Despite being 23, I'm still pampered as though I were a tiny child and to be honest, I like it. There are issues sometimes, sometimes big ones, but I'm generally extremely spoiled in that I'm well supported and loved. This doesn't mean I have everything, but one doesn't have to have everything to qualify ^^

My dad spoiled me so much/still does because i'm his only daughter + the youngest. But he's always been firm on making sure I know the value of money, am independent and mindful of how to treat others, etc. so i'm not lazy, ungrateful or expect people to buy me things. I worked hard to put myself through school (came out loan free + extra money on the side) and buy the things I want. So much so it feels weird asking someone to buy me something now.

(Even though dad will do it regardless of whether I tell him not to. :chu: )

Well despite being the first-born, I wasn't given that much when I was a child-- my parents weren't rich. I played outside with my friends most of the time because I only had a few toys which I all grew tired of. Now I'm a young adult, the eldest of four, family's richer, I'm certainly getting more things my way... except my youngest sibling-- who is in my opinion totally spoiled... I mean what kid thinks 200 euro's is cheap for a Nintendo DS? Yep, my brother. We're not even that wealthy. But I get the impression my brother thinks we own a million or something.

My youngest brother has the wealthiest childhood out of us all four and the most content life-- well not really, because he's never content with what he has. It's that extreme. My other siblings-- who are in the middle, gets the least. My eldest brother even gets the most blame and is shamed upon many times by my mother, saying he's stupid, useless and stuff.

I blame this on the upbringing, of course. Since my parents became wealthier, they care less for the family. My youngest brother almost always has it his way, even when he's asking it rudely. Whenever I hear one of his friends got grounded, I get jealous-- because my brother never gets punishments for his wrongdoings, he never learns. And when, for once, he gets a punishment-- he wouldn't even follow.

Sorry I'm ranting I see. Sometimes I'm just really pissed at my parents... Sometimes. I'm grateful for what I'm given by them.

My parents both grew up poor and a lot of their family still lives in poverty, so compared to that, I feel like I grew up spoiled.  I mean, I always had a bike to ride and the repo man never visited us.  However, my family never had money and pay check to pay check was a reality for most of my childhood so I don't think I did overall.  I was just taught that nothing is free and if you work for it, you can obtain what you want.

That said, when I had a rough time when I first moved out my mom did loan me $50 a few times so I could have food and gas.  I always paid her back within two weeks, but that was such a blessing that they didn't have to do.
