Korean media reports that 70% of North Korean submarines have reported to left their docks

In midst of Minister of National Defense, Kim Kwan-jin and  Minister of Unification, Hong Yong-pyo having their second meeting with North Korean higher up officials in Panmunjeom, Korean media reports that 70% of North Korean submarines have left their docks and are no where to be found. The number of submarines leaving their bases is speculated to be over 50.

This is the first time this many North Korean submarines have left their docks since June 25th, 1950 during the sudden invasion of the Korean peninsula attempted by North Korea.

South Korean military officials stated that “this is 10 times more submarines leaving their bases than normal days†and revealed that “many submarines are not being located with [south Korea’s] radar system after leaving East and West sea bases.

Mean while, Minister of National Defense, Kim Kwan-jin and Minister of Unification, Hong Yong-pyo have returned to Panmunjeom to continue their discussion with North Korean higher up officials for the second time following 10 hours of discussion on the day before.
