Kim Hyun Joong revealed himself to be a jokester on the set of 'Generation of Youth' and revealed that his co-star Lim Soo Hyang is actually younger than she looks! 

 

 

'Entertainment Relay' met up with the cast and asked Kim Hyun Joong and Lim Soo Hyang who were waiting to film their scene, "Gaya is Jung Tae's first love." Lim Soo Hyang jokingly felt betrayed by Kim Hyun Joong who falls in love with Jin Se Yeon in the drama and told him, "Am I your first love? You cheated on me." 

 

She then expressed her jealousy on Jung Tae and Ok Ryun (Jin Se Yeon)'s kiss scene, "I'm jealous. Do you like it since you get to do it with a young kid?" Kim Hyun Joong revealed, "Soo Hyang has a 'no ahn' [looking older than you are] image. But Soo Hyang and Se Yeon don't have much of an age gap." Soo Hyang shared, "We're four years apart." Kim Hyun Joong continued on the old jokes, "But appearance-wise, she is on the level of an aunt?", making Lim Soo Hyang playfully kick him.

Kim Hyun Joong shared what it was like to return to the small screen for the KBS 2TV drama ' Generation of Youth', which aired its finale on April 3.

 

Kim Hyun Joong shared on the set of the final filming on the morning of the 3rd, "As I acted with respected sunbaenims, I learned a lot, and I think I was able to work harder in my acting because I met such a cool character like Shin Jung Tae... Although I am lacking a lot, thank you to the fans who supported me until the end and all of the viewers who loved 'Generation of Youth'."

Kim Hyun Joong had an interview with TV Daily after his drama 'Generation of Youth' ended on a high note. In the interview, he was asked, "Do you often talk with idol singers who are also active as actors?"

 

He answered, "I think the cases of idol members to actors that succeeded well are Yoochun and [T.O.P]. When I called [T.O.P], he said he was working hard on filming the movie 'Tazza'. I only hear Yoochun from rumors, but they say he really focuses on his work."

 

He continued, "He's not just pretending. He tries to melt into the role and communicate with the director. Yoochun is normally a very warm person. People who are good at acting need good emotions, and Yoochun is like that. Kim Hyun Joong talked about the rumors of him dating After School's UEE!

 

Back when both of them were starring on 'Barefoot Friends', a rumor had spread that the duo were actually dating. According to rumors, Kim Hyun Joong had introduced UEE to his friends as his girlfriend. Even though the rumors quieted after the show ended, it still pops up from time to time.

 

In an interview he had with Star Today, he was asked about the rumors. He answered, "It's not true at all. To be honest, I trusted these rumors out of instinct. But now that I became one of the subjects, I realized they're not believable. I heard through the rumors that I was dating UEE, and we laughed together when we saw it. After that, the staff kept teasing us, so I jokingly said 'she's my girlfriend', and that became the fuel for another round of rumors. It's a scary world."

 

He added, "We were all close during the filming, but I don't think I could ever be dating UEE like the rumors suggest."

Kim Hyun Joong shares his thoughts on idol life and dating

 

 

 

 

Kim Hyun Joong sat down for an interview with Sports Seoul, which also happened to be on the day that Nichkhun and Tiffany went public with their relationship, making it inevitable that the veteran idol star would be asked to give his two cents on idols dating.

 

Kim Hyun Joong shared, "[The competition] was intense during my twenties. Ever since I started as an idol, there was no time to rest, and I wasn't able to date properly... I think the social conditions have changed a lot these days, so it feels new and different."

 

"I don't regret it even if it means not being able to date properly. Although it felt like an invasion of privacy at times, in order to become a singer, I was the only one selected out of 1 million people who auditioned and made my debut... I endured through it and thought that I should be happy for this very reason."

"If I were to become an idol again, I don't think I would be able to do it... Since idols are not considered as singers, in the U.S you think of *NSYNC as artists, but in our country and Japan, [the general public] does not consider idols as artists and their image is restricting."

Kim Hyun Joong reveals he dated in secret a year ago + remains firm on his stance that he will never go public with a relationship

 

 

Kim Hyun Joong remained firm on his decision that he will never go public with a relationship.

 

In a recent interview with Newsen, Kim Hyun Joong was asked about marriage given that he is in his late twenties. He shared that marriage might not be in the cards for him, "I don't think I will be able to... I have to go to the military and if I do other things, I will be over 35 years old... In the past, I thought that I really have to [get married someday] but now I don't have confidence. I love work so much so I don't think I will be able to be faithful to my family. If a dilemma suddenly comes about in my drama, singing, and concerts one day, then I think I will do it."

 

He was also asked about his love life to which he honesty remarked, "If I say I don't date, that would be a lie... I dated in secret about a year ago, but I am not dating currently."

 

He also added, "I want to date a bit more comfortably now. I think a relationship based on impulsive passion and clinging on is not that great... A normal dating relationship is the best. Rather than buying flowers and doing surprise events, eating and holding hands while walking is better. I didn't realize that sometimes normal and ordinary things are the best when I was younger, but I am feeling it now."

 

"I will never go public with a relationship. I noticed that when people date publicly and breakup it's the woman that has to suffer for it. I don't think there is any need for a woman, who may be later married, to have the title of being 'someone's woman' following them... If I'm not going to marry that person, I will never go public with a relationship out of respect for that person's life."

 

Kim Hyun Joong previously denied dating rumors with After School's UEE and after reading his stance on never going public with a relationship, shippers are left wondering if this could mean that there was some truth to the rumors. However, it seems we will never know as Kim Hyun Joong seems like a man who will fight to protect those close to him and kudos to him for that!

Kim Hyung Jun attends memorial service for the deceased victims of Sewol

 

Kim Hyung Jun became the next celebrity to give his condolences in person at the memorial service for the deceased students and teachers of the sunken ferry Sewol.

 

After finishing his drama filming schedule on the morning of the 26th, Kim Hyung Jun attended the makeshift memorial service held at Olympic Memorial Hall in Ansan, Gyeonggido alongside his manager and soccer team FC Avengers.

 

His agency SH Entertainment rep told Newsen, "I belatedly found out about it. After completing filming for his drama, he quietly attended it and checked to make sure he wasn't caught by the cameras outside of the memorial alter. I heard he cried. After hearing that story, I looked fondly upon [Kim Hyung Jun]."

 

The official memorial service will be held at Hwarang Park, Ansan starting on April 29.

Kim Hyun Joong to make a Japanese comeback this June

 

Those of you who've been waiting for Kim Hyun Joong to return to his singer roots will be glad to hear that he will be making a Japanese comeback on June 18!

 

Japanese media outlet Sankei Sports stated on the 28th, "Kim Hyun Joong will release his new song 'Hot Sun' on June 18, making his comeback in one year in Japan."

 

According to the report, "Hot Sun" is a rock number produced by Steven Lee. The other double title track "Timing" also includes a rap featuring by AAA's Mitsuhiro Hidaka. The album will come with plenty of options for you to choose from including a regular edition and five limited editions.

 

He will also greet Japanese fans before the release at the 'Generation of Youth' event in Pacifico Yokohama on May 31.

Kim Hyun Joong holds a Japanese fanmeeting before his 'Generation of Youth' airing

 

 

 

Kim Hyun Joong met with 10,000 Japanese fans!

 

His recent drama 'Generation of Youth' will air in Japan's DATV starting in August, and he decided to go meet his Japanese fans before the airing. He arrived at the Haneda Airport and was greeted by about 1000 fans, making sure to take the gifts and letters fans gave him and thanking them.

 

He had 2 fanmeetings, and actress Lim Soo Hyang also came on stage for a special surprise. He sang the 'Generation of Youth' OST "When Today Passes" as well as his hits "Your Story" and "I'm Your Man". 

 

He said, "I'm happy that I was able to meet my Japanese fans for the first time in a while. I prepared hard for 'Generation of Youth' and I worked hard filming it. I hope you all love it."

 

The first episode will air on July 6th on DATV, but the drama will star airing properly starting on August 9th.

Kim Hyun Joong becomes the first male international solo artist to top the Oricon Weekly Single Chart twice

 

 

 

Kim Hyun Joong's fourth Japanese single album 'Hot Sun' previously charted at #1 on the Oricon Daily Single Chart and now ranks #1 on the Oricon Weekly Single Chart!

 

This is his second single album to top the Oricon Weekly Single Chart since 'Heat', which was released in July 2012, making him the first male international solo artist to top the chart twice.

 

His agency Key East Entertainment stated, "According to the Oricon reps, [Kim Hyun Joong] is the first international solo artist in 31 years since Taiwanese singer Au Yeung Fei Fei to rank #1 on the Oricon Weekly Chart with a single album twice and the first male international solo artist to achieve this in Oricon history."

A rep from his agency Key East Entertainment stated on June 26, "Starting with his Seoul concert on the 28th, Kim Hyun Joong is set to meet fans in a total of 11 cities across 7 countries including Taiwan, China (Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou), Japan (Yokohama, Hiroshima, Osaka) Thailand, Mexico, and Peru."

Kim Hyun Joong kickstarts his world tour in Seoul

 

 

Kim Hyun Joong has started off his world tour!

 

On the 28th, he was at Seoul's SK Handball Arena and had the first performance of his world tour. All 5,000 tickets were sold out immediately, and Kim Hyun Joong hinted that the Seoul concert would be the best stage he's ever put on.

The concert started with a laser show and amazing choreography. He performed 20 songs including "Unbreakable", "Break Down", and "Your Story". He performed his dance tracks in their acoustic versions, and even had a tango stage. He also performed songs that weren't revealed yet that will be in his upcoming Korean album.

At the end of the concert, he said, "This was like a dream. It's hard to say this is the end of it. I hope that the time that I spend with you fans is forever."

 

He'll be continuing on his world tour for 3 months until September, going to 7 countries including Taiwan, China, Japan, Thailand, Mexico, and Peru.

 Kim Hyun Joong's alleged girlfriend reported to have pressed charges against him for repeated assault

 

 

'Dispatch' released a shocking exclusive reporting that Kim Hyun Joong's supposed girlfriend has pressed charges against the celebrity for allegedly assaulting her for two months.

 

According to the report, Kim Hyun Joong's alleged girlfriend, being referred to as 'A', pressed charges against Kim Hyun Joong at the Songpa police station. The woman claimed that she suffered injuries from assaults by Kim Hyun Joong from the end of May to mid-July. Ms. A has completed her initial statement at the police station and sent in evidence of her alleged relationship with Kim Hyun Joong as well as a medical certificate proving her injury. However, the police have not brought in Kim Hyun Joong for questioning yet and will have to set up a date to bring the star in for further investigation.

 

It's said 'A's friend revealed, "The two started dating since 2012... After May, various women troubles came up, and during then [Kim Hyun Joong] severely assaulted 'A'."

 

'A' is reported to have been hit at Kim Hyun Joong's apartment. 'A' says he punched and kicked her and she suffered injuries on her face, chest, arms, and butt during May. She was told by the hospital it was going to take 2 weeks for recovery.

 

In July, troubles with women came up again then, and it's said she fractured a rib due to Kim Hyun Joong's assault, requiring 6 weeks for recovery.

 

'A's friend added, "Women troubles arose, and it turned into assault... The past two months were a repetition of beatings, apologies, and forgiveness. However, the situation got worse, and that's why 'A' decided to report it."

 

His agency Key East Entertainment rep responded to TV Report, "We found out just now after reading the article. We will have to confirm it."

Kim Hyun Joong's agency KeyEast Entertainment has released an official statement concerning the allegations of assault made against the actor and singer.
 

On August 23, KeyEast Entertainment presented Kim Hyun Joong's side of what occurred, casting doubt on the alleged "repeated attacks" suffered by his girlfriend as well as other reported facts.

The agency stated, "After confirming [with Kim Hyun Joong], we found that it's true the two parties have known each other since 2012, but they didn't start dating until a few months ago... In the middle of their relationship, the two had an intense exchange of words. Though it's true that in their heightened emotional state things got physical, it's not true that there was continual physical assaults or that she's been battered and beaten over the past two months like what was reported." 

In terms of the reports that the woman in question suffered fractured ribs, KeyEast said, "Their physical fight was a one time occurrence, and her fractured ribs didn't occur due to their recent argument. Her ribs were injured when they were playing around previously, and the next day, they met with acquaintances. As there didn't seem to be anything abnormal, her injury wasn't recognized."

The label made it clear that the earlier reports were one-sided, "We're very disappointed about the one-sided reports from the accuser making headlines and that the truth is being exaggerated." KeyEast added that Kim Hyun Joong will be willingly complying with police investigations in order to reveal the truth. The statement further mentioned that he plans to continue to fulfill the current commitments in his schedule, and afterwards, he will be focusing on resolving the case against him.

Dispatch releases alleged text conversations between Kim Hyun Joong and girlfriend of assault case

 

Earlier, Kim Hyun Joong's agency Key East Entertainment spoke up about the assault charges against the actor by alleged girlfriend 'A', confirming that she was indeed his girlfriend, admitting that things got physical between the two during a heated argument but claiming there were no recurring physical abuse, and explaining that her broken ribs were a result of a playful encounter between the two. The agency also said the two knew each other since 2012, but started dating only a few months ago.

 

Meanwhile, Dispatch jumped in, raising some suspicion and speculation about the case by saying some things did not seem to match up between the two stories.  The media outlet revealed both pictures and text exchanges between the two to support their argument against Key East's statement.

 

1. How long have they been dating?

 

Key East claimed that the two only started dating recently; however, Dispatch's findings were different.

 

The first point Dispatch made was that Key East Entertainment claimed the two knew each other since 2012, but only started dating a few months ago, whereas A claimed the two started their relationship in April, 2012.  Dispatch got ahold of a picture the two took together in April 2012 (taken inside Kim Hyun Joong's home in Cheongdamdong), as well was one from March 2014 (two on a date in a restaurant while he was filming for 'Generation of Youth').

 

In August, 2013, A is also said to have been seen at the wedding of Kim Hyun Joong's older brother. Even earlier this year, the two enjoyed dates at a golf course, on Jeju Island, and more. 

 

 

There were also text exchanges. A's side revealed, "Even in 2013, he continuously sent text messages like, 'I miss you,' 'I love you,' 'Let's live together,' etc.  How is 2013 'a few recent months.'"

 

A's side also revealed that in August, 2014, Kim Hyun Joong sent her a closure text saying, "I'm sorry.  I hope you rediscover the two years that you had lost.  This is how I truly feel."

 

Dispatch ends this point, concluding that Key East's explanation was lacking as it seemed the two were a couple for at the very least a year.

 

2. What does it mean by things got physical?

 

Dispatch revealed A's claim that she confronted him about another woman and wanted to break up to which he replied by demanding why she kept suspecting him before using his hands and feet to hit her.

 

Here, more text messages were revealed.  A wrote, "My whole body is covered in bruises...It hurts.  I'm so upset about this.  I was beat up to the point I was barely alive. Why do I need to be hit like this?"  

 

Dispatch says Kim Hyun Joong replied, 'I'm sorry,' 'Let's end this now,' 'Because of you, I feel like I saw a side to myself I hadn't seen in a few years.'"  After his concert in Japan, he sent an apology text: "I don't know why I did that when I was going to feel sorry in less than a day.  I hope the bruises and pain get better quickly.  I'm truly sorry."

 

 

3. Was it a one time occurrence or did it happen repeatedly?

 

While Key East only acknowledged one incident of a physical fight on May 30, A said it started at the end of May and actually ran until the end of July.  According to the complaint lodged at the Songpa Police Station, during those two months, there were more than three rounds of physical, mental, and psychological assault.  

 

Dispatch concludes that Kim Hyun Joong only seems to be counting the time when he threw actual punches, while A also counts the times he used his force on her. 

 

 

4. Rib injury, when did it occur and did it happen because of 'playing around'?

 

A denied that her rib injuries occurred from when the two were playing around; rather, she claimed that she was beaten when she argued with him about his continuous women problems.

 

Key East had stated in their statement that the rib injury actually took place when they were 'playing around' from a time before this 'one time' physical fight. However, it turns out the rib injury came about 50 days after their physical fight according to hospital records. Therefore, Dispatch says, Key East is wrong when they said it was from an earlier time when they were playing.

Kim Hyun Joong to be summoned for investigation into the assault case next week

 

According to a report by Sports DongA, there's a chance that Kim Hyun Joong will be investigated in early September on the charges of assault his girlfriend filed against him.

 

On August 26, a rep from the Songpa Police Office in Seoul, which is taking the reigns on the case, revealed, "After the receipt of the complaint on August 20, the investigation into the plaintiff has concluded while the investigation into the defendant has not yet occurred.  Early next week, we plan on summoning Kim Hyun Joong for investigation."

 

As Kim Hyun Joong was overseas to carry out a schedule, the date for his summons had to be adjusted. 

 

Agency Key East Entertainment stated, "We will engage in the police investigation with the utmost sincerity to distinguish between right and wrong."

 

Meanwhile, Kim Hyun Joong finished his concert in Thailand as a part of his world tour on August 24 and returned to Korea on August 26 after which he remained confined to his house.  However, there is another world tour concert scheduled on August 31 in Guangzhou, China, so there is speculation he may voluntarily appear (meaning without a summons) within this week.

Dispatch has released evidence from the assault case against Kim Hyun Joong. (Warning: The images below may be disturbing to some readers.)

The released document and photos shed more light on the exact nature of the reported assault committed against the star's girlfriend. The chest, both arms, left buttock, and left shoulder are listed as injured in the alleged altercation or altercations between Kim Hyun Joong and his girlfriend.

Dispatch also contacted Kim Hyun Joong's agency KeyEast Entertainment to comment. The label stated, "For now we are sticking to what was said in our official statement, and any further information will be released through police investigations." When asked if their position might change after investigations, the agency reiterated, "Rather than not changing our position, it will be revealed through police investigations."

As previously mentioned, Kim Hyun Joong's girlfriend filed a case against him for habitual physical abuse over the course of two months, and his agency responded that there was a single incident in which a fight between the couple got physical and that reports were exaggerated. Dispatch then released text messages that seem to support his girlfriend's allegations. Kim Hyun Joong is currently set to be summoned for investigation next week.

Kim Hyun Joong expected to enlist next year if request for enlistment delay is approved

 

 

A report has been circulating that Kim Hyun Joong is planning to enlist next year having requested a postponement on his enlistment date for mandatory military service. Key East Entertainment confirmed that this is true, but also explained that his request for the postponement had been put in before his alleged assault case came to light.

 

A Key East Entertainment rep stated, "[Kim Hyun Joong] received his [military] draft notice for October 7, but he applied for a postponement due to his overseas tour schedule... This is irrelevant to his assault case because he applied for a postponement prior to it happening, and the decision [regarding the postponement] hasn't come out yet."

 

If his request is approved, then Kim Hyun Joong's new enlistment date is expected to be set for sometime next year.

 

Meanwhile, Kim Hyun Joong returned to Korea after wrapping up his concert in Bangkok, Thailand. He is set to be summoned for investigation for his assault case early next week. He is also planning to carry out the rest of his tour schedule without changes.

Kim Hyun Joong appears in front of media for first time since assault case

 

 

Kim Hyun Joong made his first appearance in front of media following news of his assault case.

 

On September 2, the singer and actor was photographed by media as he head to the police station for investigation. As expected, Kim Hyun Joong was asked to make a comment about the charges and case, but he's reported to have kept silent as he walked through the crowd of reporters. His manager and lawyer also refused to comment.

Dispatch reported that the representative for Ms. A, the woman who filed the charges, told the news source, "Kim Hyun Joong needs to admit to his mistake first. He needs to reflect on his sins and show that he's apologetic." The detective also stated, "Kim Hyun Joong's questioning is planned to take all night. We plan to ask him about the allegations made by the accuser."

Kim Hyun Joong admits to hitting his girlfriend on one occasion, denies it happened repeatedly

 

Kim Hyun Joong (28), who was previously spotted heading to the police station for his assault case, completed his preliminary questioning after four hours.

 

As he made his way to the police station in Songpa, Seoul for questioning on the 2nd, he was bombarded my media and stated, "I'm sorry. I will faithfully carry out the investigation."

 

He arrived at the police station on the 2nd at around 9 PM KST and went under a 3-hour-and-50-minute long initial questioning and left on the 3rd at 12:50 AM KST.

 

During the questioning, Kim Hyun Joong stated, "Although it is true that my emotions got the best of me during a fight with words and I hit her once, the rest of [the accusations] are false."

 

The police remarked to the media, "Kim Hyun Joong admitted to one assault among the four that he has been accused of, he denied the rest... As for the rib fracture, he said that they didn't even realize it at the time and that it happened when they were just joking around."

 

The police rep also stated, "As much as the statements of the accuser and accused conflict, we plan to bring in Ms. A. again for further investigation if necessary."

 

Kim Hyun Joong's statement reflects the statement released by his agency, which stated that things got physical between the two of them once, and that physical fights did not happen repeatedly. However, as reported before, his girlfriend claimed that there were several instances of him physically abusing her over the course of two months.
