Grow Out of Kpop...

Do you ever think that you'll grow out of kpop?

I remember once saying that I wouldn't coz kpop is music and no ever grows out of music!

But now that I think about it, that is soo totally wrong!
If people don't grow out of music, why is it that famous groups/singers like NKOTB, MJ, Rolling Stones, Mariah Carey don't seem to have the same amount of fame they had in their heydays?

Nothing's changed in their music! they've got their fans; but the current generation just doesn't seem interested in them [not the same way as 1D, Gaga and JB]

So music is obviously changing taste from generation to generation

In that case, the Kpop that we know now will not be the Kpop that exists in 20 more years!
We might follow our favourite groups in the future, but will we listen to new kpop groups?

I, for one, would not be getting into new groups! the number of upcoming rookies making my bias list is getting smaller and smaller!

It's not the genre that changes but the music created by each generation..

Honestly, how many of us can say that we know all the songs by the Kpop's first generation?

So tell me, will you be growing out of kpop or do you think you can still listen to and enjoy it 20 yrs from now?

If Brown Eyed Soul are still together then yes I will. I have listened to the same artist for years. I did outgrow my crushes from when I was thirteen *cough* Usher *cough*  but I've had some artists that I've listened to for over ten years that I genuinely was interested in their music. I still listen to Luther Vandross, Boyz 2 Men, Kci and Jojo.

It's been some years with Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke, Andrea Bocelli, etc. It's very rare for me to really settle on other artists. I might like some but I have a stable set of artists that I genuinly buy and listen to with the occasional branching out.

i'll only listen to my bias groups. i rarely check out rookies nowadays.

Pretty much this.

Even then, I feel that eventually I will grow out of K-pop, it's just a matter of when that will happen. And one can never really tell when that will happen. Right now, it's just apart of me.

I don't think I'll be listening to it in 20 years, though.

K-Pop is just a hobby of mine, something to keep tabs on and participate in with a community to keep boredom at bay. I'm pretty sure that later on in life when I get really busy with school and other things, that I'll eventually grow out of it.

As ridiculously corny and lame as this sounds, I won't dismiss my biases as just 'entertainment' though. Sure, K-Pop has a lot of flaws but someday I'll look back, maybe in 10-20 years and think that wow, those were really some enjoyable moments.

I'm nearly 30 now, if artists I like are releasing music I enjoy, it won't be any different to me.

I've been a fan of some artists longer than many users of this website have been alive. lol

No I'm not a 1st generation fan lol, Western and Japanese artists.

It was just an example that time only matters if you want it to.

It'll probably go like this

1. Being immersed in kpop

2. just following my biases and a few stand out rookies that I might know by chance/boredom/reminiscing old habits.

3. if my biases haven't suspended all activity by this point I'll still be following them otherwise I'll probably be playing their tracks for old times sake.
