Real talk: why do I-fans expect to be catered to so much?

I'm not trying to be shady, I am just legitimately wondering what you guys think.

Korea's culture is completely different from most of the cultures around the world. They are a homogeneous country with some very traditional and old-fashioned views. Everyone who has been a kpop fan for more than a week knows this. I mean, we all know that the main source of income for most idol groups is i-fans because we contribute a lot to their sales. But why do so many of us expect our particular culture and views to be catered to?

In light of a series of recent events, I've noticed something. When k-fans feel something is a big scandal based on their social views, i-fans that do not agree have no problem saying k-fans are over reacting and that they are stupid for feeling that way . But then, on the reverse side, we flame and drag idols for saying something that offends us and not Korea.

Is this not hypocrisy in it's purest form?

Of course idols need to be more conscious of ALL their fans, they need to be careful with their words and actions because the whole world is watching. But sometimes I think when they make that one little remark that sends everyone into an uproar, they just aren't thinking. They aren't thinking of the thousands of fans of different races when they make one snappy comment to a group mate. I truly think all of their ingrained views on skin tone and whatnot just slip out because that's what they were raised thinking, that's what their culture has always told them.

Now everybody has a right to feel the way they want on a particular topic or situation, but honestly, kpop fans do the fucking most. Literally, look at yourselves. Please. Really think logically. I honestly feel like some people don't really think. They don't look at a whole situation and just think. It's either mindless shielding or mindless bashing and i'm sick of such one track mentalities. Some people have very valid opinions that I just don't agree with but can respect. But some people are just so extra.  I don't really like how some have such a "he said one offensive thing, he's trash" mentality. It's like nothing else they worked so hard to build up, none of the good things they've said, none of their good actions matter because of one thing.

I didn't make anything specific so don't act like this is an "oppa didn't mean it" post, because it honestly is not.

I hope you all can understand my thoughts and can logically discuss this with me.

expecting people to show at least the bare minimum of decency in some situations is not too much to ask ,"homogenous country" or not.

i'm not one of those people that will look at one thing an idol did and then label them as irredeemable trash (unless it's rape/pedophilia/murder/things like that) but i do think criticism is warranted sometimes and y'all need to stop acting like no one allowed to shit on your oppa and then go about their business. fuckery should be acknowledged when it happens.

I saw the sentence  "something something in korea" (more or less) and I'm just gonna say people are more angry and shocked coz they know namjoon knows better. And what he said was wrong so that's  why I-fans aren't happy

That is all

Edit : just remembered apparently jin and v said some racist stuff , my bad

Enough... stop treating Korea like some sacred land where people aren't woke. Traditional views can only be change if we actually educate idols on the shit they spill on a daily basis. The mentality that "Korea doesn't know better!" is so backwards and doesn't help anything.

LOOOL, he said a colorist statement, acknowledge it was wrong and quit playing the "Korea is another culture, you don't understand" card. Are you even Korean? You can like something problematic!!!!
