So.. I keep on repeating the video (just like you all LOL), trying to make sense of the captions and what have you.. and I think I'm starting to have better sense of what's going on.

 

So when Hodong was introduced as Zhu Bajie.. his caption says he is a peace loving character (while he was running after Sugeun ready to hit him for teasing him.. and same with Jiwon for doing the same. Unfortunately for jiwon he got really hit. XD)

 

Then Jiwon as the crazy Sha Wujing.. and when he goes crazy, Zhu Bajie Hyung is there. :D (showing jiwon saying something and Hodong just gave him that serious look) and Jiwon's like.. "Just looking at him puts me in pain." 

 

I can't stop watching Seunggi's mukbang.. hohoho seeing him stuff his face with food makes me hungry~!!

There's also the part where Jiwon's sitting alone looking blank.. he has that scooter again with him. And LOL naughty jiwon pressing that control he has and giving Sugeun a shock quite a lot. Eun Choding is unstoppable.

 

 

 

My favorite part>>when the woman styles sugeun hyung's hair. And the prince brothers were laughing because she works too fast..hahaha and sugeun hyung said if his ears was still intact. Hahaahhaahh

I made this post since I saw someone said at somewhere (this thread or Lee Seung Gi's thread?) that PD Na and the members do the show with one of the purposes is to erase or to wash some members' sins.

It's not like that. PD Na talked abt that last week, he even showed some annoyance over the topic "mistake& condone" that was supposed the main goal of the show by some journalists, through his answer saying the phrase "again and again". He said that despite he said it a lot of times before but he must say it again, that although he said abt "sins" before and one of their choices to broadcast the show through internet was because they wanted the viewers would able to choose it properly by themselves to watch the show or not for the sake of their comfort, however he and the members never wanted to do yet wish the viewers would watch the show with any code called "mistake& condone" in their mind. He said that at some times it might be seen a bit through their sincerely conversations as friends through the show, but it's never their purpose. He emphasised that the main and the only purpose he and the old 1N2D members decided to do this show was always  to be able to bring for the viewers as much laughs as possible. That "they do the show in order to beg some sympathy from the viewers or to wash their crime images" would never be the case. That the viewers can enjoy their show as pleasurably as better is their only and only wish, it's considered so enough as the greatest favor for them since at least they can think abt themselves as entertainers with a relief that "ah, at least we're not that helpless as an entertainer, at least we're still able to bring some laugh to the viewers to pay back".

To Fiona, whoever said that (maybe me) meant it from the novel's main element. In JttW -book- the characters left to wash their sins, this is pure guess from the novel alone. We never meant "begging the viewers", and thank you for giving us a brief of Na PD's interview, been wondering what he was saying ^^

Classic 1N2D hijinks in New Journey to the West

 

 

The first teaser is out for Na PD’s new experimental web variety show New Journey to the West, starring former 1 Night 2 Days members Kang Ho-dong, Lee Seung-gi, Lee Su-geun, and Eun Ji-won on a 5-day reunion trip to China. The series will be aired online via Naver TVcast, and the teaser opens with Kang Ho-dong asking, “What’s an internet broadcast? What are you going to do with the internet? I feel like I’m going to shoot the show but not be able to watch it. I have to be able to watch myself, right?â€

 

 

Ji-won adds that his dad was excited about them reuniting for a new show and asked where he could watch it. Ji-won: “You can’t. Dad, you can’t watch it.†LOL. I’m glad I’m not the only one wondering how everyone will watch this show, because conceptually I like the idea (and the freedom) of new media, but yunno, will my grandma be able to watch the show? The teaser follows up with the caption: “Pleeeease tell your parents how to watch this show.â€

 

 

I’m glad to see that the trip isn’t just them sightseeing (because what would be the fun of that?), and they’re back to playing games for food in classic 1N2D fashion. The boys endlessly tease Ho-dong for doing things the old way, and Su-geun spends a lot of time being punished in various ways like being electrocuted, or my favorite — suggesting a punishment haircut and then being the one to lose.

 

The show plays on the narrative from the Chinese novel Journey to the West, in which a monk leads three characters on a pilgrimage to atone for their sins. Seung-gi plays the monk, of course, and even when he’s stuffing his face with food, the captions say it’s because he’s worried about the three disciples in his care.

Ji-won seems exactly the same as always, picking fights with Na PD over game rules: “You didn’t say 1, 2, 3 and THEN ddeng!†and getting hit so often by Ho-dong that he starts feeling phantom pains when he knows he’s about to be hit. Ho-dong says that he’s going to pretend the cameras aren’t there and just enjoy the trip with the guys, which I don’t think he’s actually capable of, but okay.

 

Seung-gi asks Na PD, “You’re not going to not feed us this time or anything, right?†Cut to: Na PD slooooowly enjoying a delicious dish in front of Ji-won, who watches and gripes, “Do you really have to eat in front of me?†Heh. And at the end of the teaser, Su-geun sees a man eating street food and asks, “How do you say, ‘just one bite’ in Chinese?â€

 

The captions say that they’ll: “Run like Running Man, exercise like Neighborhood Variety Sports, and sightsee like Youths Over Flowers. We don’t know exactly what it is, but we hope it’s funny. Real makjang action adventure.†I mostly get a Youths Over Flowers vibe from the show, since it’s pretty much four longtime friends on a budget backpacking trip. And I don’t think lacking for funny will be a problem.

“New Journey to the West†Trailer Revealed

 

 

The first teaser of “New Journey to the West†was revealed through Naver. The four characters Kang Ho Dong, Lee Seung Gi, Eun Ji Won, and Lee Soo Geun seem to get along well with each other, as they are shown traveling Xi’an while playing various games. Lee Seung Gi is seen showing unexpected leadership towards his elder co-cast members, and Kang Ho Dong can be seen yelling out “Zhu Baijieâ€, which is the name of the pig in the novel “Journey to the west.â€

 

“New Journey to the West†will have its cast play one of the characters from the classic Chinese novel “Journey to the West.â€

 

Lee Seung Gi plays Xuanzang (a Buddhist monk in the novel) and worries constantly about the monsters (referring to his co-cast members) who don’t listen to him, Lee Soo Geun plays Sun Wukong (a monkey character), Eun Ji Won plays Sha Wujing (a celestial being), and Kang Ho Dong plays Zhu Baijie (a pig character).

 

The members will travel China for five days, and as they are close friends who can read each others’ thoughts just by looking at each other, Producer Na Young Seok explained that they are “striving for the contents that everyone can enjoy.â€
