Should idols lower the song key for live performances?

A lot of Western artists do this to make the song easier to sing, I feel like this would be especially useful in kpop since they have choreography. It'll help the ones with less stamina and the ones that have trouble reaching certain notes while dancing. But kpop companies are so intent on sticking as closely to the original as possible. What yall think?

I honestly don't see the problem with groups lip-synching , I DON'T. Like it makes the performance better, the artists don't sound out of breath, they can dance to their full capability. For me, the experience is more important than singing live.

But no one wants to see lip syncing to tame choreography like Mr.Mr. or Ring My Bell. I think that applies more to boy groups and certain girl group songs like Mamma Mia and I Got A Boy.

Yus. Especially if they're not great live performers... AND THE SONG IS HIGH PITCHED AF

Choa's voice is probably shot by now.  :soul:

I was a bit disappointed tbh

This is another issue, all that high singing can tire out their voices. I'm always worried for vocalists like Leo and Taeyeon.

I'm not sure why 90% of girl group songs are pitched so high to begin with. I'd almost like to see a study done about this, lol.

Probably because they are catered to the main vocalist who is usually a soprano. See SISTAR songs for example. Dasom is an alto but is forced to sing in a higher tone because the song is tailored to Hyolyn's vocal range.

where did you read she's an ... alto ? (you would actually mean contralto since alto isnt a voice type)

maybe

if they're going to butcher it in the original

most people can't tell anyway

that being said lowering keys is a huge pet peeve of mine

once i listen to the original (sometimes the original isn't even the original) i can't unstick it in my head

if they can't sing it live without tinkering with the song then they should make the studio version lower too

I'd have to disagree. I find it to be the opposite when it comes to live performances. The idols put in more effort into their performance when they sing live. Good examples would be all SM groups, since they usually lip sync during their comeback stages. That's why I usually wait for the second week of promos for SM groups.
