyes glimmer with a youthful sort of mischief.

Finally, I reached the beach and pulled my car over to the parking. The rest of the day was a blissful blur.  We were laughing and running on the beach, our bare feet pushing into the fluffy white sand and occasionally into the turquoise crashing waves. I grab her at her forearms and pin of her down on the ground. She pushes at me and we roll over on the sand, laughing gaily with sweet sweet alcohol blurring the edges of our thoughts. At the end, we are lying by each other, quietly. The beach is near empty now, the stars are shining brightly and the air changed from soft and breezy to uncomfortably humid. My eyes are glued to the velvet darkness of the night sky.

"[insert my real name here]" she moans with aeygo, shaking my body.

"What?" I said, pretending to be uninterested.

"Why aren't you looking at me?" she inquires.

I turn my head to look at her and smile. She is right. Why should I waste my time gazing at the jewel-like presence of the stars in the sky when I had the two greatest heavens in the world present right here next to me in her eyes.

Without saying another word, we lean in for a long kiss.

THE END.
