After their contracts expire I strongly assume they will disband, so where does this leave Youngji? Unlike the rest of the girls who can lay on their experience and merits, she was added into a dying group as a fresh face with a fresh slate. She ended up hitting it off among their fandom and even temporary got public attention with her variety show appearances, but this doesn't answer what happens to her after KARA disbands. What do you think? Will she become a solo act? Actress/Variety? And more importantly do you think what DSP did with her is fair? ethereal 20,923 Posted August 17, 2015 Share Posted August 17, 2015 I'm pretty sure Kara signed a 4 year contract, though I don't have a source for that info, but if that's true Youngji will be doing fine by the time the girls call it quits. She already has a better public image from roommate than Hara has now thanks to the water bottle scandal. She just has to steer clear of scandals and she'll do fine. I can't tell you whether or not her making it into KARA despite the group being older was fair, but I think the whole point of it was to set up a base for her, and allow her to grow her individual popularity (especially after landing her various variety shows gigs including Roommate, when her alligator laugh went viral). Youngji gained more exposure from KARA than she would have in a group like April and if KARA disbands she'll still have a chunk of the fanbase that will watch her solo activities. ( i know i think about it some times. i always say wow it was a blessing in disguise for somin not to win the baby kara competition. it just might have crossed her mind once. we are only human and shes probably had a good time as well as regrets once in a while. Also she's probably earning a lot for a rookie too from all the touring and CFs - not on the level of the original members of course but she's probably earning and paying back her fees/debt faster than most rookies . I'm assuming she would have a long term contract with DSP (not Kara) so maybe after Kara starts to wind down, DSP will start giving her more individual activities or maybe a solo or subunit within the company. I know Kara won't last long but being in Kara was the biggest thing to happen in Youngji's career. It helped her gain great attention and seriously pushed her beyond her limits. She knew she had to satisfy a lot of people so she tried hard to be lively & to promote Kara on variety shows. As for her future, I think her main role in the webdrama is a good starting point for her acting career (if that's her direction). YEH joined Baby Vox at the tail end while they were winding down and it got her some fans and a bit of exposure that made it easier for her to cross into acing where she really wanted to be. She also didn't have the idol stigma so attached to her which made it easier for her to transition. She had enough fans as a rookie actress to get good ratings, which helped slingshot her career compared to how most idols sink when they try to cross over. Who else has won 2 music show awards, show success in Japan,go on tour with 55,000 people, be featured in Hara's song, and multiple variety appearances? I have the feeling that this is the last contract that KARA signed with DSP... I think Gyuri will go solo on Japan, Seungyeon will be become a producer/songwriter, Hara will remain as a idol solo artist like Nicole and YoungJi will become an actress like Yoon Eun Hye. YoungJi used to be a KeyEast trainee, so I hope if her contract nulifies they contact her. Honestly, I hope that all KARA members leave DSP. hotLovers5 625 Posted August 17, 2015 Share Posted August 17, 2015 This is why I cannot stand with Youngji stan ....they always pissed off Kara5 stan...if she debut in April, I don't think she will get half of her popularity she has now....I know she can sing but if she debut in April I doubt she will become main vocalist, she will end up being leader/visual like Irene....thanks to Kara she got all of this popularity...if she just in April, I don't think she will get cast in Roommates and another show so easily....stop saying her talent will be wasted because I think she lucky enough to have this oppertunity as Kara member....
