I've already finished the University :)

don't need to be nervous,if you're afraid of not finding friends, you must be social from the first day.Go and try to talk to your classmates...Good luck^^

If you're living on campus then definitely try to get out and socialize. As far as grades go…it depends on how you manage yourself. Do your readings and go to lecture (don't fall into the temptation of skipping lecture if attendance isn't mandatory) and you'll be fine as far as course work goes.

I would definitely suggest befriending at least one classmate in each class (especially if you're a commuter).

Do your homework the same day you receive it/ the same day you have that class.

Join a student org to meet people with similar interests.

Take advantage of your professor's office hours if you need help.

Take advantage of tutoring sessions if you need help.

Always check the weather. Don't be one of those many people who step outside in a nice shirt, thinking it's gonna be hot, in 20 degree weather.

Check out the fun fests, parties, and dances that your school creates.

Chances are that other people are nervous too  :). It'll be fine.

Have fun (not too much), and pass.

I'm in my second year, and this is what I've learned. (Except that I always check the weather. I wasn't one of those people)

I graduated.

Just a tip, keep on top of your studies, especially your reading assignments. If you procrastinate, everything will pile on you and you'll likely have a mental breakdown from not knowing where to begin. And I don't think you'd want to go through 500+ pages of missed readings on finals week.

Go to class

Read the textbook

Seriously people will say "I didn't go to class lol" when they're the main ones getting a C or low B when professors will actually give you useful information for tests if you listen to ther lectures

Read the syllabus before asking your professor 1000 questions

Don't take every little thing so seriously

  • 2 weeks later...

• When you have good motivation going on your first year, try to maintain it and always remember why you want to go to uni/college in the first place.

• As the members have previously said, go to class. If you have the chance to skip because you're lazy, don't.

• Take notes because other people's notes won't make that much sense to you, since it's customized for them to read, not you.

• DO NOT procrastinate. I am a visual communication student and it is said to be common for ~our people~ to not sleep for days because we're trying to finish the unusually large amount of things to do. And it does happen to me. Truth is, I have a friend who almost never stay up late doing assignments because she never procrastinate. And I know well that I didn't get good amount of sleep because I did procrastinate greatly. That being said,

• Improve your time management skills. It will help you greatly. Making schedules might sound lame but it's going to help you to get quality sleep.

• IF staying up late is absolutely necessary, here is a sleeping hack I read. I don't know how accurate this is, but I do know from experience that sleeping at 4-6 am is basically no use because I still feel tired sleeping around that time.

- 9 pm - 10 pm: equal to sleeping for 4 hours in the midnight.

- 11 pm - 3 am: where you get most of your energy (where your sleep it deepest).

- 4 am - 6 am: one hour is equal to 15 mins of sleeping in the midnight.

• Don't rely on other people.

• Love yourself. uwu

Good luck!
