should we have some discussion in here also?

I'm wondering what type of variety shows DSP will put Hyunjoo in? I wonder if she can get by without much variety shows like Yoona or Jessica from SNSD or even Suzy who doesn't do much variety?

I'm interested to see what type of solo activities she gets as the group gets more fans and invited to more shows.

From what i've seen so far, i think Hyunjoo is kind of shy and reserved. She's the thoughtful, careful kind. That isn't really variety material but i think she has the emotional depth to become a good actress. Not to mention that face.  :ahmagah:

Yes I agree, which is why I was wondering if people think she can gain popularity without appearing on much variety shows. She wasn't that prominent in OnApril but I think she's a quiet type who doesn't seek a lot of attention, she just does her job and gets on with it.

I wonder if she was a trainee for singing all 2 years or was she an acting talent since DSP had merged/formed partnership with that one talent agency for acting. I'm still curious as to why she didn't participate in BabyKara, I have a strong suspicion that she was probably one of the first members decided for April or whatever concept of April they had going at the time and couldn't participate.

It might seem a bit cynical to say this but it's my honest opinion: i think she was accepted into DSP pretty much for her visuals, and DSP was spending that time training her from the ground-up in all-around skills - which is why she's not a particularly strong singer or dancer, and we haven't seen her acting skills yet, but every group needs that visual and sometimes in idol k-pop the visual is everything and skills just need to be basic.

Edit: oh yes and that explains, for me at least, why she wasn't in Baby Kara. 1) Kara already has a visual and needs a replacement rapper. 2) She was probably not good enough in her basic skills yet.

Well I can't say she's the strongest singer but I think she's decent in kpop terms. She's good enough to be given lines in songs IMO, and I think I need better dances from them to really judge. I think right now, I can say Yena is the strongest dancer but I feel like Hyunjoo is probably a better dancer than what Dream Candy conveys. I feel like she's the equivalent of Yoona for April right now, not the best at anything, but definitely adds something to the group.

I agree that DSP told her to sit out on Baby Kara, but I don't know what she came into DSP as in terms of "singing" or "acting" so it's hard to say. I guess we have to wait and see as April progresses how DSP shapes her image.

Totally agree with the way you put it: Hyunjoo is definitely the Yoona of April. They both debuted to great popularity with the fans despite being mainly visual and not the best at any skill, and are both on the shy side. If this trend continues, we can look forward to Hyunjoo getting acting roles and becoming a Hallyu star too!   :rlytearpls:

Interesting theory, possible although there was an interview on radio, i believe it was Arirang Sound K, where Hyunjoo said she had been with DSP for around 2 years, IIRC and assuming the translations are correct.

So our discussion has been based on the assumption that she has been a DSP trainee since late 2013 or early 2014, before Kara Project took place.

It's funny cause other rookie groups seem to get taller and taller, DSP groups tend to be shorter and cuter.  Hyunjoo is the definition if short and cute. She looks super pretty this come-back! Loved her hair in the teasers.

IKR i think it's all a part of DSP's styling. Kara was always so tiny standing beside SNSD, and even DSP's 'sexy' group (taller is usually 'sexier') Rainbow is relatively short. and now April haha. But it's also a reason i love DSP groups, it just makes them seem more authentic, natural and familiar, like some cute girls you actually know from school  :ahmagah:  :ahmagah:  :ahmagah:

It's a great gif for forum signature, but it still can't replace my 'Way and Food' sig-love unfortunately.  :._.:

EDIT: I'm thinking of collecting 'Hyunjoo and Spicy Foods' though... but still not enough contents to make another set to random sig.

Haha DJ you still have the most unique siggy i've ever seen

It may be just my opinion, but i think she makes the most likable and soothing host ever. I see radio in her future!

Hyunjoo got a good amount of lines in the snowman song! I'm happy for her! I know we speculated here that she was probably one of the least polished members coming into DSP but it seems like she's practicing hard and DSP is giving her lines that fits her voice!

And as one of those who was talking about this the most, i give my 100% stamp of approval that she has proven herself to be a competent vocalist deserving of her solo parts.  :rlytearpls:

And from what we've seen of her, we know she's a hardworking and mature individual who knows how to fight for what she wants.

Can someone teach me how to embed a Streamable link?

You need to find the mp4 file of that stream. Luckily, with that website, it is easily obtainable; as you can just right-click on the video in (https://streamable.com/evkl) and copy the video address. The video address is the mp4 extension file.

Adding a mp4 here in OH would require you to insert the URL/Filepath to a tag webm. It should look like this:

Using the webm tag will automatically play the video without sound; once so, you would need to indicate to the readers that they'd need to change the volume in order to hear the sound of the video.

Thanks DJ, like i always say, you are a true hero!

Does anyone know how I can embed those videos from Twitter here?  There is a lot of good ones @ this twitter!

https://twitter.com/sweethyunjoo I didn't see some of these posted in the main topic or anywhere else.

Also, a Hyunjoo fan-cake (is that what these are called?) for Tinkerbell release!

Glad you discovered how to embed tweets!

The cake is gorgeous, i'm sad though thinking about the possibility that they might not be allowed by their managers to actually eat such cakes they get, because of diets  :rlytearpls:
