Oh Li Ronghao is the guy that rumored (as in not offical confirm but 99% are dating    ) to be Rainie's current boyfriend.

IDK he is "that" popular now. I'm glad

^  that's him...his popularity exploded in China after he appeared on I AM A SINGER..and he's doing moderately well in HK and other parts of south east asia as well thanks to IAAS ....he was already popular in Taiwan a year before that because of the Golden Melody awards........although he's from China

 

I seriously don't get his appeal though...he sounds like Eason Chan and I thought the song "Model" was ok.. can't see anything beyond that

I actually really like some of Li Ronghao's songs like Model, King of Comedy, and Li Bai. Don't like his new song though.

 

Interesting to see the difference in what's popular in each place though. Can I ask if there's any particular reason these are the 3 charts you posted? Just curious because they're all a measure of different things- ringtones, streaming, and itunes.

^ for China...the ringtone chart is as accurate as it gets in representing what's popular ATM...it's also the main song-based revenue generator for artists...ppl obviously don't pay for song/mp3 downloads, but they do buy ringtones.. streaming charts are skewed and they always separate mainland china from HK/Taiwan and Korea, America, etc....the ringtone chart shows everything in one place

^ for Taiwan...no weekly sales charts are available, so I use their kkbox streaming chart

^ for Hong Kong, the only all-language inclusive chart is the itunes chart, basically the only sales chart available...and it's also a very good indicator of what's trending in HK...

 

basically...i pick the best indicator possible for each region as there is no official chart..

wanted to show the  singaporean chart too...but cpop is on the brink of irrelevance there

 

the cpop market is really regionalised these days.......except for a dozen big names in cpop, artists don't crossover to other regions..
