I think I know why the lyrics to the English version of The Boys don't make sense

So I was listening to the You Think demo for the millionth time and still failing to understand what she's saying at certain parts and I thought, "is she even actually saying something here or is it just gibberish" and it clicked in my mind...

Maybe The Boys wasn't meant to be recorded in English at first. A lot of producers compose demos with nonsense lyrics and give it to a more talented writer later. That's probably what happened when Teddy Riley wrote The Boys, and SM just decided to run with it because they're lazy and lyrics don't matter anyway right?

Then they had Tiffany write a few raps and that was it.

I just walk that way

I run it, I rule it, I made it. Baby "what what what, how she got that way"

_________ Im the hottest and the coolest. Gets strung by the hater. Im gonna see you later.

Im chop chop them up. Put my shades on i was born that way.

She was talking a lot of gibrish. I worry if SM lyric people could even understand her too.

I know life is a mystery,

i'm gonna make history

i'm taking it from the start

Call all emergency

i'm watching the phone ring

i'm feeling this in my heart

In korean it's such an inspiring song, in english I just wanna hit a damn wall, this is terrible seriously.

Wanna know their secrets?  Just know that they'll never tell.

On a serious note though yeah the lyrics didn't make sense at all. It's like there was different stories with each line and it was disconncected.

The korean lyrics were completely different. Maybe they didn't expect Westerners to pay attention to the lyrics?
