Woot a Kalafina thread! My favourite music band <3

post your top 5 Kalafina songs (this took me like an hour of listening to choose)

1) Oblivious
2) Magia (can't decide between the original and [quattro])
3) Tsuioku
4) Sprinter
5) Seventh Heaven

I'm really digging In every nothing at the moment though, it might hit top 5. Oblivious and Magia have been at the top 2 forever though.

Plus rate the albums~

1) Seventh Heaven
2) Consolation
3) Red Moon
4) After Eden

I was thinking of updating the Kalafina fan award with a Far on the Water pic. Who's with me?

It feels like talking to myself lol

I'll gladly support the badge update, but I think we'll have to wait for the next award change season to do it.

I want to talk about these chicks. I'm confused with where they're heading, or if they're heading somewhere at all.

I know they're sole purpose was to make anime theme songs, and their efforts to get away from it only resulted in lower sales... But DAMN. Yuki Pimpjiura be endorsing whatever anime, compose something in five minutes and call it a day. The sound she has given Kalafina hasn't evolved much ever since After Eden.

I know the ladies are paid to just sing and look beautiful, but come on... Yuki has given them songs which sound almost indentical to songs they've done previously, and done better than the new ones.

I'm glad they've found sucess, but it will fade sooner than later if Yuki sticks to the anime tie-ins. She has to do the same songs over and over again, and the anime market isn't stable. They'll buy your single once and you won't see any more money from them again.

TL;DR: They should try new things before their fanbase becomes bored of them. Yuki hasn't evolved Kalafina's sound at all, the PVs have two formulas only (close ups with hand movements in an room/outdoors with a few other shots from a storyline or whatever), the anime market isn't stable and thus they need to endorse new anime every three months. Oh, and I personally haven't enjoyed much since Consolation's Door and Signal.

The thing is that Yuki thinks that everything's going alright for her and for the girls since they're doing always better with each release in Japan. I just feel like the international fanbase is getting pretty fed up of all those recycled songs (and I'm too tbh). Tbh I think that Yuki is going through an artistical crysis since heavenly blue. Her OSTs also are pretty crappy compared to her previous works.
