Flawless Taemin for Philipp Plein Open Event

Recommended Posts

Why can't they put him in something decent like these instead of those big grandpa coats?

This makes me angry. Taemin has a lithe body that is perfect for men's couture, especially French and Italian styles that are slim cut. Plein is one ugly line with lots of extremely overpriced jackets, hoodies and t-shirts with huge skulls on them. So instead of putting him in a t-shirt with the words "Global Player" on it, or fitted grey sweatpants with built-in leather kneepads, or the tens of styles of distressed skinny jeans they have, or the $54,000 fitted midnight blue crocodile-embossed leather waist-length jacket, they put him in a $3000 long heavy wool blazer that doesn't fit and hides all his assets.  :omg:

Exactly. The big long blazer/coat doesn't do justice to his figure. There are far better outfits that can flatter his figure or make him look decent at least. The big blazer/granpa coats just make him look like a child wearing his grandpa's clothing. Sometimes I questioned these k-celeb stylists. Maybe they just put the clothes on just because they thought it looked good on the models, so it will probably looked good on the celebs without considering that non-models have different body types and built. What a mistake. I used watch Korean design shows and fashion tv programs in my spare time, and most of the time, I never liked nor do I agree with any of their designs. Its like most of their stylists and fashion coordinators have really horrible taste. Sometimes Korean fashion can be nice and cute especially the casual wear but a lot of the times especially the fashion couture can be very horrid.

Yeah, I haven't been impressed by their stylists either, including the hot mess that awards show red carpets seem to be for actors. I'm talking rookie mistakes like not having items properly fitted (I get maybe clothes are on loan, but the whole marketing value of a celeb wearing an outfit is lost if it looks bad) or appropriating the head-to-toe runway look and putting the whole thing on the client. Were the idols not young, pretty and thin, they would look like Ab Fab's Edina Monsoon most of the time. Sometimes it looks like Versace or Jeremy Scott threw up on a poor member; sometimes it looks like the Korean DIY equivalent of Tina Knowles' early Destiny's Children costumes.
