Sry for the multiple posts i was too lazy for multiquoting. On my phone right now

I feel you.

Too obvious, too in-your-face. As a girl I automatically put myself in their situation and begin too feel uncomfortable tbh. I don't mind sexiness as long it is balanced and fits the concept. This time the amount was just too much, some things were kinda unneeded. They could have done something for this comeback and something for the next... If there was less of that I wouldn't mind. They've gone to such lengths now and are now limited by this image. It is hard to overlook their sexiness, you can say that there is more too GsD but fact is that they will remembered most by things like exposing their butts. I don't think anyone wants to be remembered as "the person who showcased their butt". Even if it helps you gain popularity. Also it'll be hard for them keep up with the level they're on now. What will they have in store for next time?

The live performance is fine though, very fun and energetic I think.

I'm not that frigid but these were my two cents on their MV :)

I think you bring up a legitimate criticism. For me the only really in your face part were the Yura flesh-tone skirt sequences, the rest of the MV was within limits in my opinion. I've seen much more exposure by simply flipping through the bikini issue of Sports Illustrated. Still, I also didn't think the skin tone skirt was necessary (but I can't say I didn't like it). At least they didn't show a full back view while Yura was bending over (imagine the reaction to that).

I do hope that the next GsD song will be relatively low key by comparison (maybe something more sensual than sexy) since I don't think you can get much sexier than the last few songs they've done. Not every song has to have super super sexy dancing and outfits to go with it. One of my favourite performances in that showcase was White Day where they're all sitting and singing. I wouldn't mind Sojin & Minah collab with Jevice.

Was watching some of those videos from their guerrilla concert, and as I feared, I saw Yura step on the tail once or twice at least while performing Expectation. They shouldn't perform Expectation in the FP outfits. At least tuck that tail in somewhere or somehow use it like a suspender.

Too much awkward English in that Girl's Day World intro. A lot of it sounded randomly out of place. I did like the music and their lower pitched singing/rapping voices. The dance was pretty good too. i would welcome a full fledged song with a similar urban style like this (just keep English to a minimum or zero).

FP as a song is growing on me. I like Hyeri's somewhat deeper voice which I think is a good contrast to the other girl's voices. The dancing is top notch energetic.

The company calls all the shots and does whatever they want. They probably thought showing Yura's scene would Bring some attention and just did it. This kinda things happens all the time, even in Hollywood. The actor just acts, after filming the movie, they go relax. Then it's up to the director and editing team to do what ever they want. The actor isn't always informed about what/how the scene will be shown. That's just the nature of the business, the big shots make all the calls.

The director and producers definitely intended to film some faux exposed Yura bum. They probably just told Yura they weren't going to film her bottom half just so it would be easier to convince her to wear the skirt.

They probably don't do NLF choreo because it requires doing the splits and I wouldn't be surprised if some of the girls can no longer do the splits. I think you have to continually do the stretches to keep that flexibility. I've only seen Hyeri do splits recently (usually to bait male hosts into trying it and hurting themselves).

No matter how "sexy" GsD goes, they will never lose their cuteness, I find it's just so ingrained in all of their personalities that even in their sexy concepts you can still detect cute gestures even if they're subtle. I hope they stick with that combination of sexy with a a hint of cuteness. No need to go to either extreme really. All I would like to see is for them to sing in their real voices and not have to sing in baby voices ever again. I will never understand why so many Asian female singers sing in baby voices.

Didn't know they were going to release a new song. It's not to my liking but it's not bad and will appeal to a certain crowd. As long as they keep making music that a good portion of the fans like then I'm happy.

Those latest FP outfits with the burgundy coloured jacket + tail and black leather/leatherette top & shorts are awesome. This is my favourite one so far and easily rivals with some of my favourite Expectation outfits.

Didn't expect this type of song to be covered by GsD. I wonder how many girl groups could pull off such a song or would even dare to try. I generally prefer Minah's voice but this is one style of song where Sojin's deeper voice sounds better and more suitable. The downside is that it really made Yura and Hyeri look like glorified backup dancers since they barely had any lines.

Which MV do you think each girl looked hottest in ?

Here's what I think:

Yura in HMO

Sojin in Twinkle Twinkle

Idk about Minah... Expectation maybe...

Hyeri in Don't Forget Me

Sojin at the and in the pool in Hug me Once (also has the best "game over" video, never knew they had a "game version" of the MV)

Hyeri in the storyline parts of Don't Forget Me

Yura in that "dress" in Female President

Minah in leather and as a 'rocker' chick in Nothing Lasts Forever

Everyone in every scene in Expectation

On an unrelated note, I was rewatching the Oh My God MV and was wondering if that was the Dream Tea president in the car that drops off Minah in the beginning of the MV.

After watching countless fancams of GsD performances I've switched over to watching whatever subbed variety show appearances I can find. So far I've enjoyed most of them. This one was fun except for the gum spitting contest at the end which was kinda lame. Their second appearance on Weekly Idol was also really good if not better.

I enjoyed the Running Man appearance from a while back, especially the blob launcher where Minah & Yura and Jae Suk got first place.

I just watched the youtube clip and that is a very convincing version of the trick. I've seen two variations of it before where the secret behind the trick was revealed but I can't figure out how this one with Sojin was done.

Must be nice to hear them calling you oppa with all their cuteness  :megusta:

That's funny, today I watched a rock cover, it's also very good.

I just imagined GsD dancing to this in their NLF outifts... great cover

This is a morph of GsD members. The 'person' they create looks like someone completely different, but also resembles an actual person I might have seen before (not sure who). Other girl groups have morphs that resemble one member the most. I think this is because GsD all have quite different features that somehow balance each other out. http://netizenbuzz.blogspot.com/2013/11/pann-more-face-morphs.html

The first person that came to mind when I saw this was Kim Tae Hee but I'm sure someone will disagree with me.

I like the new song. I think musically Something is more interesting than Expectation or Female President. Something doesn't have a super catchy hook but I find it to be less repetitive. The instrumental by itself sounds sexy in a way I can't explain. I also like the last part of the song. At the beginning of the song, I'm still trying to figure out the first sentence that Minah sings. The second sentence is definitely "I'm sick of being alone" but before that I can't decipher the English.

The "floor" dance at the beginning is great, it's like a sexy yoga routine. It's also actually quite suggestive. It's no surprise that Sojin is front and center for this sequence. The rest of the dance is fine and more subtle which should please those who thought Expectation and Female President had too much "in your face" butt waving. The only part I don't like is the "bouncy" dance move they do when they sing the word "something". That move seems to break the flow of the choreography.

The pinkie ring feather is an interesting accessory but not sure it really does much to accentuate some of their dance moves. I only really notice the feather in the closeup shots of their faces. On the other hand, the simple yet classic slit on their dresses definitely accentuates some of their dance moves very well. Their outfits give make them look like "femme fatales".

Some of the set designs in the MV give off a retro feel like the neon lights. It looks like Minah has a film camera (where you had to move the lever before taking a photo) and Hyeri has a cassette tape in the bathtub.

If I were to use one word to describe the song and MV, I would use the word "sultry"

:wth: they changed some of the steps  iwill miss the cat dance

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFTY0z17Bzg&feature=youtube_gdata_player

I don't mind the removal of the cat dance. When they glide their knees apart along the floor I was afraid doing that too much would damage the skin on their knees. I don't see why the other point dances needed changing though. Makes me wonder how Expectation would have been altered because the point dances in that choreo were much more provocative than any of the point dances in Something except for the cat dance maybe.

I find MR videos are more useful for determining who is actually singing live and who's just lip synching mostly. As for the quality of the singing, I think it's somewhat hard to judge it well sometimes because you cannot truly separate the vocals from the music. The voices always sound a bit weird or distorted in MR videos. You'd have to hear a singer sing acapella of songs in different vocal ranges before being able to truly determine their singing talent/ability.

I don't think Minah does terrible with high notes but I don't think its her strength either. I think Sojin generally sounds better in a lower range. I like hearing Minah and Sojin together since I think their voices compliment each other and they can harmonize well with each other.

Girl’s Day Sojin Talks About Her Five-Year Crush

Girl’s Day‘s Sojin recently confessed that she once had a crush on a guy for five years.

On the episode of “Hello Counselor†that aired on February 4, Sojin, along with the other members of Girl’s Day were guests.

During the episode, comedian Kim Young Hee revealed that she’s had a crush on her “Gag Concert†junior Im Woo Il for three years straight. She revealed that she confessed to him but got rejected.

After hearing this story, Sojin confessed, “I also liked a guy for five years.â€

She continued, “Once my engine ignites, it goes for a long time. Every time I got drunk, I texted or called him but he didn’t accept me. After I debuted, he called me and said he regretted not accepting me.â€

Meanwhile, Sojin also shared one of her biggest worries being her age as she is turning 30 next year.

  :omg:  :>_>:

So this guy changed his mind after seeing Sojin dressed up like a plastic doll with funky coloured hair in GsD's debut `Tilt my head` ? I question this guy's taste in women and style.

So Girl's Day could've been called Ice cream or Diamond?  Well maybe their next MV can involve wearing diamonds and eating ice cream in a seductive manner. I once thought Girl's Day was chosen so that it would be listed right before Girl's Generation in an alphabetical list of artists.

Thank you  :meow:

From my limited knowledge I know Girl's Day was not well received in their earlier days. Like for example quite a while ago my Sis brought up a topic of Minah challenging Miss A's Min. It was like Miss A was protected by a horde of fans saying Minah was too brazen or something. But take comfort in that I disagreed and wanted Girl's Day, with all their hard work put in (from a good guess), to rise up against more popular girl groups.

Yeah, when out of my comfort zone (the Younha thread), all I see are SM/YG  group threads, which really makes this forum boring sometimes.

I guess I shall stick around this thread then ^_^

Yes! a Younha fan! Younha was one of the first Korean singers I really liked almost instantly (I think I first heard her on a collabo with Epik High). She has a great voice. Minah's voice and personaility was what gradually got me more interested in Girl's Day. I vaguely remember the same perception that Minah tried too hard to seek attention. Maybe it was a bit true but I never really noticed or paid attention. Besides part of being a celebrity it to seek attention.

From what I could tell from early videos, I think JiIn and JiSun were better singers than Hyeri and Yura. It's nice to see JiIn return as part of that new rock band BeBop. Their first video/song was pretty cool. It was a funny jab at idol groups. The fact that she can play bass makes me wonder if the initial reason given for her departure from Girls' Day was even true (they said she left to pursue acting).

I definitely respect performers who can also play instruments. I believe Sojin and Minah can both play the piano well.

I guess I'll never understand what was so cute by Hyeri's whining/whimpering expression on Real Men and the video clip above or just aegyo in general. It's funny as a joke once in a while but really don't get the appeal of an adult woman acting like a child. In Real Men it wasn't intentional. I hope this doesn't become Hyeri's signature gesture or anything.

But Hyeri does have a great and lively personality that is perfectly suited for MC and variety shows. She pretty much does have the energy of a T-rex.
