Opinion on Rap in Kpop Songs?

Nowadays, rap seems to be a staple of kpop songs. Anyone else feel like rap parts sometimes are simply there just because there's a rapper in the group? aka Not every song need to have rap in it?

If the rappers are legit skilled and it fits the song, I'm all for it, but sometimes I feel like it's just thrown in and often very abrupt. {of course this excludes hip-hop groups}

For instance, one of my favorite comebacks so far is BTOB's "It's Okay". As opposed to the typical catchy kpop song, I feel like this is truly music. The vocals are absolutely amazing and I feel there should've been more singing. {not saying Minhyuk/Ilhoon/Penial aren't good rappers! O.o}.

Yes, most Sistar songs are like this. Not every group needs are rapper, especially when they're not great at it. It's why talented idol rappers have such a negative stigma because they are lumped into group with people who aren't that great at their craft.

Some of them I think help the song/add something to it, for a recent example I'll go with 9Muses's Hurt Locker, I always like Erin's raps. But for other songs, it either doesn't really add to the song (KARA Cupid) or hurts the song (most ballads).
