One source in the latest August 3, issue of Star magazine claims that ever since meeting transgender actress Jamie Clayton on the set of The Neon Demon, they haven't been able to get enough of each other..

"They're definitely smitten. "The fact the Jamie's transgender doesn't mean a thing. "Keanu likes her and respects her no matter what." An eyewitness to their July 16, date at the Chateau Marmont told the tabloid that Keanu and Jamie looked every bit the loving couple on their night out:

Why do trans-gendered people (especially women) feed into stereotypes of how a woman is supposed to look and act....I feel like a lot of them just want to be heteronormative and fit into a box that has nothing to do with LGBQ. Of course, this is not all transgendered people but if they feel they were born in a different body, then why play up the same stereotypes of being a woman???....

Heteronormativity is more about sexual orientation than gender expression. Anyway, maybe it's not just a stereotype. Maybe that's what they genuinely feel attached to. Maybe -- just maybe -- we are inclined (on a deeper level than what can merely be taught) to create some sort of gender divide, no matter what the actual expressions of it. Maybe what's wrong is not the stereotype, for the lack of a better word, but enforcing one. Maybe it would emerge even if people were free of preconceived notions about gender. I don't know. Whatever the truth, I certainly think they have the right of it.
