Syara 3,055
Probably the platforms they use aren't taking as high % as iTunes do... and since there all the production goes to the Company as one and not x% for singer, y% for producer z% for designer, etc... that makes it cheaper imo

swiftswitchsurf 12,276
How much do they cost now? About 11 cents. So the same as the OP stated. Before they were closer to 5 cents. Downloading music in S korea is pretty irrelevant. Music streams are a bigger source of revenue to a company.

swiftswitchsurf 12,276
I don't know the logistics or consumer friendliness. I just got numbers on the stream intensity and revenue made off of them As you can see. for South Korea(And most of the scandanavian countries). Streaming's more important than physical albums and WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more important than downloads. Athena 21,718
Price of a download (stand-alone) should be ~0.60 USD. No, the prices went up in 2013. Yeah, the price went up...that doesn't mean it's not still cheap.
neojasnee 2,751
It's true average cost of song on iTunes is 1.29 still more expensive than China and Thailand
indigo 16,433
Standard Melon pass is 10 USD for 30 songs so about 0.33 cents per song in USD. This is why no one should brag about how much $$$ their fav makes from tehir digitals~ The thing is these passes are only consumer friendly if they take full advantage. Most people are not going to download 30 songs in 30 days.
