in this case another mod and myself don't think it's unreasonable to just comment the source in the thread or tag the OP to edit their first post; direct mod editing/intervention of the first post is not necessarily needed.  if users need to be reminded of rules we can do so, but just editing the first post without telling the OP doesn't really help them remember to do it in the future.  plus, we don't really have directly stated rules about translation credit outside of the netizen nation section.  the original article was linked.  if you have comments about that, leave it in feedback and suggestions.

For now, I would like to OP it. I've started working on it. I don't have an estimated time frame for completion.

1. perhaps since it appears to initially be a resource/homework help thread, not just a language speaking thread, it was placed there back in 2013.  i'll ask other mods what they think about moving it, although i honestly don't think it will really make a difference traffic-wise whether or not it stays.

2.  said user has still been active within the last month.  if they haven't been active after the 21st, i can transfer it.

Not locked but deleted without a reason?

it was locked for over an hour before deletion but to answer your question, it was repeatedly being reported for borderline or even openly transphobic comments.  even after cleaning once, the problem persisted and the thread couldn’t be cleaned again without removing an entire page’s worth of comments.  once a thread reaches that extent we remove.

I don't mind being mass-clowned or even disliked  if my posts are random, offensive and not news-related.
But being mass-clowned for being serious about a report abt a murder incident and for asking a user to not go off-topic is very disturbing.  
I only clowned one user bc they admitted they were not being serious in their posts in that thread. 
I didn't even fight them or call them names. I just asked them to stay on-topic and even asked them to address any valid concerns about my thread to the mods.  

i cleaned the posts about duplication since they’re derailing the subject of the thread.  if there’s any continuous strange reputation activity, let us know.

I think this falls in the "Trolling/Antagonizing - 1-5 points + Account Restrictions" category since it has "bashing" and it was "made to offend other users" (I was directly mentionend there).

i saw your comment about threads about other users being not allowed, which is true but this is about a twitter user, not a member of OH.  so it's a bit of a different case.

comments that directly tag users with the intent to start something have been and will be removed (and otherwise handled if necessary).  otherwise, i honestly don't think this falls under the trolling category.  perhaps you can ask another mod or admin for a second opinion but the content of the thread itself is simply stating something that factually happened (i.e. a twitter account made an apology regarding a viral tweet)
