Using Fans for Free Labor...

Have kpop companies gotten super lazy or lackluster with promoting their artists because fans have become easy cheap/free labor? With the creation of forums like akp, soompi, and OH for international fans, kpop has reached a broader audience, due much in part to the marketing skills of loyal fans. Concerts, features on songs, a one day participant or reoccurring cast member for variety series or dramas/movies, music videos, etc etc have now reached thousands and thousands of more eyes because of twitter, forum posts, link sharing and the interwebs. Yet, with the increase in fan support it seems like company support of their groups has faltered. Has anyone else noticed this?

Are you on the payroll for these companies? Cause if not, do you feel used? And if not, why not?

Are we not demanding enough from these pissant companies after giving them our hard earned cash because we don't want our favs living in a basement sharing cup noodle while trading nights at the lounge? Do we fear the poverty of our favs so much that we let these companies walk over us?

Flame those lazy companies and their crappy marketing departments!

i will NEVER understand why companies with Kpop idols NEVER do english subs for their idol group videos. Its really cheap to hire a few english-speaking korean young people, who can use a little extra money, and have them sub all the videos. Its supercheap and it would boost the idols popularity with fans worldwide IMMENSELY ! Instead, many idol groups do not offer eng subs and only promote for korean-speaking fans. NOT VERY SMART !

Got7 videos have some cheap eng subs on the official youtube channel but its really bad cheap english. Dont tell me you cannot find some Koreans who can speak good english. Especially the Koreans who go university are good in english and always ready to earn some extra-money.

I dont get it.  No Interest in Worldwide Marketing ? Invest 100 dollar in a subber and sell 1000 more albums worldwide. That should be a good deal.

Instead, they leave it to fan subbing teams to sub everything. How cruel !

I have to agree with you.  It's a good of an investment.  They will have more customers.  Increase their sales.  Also, promote their company brand worldwide.
