If L!ay released chinese album, it's called c-pop right? why ppl included him in kpop solo album record? I'm really confused

 

 

THIS. i actually vocalized this the other day but its been bothering me for a while. he sings in chinese, he's chinese--why is he counted but then again most of those charts are fan made. 

 

 

 

Yeah, his releases was not kpop for sure but since he's based in Korea and was released by Korean company, I think that's why it counts towards Hanteo/Gaon despite being in another language.

 

 

 

This is partly why I was worried for Taem especially since he was played dirty/robbed off of Gaon by Gaon themselves. I worried that SM might not care for Taem now that they have better sellers and securing huge consumer from a huge market/country with biggest population in the. In the end, its all about money. They might shift their focus towards somebody else. What if Taem doesn't meet SM's high expectations for him. We really dont know. If Taem had won Gaon, that would've at least secured and increase his name and hype for following releases. There'd be some kind of label/recognition attached to him. Like Grammy/Oscars winners would increase their names/value for their next movie. (Their worth/pay would increase when the next producer hire them, their next movie would be hyped with "starring Oscar award winner actress/director")

 

Surely, Gaon shouldn't be compared to Oscar/Grammy lol and I'm in no way comparing. Just stating a point how these award shows have one thing in common in which they can impact/influence winners. Its too bad that Taemin's/Shawol fanbase isn't huge like B_T_S's and EX_O's with the latter totally eclipsing everyone in kpop. Other younger groups like S.V.#T and -G-o.t.7- fanbases and sales are increasing as well. Its also unfortunate that Taemin has hard time appealing to the public due to discrimation/prejudism towards idols like him.

 

 

 

 

 

Is it just me or Namiu has been really absent on OH/Taemin thread these days. What happened to her?

 

i don't think atm SM has another soloist like Taem, they have clear boxes they are breeding ie OST digital singers, Collab singers and then Performance based artists, which Taemin is the only one with that title. even l.a.y is not a factor--he can rule china all he wants--but it doesnt effect Taemin who has Korea and Japan so for now i think he's fine sm backing wise.

Since Taemin is rumored for a 2nd mini album in June do you think "All about you" will be included?? Like i'm so addicted to that song

yes! but i hope the title is even catchier!   i need trashy hook chorus, don't fail me tae    and rumor of comeback? 99.9 percent, he's way overdue for a concert, my guess is mini album-promote 1 to two weeks depending on how well its received and then straight into concerts. just my guess

Idk how i'm going to survive if he's gonna top Press it + 1st solo concert.... I'm already imagining all those amazing b sides he's going to perform with top notch choreos  

 

Btw i hope we'll have a heavy based choreo side track to show off his dance like Drip Drop and maybe a catchy but more public friendly title track like View(?) so not too experimental because i also want him to do better digitally than last time 

 

I'm also hoping for his promotions to be similar to Press it with 1822069 teasers, dance ver, album covers, fansingns, variety shows etc.. LOL but serioulsy SM better come through and not disappoint me like always

yes i def want him to do better digitally bc i know he wants to do better there as well. i hope the album packaging is unique like shaped like a blue flower or something and maybe dual concept so theres two covers, altho two photobooks would be even better. i loved the presentation and hype around press it. the highlight melody was in my opinion the thing that really sealed the deal for people interest wise and also the kissy pic had him trending for days   i just hope the music video is dance centric so they dont scatter views with multiple performance versions. 

 

 

so it's not a jp comeback..can't wait for his 1st concert!!!
