I have a feeling... BIGBANG was trying to protect their masculinity

The colors... Idk the word for it but it looks like someone turned down the contrast and brightness. It's quite unattractive if you ask me.

To illustrate this, I took screencaps of the music video and edited them to make the lighting look more natural and typical. For the sake of consistency, I edited each cap with the exact same settings.

Now, I will say that screencaps are usually brightened because videos and photos have different standards when it comes to light. BUT, compare my EDITED caps to UNEDITED caps of their labelmate's MV shot in a similar setting.

As you can see, my edits are much closer in brightness and contrast to the Happy MV than the original LNFIL caps.

Why has BIGBANG chosen to edit their music video like this? Look at the members' interactions with the girls. The video is, for lack of better word, cute, and maybe they looked back at the footage and thought "this is cuter than we intended". Cute = feminine. So, in order to not push the video over their "cute" boundaries, and in turn make it less feminine, they darkened the colors. They couldn't use a grunge-y harsh filtering, because that would ruin the mood of the MV.

Now as we all know, G-Dragon has no insecurities with his masculinity, as he's walked the androgynous lines and broken gender barriers many times before. But the other BB members? Not so much. As a group, they have an image to uphold, and anything cutesy is threatening to their image. Another music video from BIGBANG like Lollipop? Never going to happen.

lol yeah yours are more natural

But I think the MV's never meant to look natural

It's supposed to look dreamy and cute and leaning more towards some fantasy love

I prefer the original MV color contrast and brightness

It fits the mood of the song

Also, 2ne1....

honestly i think the reason its like that is cause of the song while the mv is full of cute moments the song is not a bright go lucky love song.

also u can tell u are not a fan or u would know that big bang is not afraid of showing a non-manly image

These are concerts/variety. Big difference. There's a reason why A Pink does pole dancing at concerts but wouldn't do anything remotely close to it in a music video.

i don't see the difference, concert and variety shows also have viewers just like music videos. the viewers who see them in music videos can also see these variety shows and concerts too so they will know that big bang has no problem in showing off non-manly side.

Point of this post is that you thought big bang has a problem with doing cute/feminine but as u can see that is not the case.
