Before I start, Imma let y'all know that I'm a big YG fan (not a Stan) and that I love the music the company's artists and groups release.

With that in mind, I can't help but to think that YG letting Bigbang use up 5+ months of the year was just a ploy to elongate their comeback. YG could've given them full 2+ months for their comeback and actually utilize the time wisely, but since we all know it takes forever for any YG act to make a comeback YG made an excuse for them to release something every month.

Now I'm not saying that it isn't innovative, because it is...but I also feel that it was done so as an excuse for the company to not promote any other acts.

Sure, this was a great move for VIPs as BB members are about to enlist soon. But, as a normal fan of the group, I just thought it was too much. I got sick of it the third month and if YG actually was wiser with his time, he could've had other acts promote in between BB's monthly releases...as they barely even promoted at all.

 

So, do y'all think this was just a rouse to use up the time YG never planned on utilizing or was it actually a great move for the company?

YG should have done Loser and Bae Bae as a pre release and then Bang Bang Bang and We Like 2 Party as the main titles of the full album with songs like If You and whatever as the sidetracks.

 

Honestly saves so much time and doesn't get boring after a while for non fans.

The real waste was how YG did nothing from January to April. But because of BB, everyone is going to be crammed in the last months of the year. So basically, Pink Punk is not debuting this year...ugh

I dont know why YG thought this was a good idea. He shouldve given Bigbang a comeback, then maybe a repack or smth, like with every comeback I feel less hype... and then he shoves the rest of his artists promotions in the last months of the year

well whatever you think brings in the money YG  :rolleyes:

Totally agree. At the beginning of the year they could have given Lee Hi a comeback and Winner (or Akmu).

this is probably big bang's last hoorah before they start getting sent to the army so i guess i can understand why they'd want their biggest moneymaker to go out with style.  it just sucks for winner and ikon and that new yg girl group tbh..

 

stifling winner like they have isn't good at all.  a relatively successful debut and then... nothing?  for like almost a year?  smh.

I know we've all been disappointed with how PinkPunk has been delayed countless and countless of times and I hate to say this, but all we can really do is wait.

I hate the fact that everything always seem so last minute for YG when everything should already be set in plan and follow suit. Idk anymore..

the problem for other artists not releasing songs should not be blamed on bigbang. even without bigbang made project yg still wasted january to april. thats four months wasted. so people compaining about how their favorite artist has not comeback because of this project...pls stop deluding yourself.even if bigbang didn't do this project, there is still a 85% chance that yg and his unorganized ass would have still not released any acts. 

 

(PS- big bang promotion is never considered a waste for yg. that's where all their major funds come from. in fact thats where most of their(yg) funds come from (as much as you want to deny it) period.

BB was going to do well on the charts anyway and they didn't even really go on music shows. They could have debuted Ikon or had a cb for Lee hi or AKMU imo. 

 

Also I feel like the original plan was to just release a full album and then special promotions but they decided to go this route to squeeze out a shit ton of money from them since they will most likely start joining the military next year. And I feel that the GD and TOP single was not the original plan but they realized the MADE series was losing hype and they wanted something to draw attention again. They prob had that track laying around from Vol 1, just a theory tho.
