Is Arashi really close as you think?

Sometimes I wonder about their actual relationship. They may look like they're close on TV but..something about them is off like they aren't really close in rl. I mean, they had this scandal with an AV actress and they literally had sex with same girl.

They are pretty vocal that they don't hang out that much with each other outside work. Jun was also seen more with his other friends, Shun and Toma during his day-offs.

I think the members just have a huge respect with each other and that's why they get along well.

Riding on this comment, Arashi don't pretend they are bffs, but they are childhood friends, colleagues, and are a part of a group together. So they aren't bffs, no, and they don't pretend to be otherwise, but they've worked with and learned to respect each other for 16 years (and even longer if counting their time as juniors).

Just a few instances when they've been vocal about it: When a fan asked Nino who he would go on vacation with from Arashi, he said no one because vacationing with an Arashi member would just remind him of work. The only Arashi member to have ever visited Ohno's home is Jun. Jun and Sho have a wide range of celebrity and private friends that they hang out with more and if asked about who they've seen recently they would just as surely cite these people than Arashi. Arashi have confessed they don't call each other privately and since it's so rare if they do receive a call from another member they think something serious has happened.

Onscreen they just work really well together, have great chemistry and group dynamics and people thus have stated that they look close.

Agreed with the two posters above. Even though I am a new fan, you need to take into account that they see each almost everyday. So while they may not hang out together outside of work (there are moments where they do though), I think it's nice to see that they have such lovely chemistry and teamwork after all these years. If they didn't, they wouldn't be together now, eh? I think their bond is cute :)

I'm gonna be echoing what everyone else on this thread has said. The guys have always made it clear that unless there's work to do there's no reason for them to meet at all and above everything else they respect each other's privacy, but when it comes to Arashi the group they always have each other's backs. To quote Ohno, "They aren't my family. They aren't friends. They are a whole different category with only these five people in it."

I get what y'all saying but if we compare them with Shinhwa..Arashi isn't really close as everyone thinks.

They're close, but it's close in a different way. I don't think that's a bad thing. And Shinhwa's situation compared to Arashi's is much different too imo.

True. Maybe it's because of their personalities? Like Arashi is close in a mature way while Shinhwa ..yeah.

Imo, It's more that Arashi see each other everyday (when they debuted). They were constantly together. Im pretty sure Shinhwa had more time to themselves than Arashi did. Also, Arashi's personalities are really different. Sometimes you just want to draw a line between your personal and professional life. But I'm pretty sure they hang out together sometimes. Unless you're Nino, where he doesn't go out at all

That made me remind the "so if they aren't that close they are nasty people bloop bloop bloop" that I often see in the K-side. Have some people hear about "business relationships", "respect" and "cordiality"?

Judging from your posts, I'm happy they are keeping it real. No need to fake anything in that regard.

Actually I'd say Shinhwa is extremely similar. Non-work interactions are rare; like Minwoo and Junjin will send texts to others if they know about their activities and stuff, like if someone is doing a drama or solo stuff. But they don't really hang out or call each other outside of work. Hyesung and the rest of Group S (Kangta and Jihoon) are closer irl than him and anyone in Shinhwa so you'll see them hang out...you see Jinnie hang out with several others and you'll see Dongwan (now famously) doing things alone etc...

Shinhwa tho have referred to each others as brothers. Arashi haven't expressed that, but they have stated just how much they value each other.

Not really lol! The only diff was that Arashi started younger as Johnnys jrs. But once Shinhwa got into SM, training and then debut...lol they were together in that dorm most of the time. And for the members whose families were in America and they couldn't visit them often, they REALLY didn't have much time to themselves.

The thing about both groups tho, when you appreciate and respect all the aspects of the ppl in your group, especially when you pair that appreciation with the comfort of knowing them for years...you get a stellar closeness that radiates when the group members are together.

In 2003.

After SME they didn't live together anymore...

Freedom~~~

i mean, it makes sense for the groups to live together especially if they don't do solo activities tbh.

I wonder if any of the current groups live in separate dorms/houses? I think SNSD probably do...
