I really like Somi; Even though she is a bit young I just feel like she will fit in Twice...

haven't stan a group in a longggggggg time, since wonder girls.. (maybe cause I'm old as dirt for it) but I am really liking all the girls so far.  Nayeon & Somi bias for now though.

I am very disappointed(?); I was kind of expecting a bit more in their singing/dancing skill. I need subtitle because I am not getting what jyp is trying to do in this episode. It is such a mess.. editing, airtime, story line; But most importantly how in the world you going to shorten some of the girls performance. Beside the one that rap (Chaeyoung I believe) and Jihyo no one really impression me at all. Even then Jihyo is beyond bull.. lack stage presence. They need to do different theme for each episodes. For example this episode should be about their singing/dancing skill. Show us what each girls got to offer in term of performance wise. While they can save (looking at you babies.. Sana & Somi, Dahyun) variety show skills for the next episode. That being said they all have this star factor tbh. Some do stand out more than others but still they all are very likable so far. 

 

 

I know it just the first episode but hopefully it improve (mnet please staphhh w/ the bad editing) With the teasers I can see visual wise who and who fit in the group but now not anymore. I might skip out on the show and just wait to see the final cut.. tbh

Agreed the editing was a mess, but the theme was pretty clear, at least to me? JYP wanted them to show what makes them a star... They all chose dance or singing/rap because that's what naturally came to their mind (they're training to do singing/rapping and dance after all). The few who chose to show something different were interesting to me, because they tried to think out of the box.

Dahyun's kkap is a winner, Sana's aegyo cooking too, and Somi's Taekwondo was good for me too (maybe she should have blended a bit more of the dancing in it but I think her idea was nice!).

So far, JYP's goal is not to show these girls can only sing or dance, he keeps emphasizing he choses idols differently from other companies, and that personality is very important to him. I don't expect them to have a vocal showdown tbh... We'll see that once they debut... Imo, successful idol groups are the ones who are good in variety shows more so than the ones who are very artistic... I can sort of understand why he is doing this survival the way he is doing it. He will compose for the girls anyway, and he knows they can hold a dance/singing stage together (he probably chose the 16 who's skills he is confident enough with)

 

Oh okay well that make sense and I also love what Somi, Sana & Dahyun did; I'm not knocking on them for it. I'm just looking to see what these girls can do w/ their singing & dancing. At the end of it all, their main things is being on stage, singing & dancing. So that is where I was going cause I know in the future episode we will get more of the girls and their other skills, personality, etc.. so I was looking forward to seeing them sing and dance to let me (us haha) see what they can do, what need improvement and such. 

 

I understand what you are saying, as a Jype stan for years I know what Jyp look for in his idols. That is very clear to me; That's why I'm saying before, each episode we can get different skills (singing, dancing, variety, personality & etc) that the girls can display. I just honestly feel like it was a messy episode overall. I wish he can do a better format for the show (Or a better editing team). If anything the first episode should've been about introducing each girls to us or at least give us a little taste of these girls characters/talent without being in front of JYP for him to judge. All that cut/shorten performance was very bad and does nothing for any of them. I guess I'm being a little harsh but I felt like if he going to do this show (do this to these girls) I want to not see it being half ass.

I have a feeling that jyp will stick w/ 7 members til the end and then maybe add in one or two member to the line up, as a surprise factor..

 

 

LOL how badly I want Twice to reach snsd and Wonder girls level and they haven't even debut yet. -.- I really cross fingers for better promotion. They doing a great job with got7 hopefully they can keep it up w/ Twice when they debut too. I can understand why jyp did this show now. He building up their fanbase.. +1 for jyp now.

This can't be true; If it is then that is a weak line up. They basically have no lead vocalist; Nayeon will not be able to carry them in term of vocal nor is any of the other girls. 

 

Taking out all three of the vocalist girls (Minyoung, Jiwon, Jihyo) you already know it bullsh*t. Unless Jyp himself will add some other trainee last minutes with killer vocal. It impossible for this group to debut w/ out a lead vocalist. i don't see it happening and if it is than that is sad..... 

 

I also believe that it will be a 8 or even 9 members group....

TBH I wasn't sure what any of these girls can bring to the table; I was a bit nervous because from all that we see solo performance wise I haven't see one that I was so impress with. But these team performance was the best so far, it show what each of these girls are capable of and what they can bring to the group. So far I like all the performance.

 

 

I was a bit taken back at how jyp choose Major A over Minor b tbh. It really make me question his direction for Twice. I am not saying that Major A team was bad but compared to Minor b it was forgettable. I'm actually happy to see Nayeon sing though, she sound great and I'm not gonna be so worry about her singing now. Jungyeon and Mina on the other hand though was a bit disappointing. Basically what I'm saying was their performance was good but it coulda been better. 

 

Minor b- So I say this quiet a lots but I don't see the hype around Tzuyu tbh; her solo performance was underwhelm. But today I can see that she is a great dancer and seem a lots more comfortable on stage. Her singing though, still need work but overall I can see her make it. Because honestly I don't understand how she is so high on the poll. Minyoung; baby girl KILL IT! I have nothing to say, she was great.. glad to know that Dahyun and Sana can hold a notes. I'm pretty surprise by Dahyun though she sound good. Their performance my favorite out of the 4

 

Major b- Jihyo kill it too (so far most of the vocalist girls is doing great and sounding great too) I love her vibe and energy. Natty voice sound to babyish for me tbh. Give her a few more years to train this girl will be freaking amazing. She's very talented for her age; but I just don't see her ready yet. I see a few people questioning about Somi.. even though I like her I question it too but this performance really show me that she can hold her own if she do debut. She sound great, so comfortable on stage; 

 

Minor a- I love their stage presence and energy and sound and move but... they seem a bit all over the place. I don't know how to say it; it didn't feel like a team performance. All the girls did great though, Momo is a hell of a dancer and if jyp cut her next... that a big lost to Twice smh. Chaeyoung is freaking amazing and I just know that she will make it. So I'm not so worry about her unless I'm wrong lol.. Jiwon did great too though she didn't seem as comfortable as the other two she hold her own.

 

 

I am very please with today episode; I was looking forward to it but seeing how all the girls cry break my heart though. Also all of them did good too; It must be hard as hell to pick.. 

 

 

But really if Jyp cut Minyoung I will slap the sh*t outta him... also Momo too; Dude she is a great dancer. The best out of all the girls period... I don't know anymore but their episode show that if Twice lose Momo and Minyoung that a really great lost :(

There so many rumor on Momo cut that I'm not surprised when it actually happen. That is really to bad, she the best dancer they have.

 

People started speculating because she was not seen at Tzuyu's and Junyeong's baseball event with the gals who are assumed to be the current major team from whatever episode they are currently filming. Though she could just be a minor now, people are saying JYP wants to get rid of her because her popularity dropped so drastically on the milk poll and she's getting bad reviews from k-netizens for "bad attitude",

oh I see; it still doesn't mean jyp will cut her though. And if he do then I can see where he is going with the line up. It actually very clearly now due to the baseball game and who in major at that point. If she is out that also a great lose her the group. Dahyun is very "it" girl, if promoted right...

Okay. So i found this today.

If JYP PLANS TO PUT ALL ELIMINATED HERE IM SO DONE

I can see Jype doing this bullsh*t esp. since sixteen is a success. I wish they can pull out like YG and SM but since they are not mention most likely. ugh *crossing fingers for them not to* jyp get your sh*t together.

 

I would honestly love this line-up tbh.

 

 

As much as I like all the girls hopefully and to god this is not the final line up. no lead/main whatever vocal is a bad start.

I can see Somi being in the line up (w/ out being bias) but also understand if she don't. even though deep down I'm wishing, curse this show for making me stan ughh I don't want my bias to be in a group just because I like her. I want to know if she can bring something to the group. If it was down to Minyoung and Somi, though I stan Somi and see her talented and imo she is ready... I will choose Minyoung.

I seriously don't understand why people are saying she hasn't shown much. Dahyun has shown more than some of the girls in there.

I think she read all the hate comments and it got in to her. 

 

JYP may criticize her but i know for sure dahyun is not gonna get eliminated.

^agreed.. I feel like the problem is as each episodes go she get overshadow by the other. And I am not talking about talented either.... I don't know how to put it w/ out getting neg or people on here calling me bitter/jealous etc. so I will keep my mouth close on that.    

 

We forget that this is a reality show, they going to edit and show bullshit to get viewers and get people talking (bad or good) They milk on Dahyun in the first few episodes now they moving on to the other girls.  So now our attention isn't on her so much. I don't know but if Jyp cut her then the second group (he talks about) is most likely to debut. There is no way he will pass on Dahyun; basically debuting her is equal to $$$$ and ya'll can say other wise but Dahyun is full package to be big.. and jyp know that. It also the same w/ Nayeon..

Because, I don't see other fans as relentless as Somi stans spamming comments about wanting her in Twice. You see in the threads here made about Sixteen her fans will always be saying things in the line of no Somi no Twice. And the way she is put on a pedestal like she is the second coming of Jesus, all talking about her potential like other girls don't have potential? I also want my faves to make it but I don't need to drag other girls name to make her look 

 

Actually it's not just Somi stans but a lot of the other girls stans do that and I see it especially a lot when it comes to Tzuyu. Basically there's this jealousy among the Sixteen girls' fans against Tzuyu, so as a Tzuyu stan it bothers me. A lot of times I come to this thread and lurk it feels so unwelcoming. But I'm sure once Twice debut all this mess will be cleared up. That's why this was more of a rant and I feel better now after I said this so I will be back to minding my own business and supporting my faves. 

 

I can see where you going with it but I stalk the beep out of this thread and I have see a few Somi fans (like two at most) have say stuff about Somi and other girls. But I never see it get so bad that it come off as relentless... am I reading the same thread or? I honestly think it weird but hey this is k-pop we talking about. There will be fans that go over the top about their bias. Oh trust me there already people on OH outside this thread that think Tzuyu fans is hella annoying. The more likable the girls is the more fans they will gain; the good and the bad one so /shrug. 

 

I love Somi and I want her to be in Twice; I think she is ready just as much an any of the other girls. So I will come back to comment and put her in my "wishful" line up. But even if she didn't make it I can also understand.

Somi team performance was hell messy, vocal wise was the worst of all the team this round. Dancing, energy, stage presence was on point but ehh vocal not so much. Somi did better but she was out of breath and as much as I love my baby she can't carry the whole group vocally. I still find Natty's voice to be to baby-ish for me, plus she don't have a wide vocal range. While Mina was almost forgettable. They honestly could've choose a better song. I don't doubt their talented because if anything Natty and Mina is great dancers but the performance wasn't doing it for me. 

 

 

Nayeon sound awesome and I am 100% more confidence that she will do well if she did end up in Twice. Also Dahyun, Tzuyu, and Minyoung was disappointing to say the least.

Serious question; Since I didn't see a lots of you put Natty in the line up. What is your honest reaction if it turn out she did end up making it? 

 

 

I was thinking about it; She might be the only one I feel that won't fit Twice and do need a bit more training compared to the other girls (taking away the whole "to young" topic) though she is an amazing dancer. hmmmmmm

I guess we all agree that major have the better song; smh. vocally major team lack a lots... Somi and Chaeyoung basically carry the performance and Chaeyoung is not even a vocalist. Minyoung was decent but boardline off; at part she sound great than at part she was completely off. It is also the same for Mina, she sound fine in the begin but fall flat near the end. I honestly felt like her vocal would've match the minor song better, her tone is not for cutey song. Sana was weak but compared to her last performance she sound a bit (and I mean very little bit) better. While Natty's voice is still to baby-ish and always sound outta place. She is such a good performer but her voice still need time. Overall I like the song it is super catchy and a very easy on the ear. The performance was fun to watch but still a eh for me. 

 

While minor did well vocally but their song was hella boring and like someone in here say felt unfinished. It like jyp just goes "oh why not" it have no personality and yes I am talking about the song. I'm surprise not a lots of us comment on Nayeon cause she werk it. She continue to do well every performance I see of her esp. if we compared it to her first solo. It is also the same with Jihyo, they are set to debut 100. I can tell jyp know that too; They shoulda give Tzuyu more singing line and not this "talking" bullshit. I'm getting that they know Tzuyu ain't all that vocally and give her something more safe. Which tbh work and it also balance out the performance. But I still woulda like to hear her sing because I think her voice fit this type of song very well. Daehyun and Chaeryeong was a bit forgettable? They didn't stand out but they didn't sound bad either. I'm still questioning Daehyun's vocal though, I don't know... Jungyeon on the other hand is always stable so basically I think she will do fine as lead vocalist if debut. So far performance wise minor win hand down and I agreed w/ jyp for picking them. They were more clean and together; Plus they sound great but the song... god..

 

 

 

I talk a lots about vocals and I am on my knee about it because all of the girls (imo) have great stage presence, good dancers, likable personality, comfortable on stage and etc. That is something I expected from a jype artists but vocals wise most of them are lacking.. some more than other. So far Nayeon, Jihyo, Somi, Chaeyoung, Jungyeon (I'm in the middle about Tzuyu/Chaeryeon) is the only one that I see is well rounded. 

 

 

 

As my for bias; I am so proud of Somi; She improve every time and whenever she on stage you can tell she love it.

Chaeryeong is simply ugly which is why a lot of ppl don't like her.  She'll probably end up being the best dancer of the bunch and has the 2nd most natural star power after Nayeon who is off the charts.  Some ppl like me don't care about looks but about talent and soul so I like her.

 

The focus on visuals by fans about this group should be on point: they're all pretty in the JYP style, which is to say they're interesting and charismatic looking.  In terms of straight beauty no JYP group is ever going to be like... say Girlfriend or the upcoming Dia, which are just the standard really really beautiful Korean girls.

 

This group is going to stand out because they're from JYP.  What JYP needs and is looking for is a combination of girls who can execute his sound and concept, not girls who are the best singers or dancers or visuals or anything else.  For example if you look at the early 2PM work... something like heartbeat isn't hard to sing literally every Kpop boyband out there could have done the singing... but not many groups could have pulled off the cringeworthy heartbeat pantomime and other nonsense onstage, let along OWNED it like taec and those guys.  He was basically looking for meathead (but friendly) frat guy types and shunted all the good singers from the show into 2AM because he couldn't abandon Jo Kwon...  but which group was more successful?  The group with all the talented singers or the group with the 2 decent singers and 1 good rapper AFTER the rapper left?

 

JYP knows what he is doing.  JYP needs the right girls in the group.  The entire point of the group, any JYP isn't to go win masked singer but to be able to do his dated cheesy music and turn it into a social phenomena like he did with 2PM and WG.

 

What's probably going to happen is what has always happened: Hyuna or Hyorin going off and being huge stars and JYP being perfectly happy with who he kept.  If he ends up cutting Dahyun or Chaeryeong for example they're  definitely going to be a massive star somewhere else

OH MY GOD! I honestly laugh out loud because there is some truth to it. It's Ouch but in a well ain't that the truth kind of way. LOL

 

(not about the part about Chaeryeon being ugly though.... but to each is their own)

Jihyo can lead vocal, Nayeon, Jungyeona and Somi can follow, Daehyun and Sana can help with variety show, personality, model, actress kinda, while I can see Tzuyu work on her dance and be lead dancer. Jyp will not lose Daehyun, trust me on this, she to much of money sign to let go. 

 

It quiet sad because all the talented dancer is all from the younger girls. Chaeryeon, Natty, Chaeyeon... then there is also Momo too. What a waste =/ if anything bring her back and make Twice into a 9 members group if I have it my way.
