The museums are pretty much all free, there is so much to see, i never had to wait more then 10 minutes for a bus, and since England overall is a small country its very easy to see historic locations (Windsor Palace, Stonehedge) less then 4 hours away by car/bus. Personally, while I am young, I plan to travel by teaching, home stays, couch hopping, and doing service. But sight seeing is never a bad option, and is worth doing no matter where you are for what reason.
