What do you get from defending your fave/bias etc

I feel bad when someone bashes my bias, so of course I'd defend him! Baekhyunie doesn't deserve to be hated!

I feel like I wouldn't get anything from it, so I wouldn't bother doing it. Most people are too stubborn and just want to think that they're right, so it would benefit me about as much as if the person I was defending my bias from was a wall. Of course, if someone was open for some real discussion and debate instead of just wanting to insist they're right then I'd probably gain a lot from that. I'd gain an understanding of their viewpoint and they'd gain more insight into mine as well.

Going through some of the arguments on this site, I see your point

when they suck, or when their over-praised

I tend to defend my biases when I see someone writes something false about them.

I don't really bash another groups because fans are so crazy that even if I write something nicely I get dragged and I don't have the time nor patience to engage in fights.

When someone writes dumb stuff that doesn't make sense or it's straight-up fake then I defend

I don't bash groups really

I never bash groups but I do defend my bias/bias group when I feel like he/they needs defending. I feel like it's only natural. When someone is bashing someone you support and the person you support didn't do anything wrong then at least, for me personally, I feel the need to stick up for them. Sure people are stubborn and you may not sway their opinion. But if you present them with facts and show them your view point, other people, who may have straight up believed the comment said against you fave, may be less inclined to believe it because you presented a counter-argument and presumably more evidence because you probably know more about your fave then they person hating on them.
