Ever since i got into kpop i am now able to recognize Koreans by looking at their facial features(i see models on tumblr and even before reading the names i know they're Korean. When i see Asians irl i can tell as well), before then i was ignorant and said "they all look alike" . Not only Koreans but i can also distinguis among other Asians.

Has that happened to you?

No, because I live around many different Asians.

Most Koreans don't look like Kpop idols, so it is best not to judge based what you are exposed to through Kpop.

And as far as language wise, no. As stated before, I lived around many Asians.

i don't mean based on kpop idol's looks. i mean that since i got into kpop i look into korean culture and watch documentaries and tv shows so i look at the regular people's looks.

It is still no for me. I have lived around people from all over world before I listened to Kpop. I had access to cultures through friends from school and neighbors.

I guess what I am saying is I experienced it first hand before listening to Asian music.

So it basically changed from "Asians all look the same" to "Koreans all look the same". That's a crude way of putting it, but that's the message more or less. The reason people can tell Koreans apart from other Asians is because they have those common (ie. same) looks to one another.

Koreans and Japanese seem to have their own unique looks. However, the rest of East Asians are more 'homogenous' looking, ie. those from China (minus West China and Tibet), Mongolia, Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, Far East Russian, who blend in with one another more.
