I would even consider Spica to be inherently stronger in both visuals and talent but they never hit it off like Mamamoo has internationally or domestically. Why? They also have a distinct group personality as opposed to Spica who made people feel like they weren't sure of their concept. I personally like Spica's music more though. Mamamoo has much better stage presence, group chemistry, connections, and energy. The fact that they're "self-sown" idols also seals the deal for them. And although I love MAMAMOO more I agree about SPICA vocals being stronger but MAMAMOO lives are always so enjoyable, they have huge stage presence. From the beginning MAMAMOO wasn't well promoted either tbh, I started watching their lives and people didn't even know who they were but with every live they started gaining fans just because their lives were always different and they just played with their song. Saturn Girl 2,292 Posted August 17, 2015 Share Posted August 17, 2015 From the beginning they had other well known celebrities collaborating with them (remembers spica were trained by lee hyori herself but from what I know they never collaborated) so I think it was originally those collabs which got them recognition. While I think Boa is charismatic, and all of them are talented, the other girls are wallflower/typical kpop group members (not a bad thing). In mamamoo all of them could still be entertaining alone. And of course luck, hype, connection, great company support. They get better styling too now. Mamamoo's songs are also more hyping tho I like spica songs more.
