Pivoine 218
What defines a good dancer ? Who are your favorite dancer(s) in kpop and why ? PS : if you can post some videos to prove your point, it would be great too
anh. 5,127
it depends on how people would see a good dancer, i guess a good dancer could be one who could execute the choreography well, or it could be one who can freestyle without any problem
A Cat On The Moon 192
I don't know what defines a good dancer but I know that I love someone who is so passionate about what they do, that you can see it in their face every time they perform. *points to sig* there's my boy. fabiola 434
Umm someone with technique, versatility (can pull off more than one dance style), looks into detail But at the same time makes it seem effortless & is able to connect with the audience. I probably like Joon & Jay Park the most. Shindong's really good too..

Cloud 11
A good dancer is not someone who just learns and follows [which is what kpop is doing] its someone who goes out of their way to not only master but also create!

Just put the right amount of time into it and you could do the same.

No see now ur talking about a choreographer. Yes anyone can learn a dance but that doesn't make them a good dancer. They would have to put energy, facial expressions, technique and confidence into the dance moves and that's what makes them a good dancer. People can learn any dance but half of them do it boringly and dull.

Meigitsune 2,999
Minzy is a pretty good dancer, even though recently her dancing has been... questionable. Minzy's the last to dance in the video, although I have to admit everyone that dances in the video has at least some skill. There's also Taeyang, who was just recently voted #1 in a list of the top idol dancers... Found that list if you're interested: [iNFO]Music Talk Talk MaBling’s Top 10 Best Idol Dancers10. Good dancing is also about the attitude, and without that attitude the potential power it can have to affect someone is not there.

[its basically supposed to be an involuntary action] and they are true creators~~

[its basically supposed to be an involuntary action] and they are true creators~~ No at the first part. It's not acting whatsoever. It may seem easy to do for some but it's very hard for others. I agree that those things can be learned and that's why they have dance classes. But you can not tell me that without those things, they are good at dancing. "Telling the story" is where the facial expressions come in at/The way you move your body(technique). If you're showcasing a sad dance, ur face has to show it. You have to let it show. As a dancer, I don't know what you mean when you say "don't want to dance" or "involuntary action" are what good dancers are. Can you elaborate on that please? As a dancer, I don't know what you mean when you say "don't want to dance" or "involuntary action" are what good dancers are. Can you elaborate on that please? actually it is! in this context, acting is when you're doing something with utter focus...and where techinque and expressions come in, focus is there! a person doesnt need those to be a good dancer...Movement is just a form of art.. For example, an artist draws a portrait of a Lady - he can sketch it, he can paint it or just do an outliner ... its still going to be a portrait of that lady! same goes for dance... Facial expressions are not necessary... another example..when ur sitting in an auditorium to watch a ballet performance, how many of us sit close enough to see the ballerina's/ballerino's face? only those in the front rows...but we still understand the story...[and no, there was no bgm..that was a true experience] okay to explain the last part [hehe..another example] when an object is about to hit, you move naturally..u dont stand there and think 'should i move', 'i have to move coz i dont wanna get hit' - thats involutary action.. thats the same for a good dancer.. they dont think about dancing, they just do... ...in fact all of us are good dancers...we dont practise hard, but when it comes to party, most of us got the moves
