I knew Married to the Music sounded familiar..

From Suju-M's Swing, the little instrumental bit (that I think was in the teasers as well) before the song plays at 00:31

Which in turn sounds like the chorus from Michael Jackson's Baby Be Mine at 00:56:

I always thought that Suju-M part sounded like a potential SHINee song.

I noticed since last year they've been using a LOT of funk/disco/MJ influences in their music, mostly the Kenzie and Teddy Riley productions. I really love it.

uptown funk made the mj sound trendy again

and SM's been taking full advantage of it

This is a stupid comment.

SM loves to buy samples and songs.

i am not surprised of the idea of them reusing a sample and changing things up.

There are some seconds in Champagne that make me think of View.

and usually if the makers of the song are the same, there will be similar songs.

and that MJ influence is all over kpop in sound and dance.

shinee has always done & inspired by mj since debut tho. see love like oxygen, julliete, sherlock, areumdawo, etc.

shinee has always been the unofficial mj sound-inspired sm group. if anyone ask which kpop group is most mj-like, the first group on ppl's mind would be shinee.

I don't hear the Suju-M thing at all... Swing is a completely different genre tbh.

And lol @ people in this thread acting like SM hasn't been using MJ-inspired tracks for their artists since forever, especially for SHINee. SHINee has tons of songs with MJ influence (Love Like Oxygen, Juliette, Taemin's Danger, etc - all of which were released before Uptown Funk btw).

Yeah I know that...you forgot Sherlock which was pretty similar to mj' 90s sound

But this year it's actually working to SM' advantage since that kind of sound is trendy again

My point was that this isn't new for SM, which is what it sounded like you were saying in your original comment. Sorry if I misinterpreted that.
