Yeah, I knew they were onl trained by CUBE, not that the album was also produced by them.... Anyway, they aren't part of CUBE artists so it's kinda normal they aren't included? Imagine the pain the entertainment company would get from pink pandas if M4M was included and not Apink?

Well M4M could be listed under Cube DC which would make it fine. Also I'm just saying its wasted opportunity to promote them in China which is the market they're catered for.

Cube VP: "4minute are receiving love calls from Europe and China. G.NA is currently learning Mandarin."

I think this is good because people may not want to hear it but 4Minute and G.NA have honestly peaked in Korea. 4Minute always had appeal in Europe. It'd be nice to see what kind of draw they could bring out in Korea with a solo concert but I'm sure the members themselves wouldn't mind touring Europe and traveling. G.NA's said in the past she didn't really want to tackle the American market so China makes sense considering how hard it is to make it in Japan.

Do you think so ? for 4minute I think they can still reinvented themselves they just need the good concept and music as for promotion  I will not talk about that don't want to raise my hopes too much. As for GNA I am little bit sad Cube totally missed an opportunity with for this comeback it's like they don't know what to do with her so they experiment. If she has a chance in China she should go for it 4minute too.

Maybe a new producer again would be good for 4Minute. I don't know if it was timing, the song choice, or lack of good promoting by Cube but their last comeback did very subpar in my opinion after what was suppose to be their breakthrough last year.

i hope they learned something this time and include chinese member to their girl group

it's profitable to the group popularity to add foreigners..

anyway, i'm excited for this debut  :chu:

I could be wrong but I don't think Cube has any female Chinese trainees are the moment. Sorn is Thai though and I think she's pretty much a given since she already has a contract with Cube. M4M's company and Cube were holding auditions last year but I can't imagine they'd debut someone that fast.

[MBN Star] Cube trainee, Kim HyoJong discovered different charms through back dancer experience

“As I experience the stage as a trainee, I’ve found my undiscovered charms.â€

Cube Entertainment that houses BEAST, 4minute and G.NA, has recently garnered attention for having trainees to promote alongside their artists. Their pretty visuals and slender bodies had garnered strong attention from the public. The same goes for G.NA’s male back dancers as well.

Among the many of them, Kim HyoJong (20 years old) expressed the reason of being a back dancer, the process and also his thoughts on concluding the promotions. Kim HyoJong has been with Cube for more than a year, attending specific classes and training during his year as a trainee.

image_readtop_2014_973510_14048821701420

As he receives lessons on a variety of aspects – vocals, raps, dance, acting, English, and health management, Kim HyoJong gave his best every day even though the possibility of debuting in the music industry is still a far-away unknown. But Kim HyoJong sees his trainee life as an enjoyment rather than an obligation.

“There are always interesting happenings. I trained with friends that are trainees like me, and it is an interesting experience. We have weekly and monthly evaluations, where we will be given a mission. As we complete these missions, we would communicate with each other and talk about music… I like it and it’s always very joyful.â€

He did not want to be a singer from the start. But as he danced and developed his self-confidence on music in his schooling days, Kim HyoJong eventually started to have keen interest on music. He was eliminated from the first Cube Entertainment audition, but his dedication allowed him to earn a place as a trainee in the following audition. Kim HyoJong, who intends on entering Cube Entertainment, is confident that his personally-produced music will be presented to the mainstream audience.

“Of course I want to debut soon. I have no idea when is that, but I’m going to find my own identity. I’m interested in producing, so I’ve been practicing on writing and composing songs. I’m putting in my full efforts for now… as I wait for that day to come.â€

image_readmed_2014_973510_14048821701420

The opportunity to stand on stage doesn’t come easily and is never in line with the hard efforts they’ve given. But Cube had allowed them to earn these experience by providing them the chance to work with sunbaes of the same company. Kim HyoJung, too, has gained this special opportunity to work with G.NA as her back dancer.

“It’s really different seeing in reality and seeing through cameras. I think we have learnt a little on how to portray ourselves on TV, like which hairstyle to choose, how should we smile on stage. My parents watched my performance, and commented that my expression was weird. They joked over it and also gave useful tips to me.â€

It’s important to work with colleagues of the same company. Seniors have to practice and help the juniors to portray themselves on stage. In particular, G.NA had given plenty of advice to backdancer-cum-junior-and-trainee Kim HyoJong. She is a senior that approaches trainees like their siblings.

“I’m really thankful to G.NA-sunbae. We don’t see much of artists yet, but they seemed to be friendly people. (G.NA) Has treated us like younger siblings, and had even shared valuable advice when she was a trainee, and things that need to be considered after debut. Of course, I will never forget about all the meals she had treated us (laughs). Next time round, I would want to stand on the same stage as G.NA-senior. Not as a trainee,  but as a real singer.â€

CUBE as a company is second as for albums sold in the first half of the year

cr: http://kpopsales.blogspot.ca/2014/07/gaon-2014-mid-year-company-physical.html

Top 5 Companies:
1) SM: 1,531,703 [9++]
2) CUBE: 250,717 [5.5]
3) YG: 175,260 [3++]
4) TS: 149,888 [2.5]
5) FNC: 133,747 [3]

that 5.5 is for the total of albums released till June (Rain, BTOB, 4M, B2ST + Rain Repack)

That includes A Pink too but very nice. They always end up pretty high on that list actually because for the most part all the groups release at least one physical album and if Cube follows through with their proposed schedule, we'll actually be getting second comebacks in the latter half of the year for once. Not that he would be included with Cube (Maybe iHQ) but I wonder how Jay would sell physically. He hasn't released a physical album in 2 1/2 years but New Breed sold 90,000+.

Thank you! By the way, who are they going up against in Singer Gane?

I think like a team of older singers and not a company per say but I could be wrong. Haven't read anything just seen some preview clips.

any idea who is coming back after Hyuna? Btob?

Seems likely and honestly Roh Jihoon's picture doesn't mean much. Everyone's constantly practicing. I still think Cube should debut him with a boy group as the leader and have him promote solo afterwards once they're a bit more popular. He's only 24 so that's a good 4-5 years of activity.

[ilGan Sports] Cube’s Vice President Noh HyunTae, “‘Order and Discipline Within Freedom’ is our Mottoâ€

htm_20140717114135636.jpg

T/N: This article assumes that Cube Entertainment will be going on a listing with WooriSpac2 soon. Recent news, however, stated that Cube will not be cooperating with WooriSPAC2 due to internal problems. Listing process may therefore be delayed.)

Cube Entertainment is a prominent KPOP global brand that has seen visible growth. Founded in 2008, the relatively new entertainment agency has been making remarkable expansion, and is now standing shoulder to shoulder with SM, YG and JYP Entertainment. Currently, Cube Entertainment houses singers BEAST, 4minute, BTOB, unit group Trouble Maker, gagman Kim Kiri, including Rain, Roh JiHoon, Shin JiHoon, actor Kwak SeungNam in their wholly-owned subsidiary, Cube DC. Cube Entertainment has gained a sales revenue of 22.9b Won last year.

Recently, BEAST has accelerated their promotions in Japan. Last year, they signed an agreement with one of Japan’s largest advertisement company, Hakuhodo DY Media Partners, which were a subsidiary of Hakuhodo DY Group, with a guranteed 8b Won of income. This momentum has driven them to make an entrance to the stock market. We have met up with Cube Entertainment’s Vice President Noh HyunTae to discover the burning motivation of Cube Entertainment that fuels their ever-growing pace.

- The company has been founded for 6 years, and listing on the stock market is right before your eyes.

“This is as a result of President Hong SeungSong’s know-hows and network, employee’s passions and artists’ sincerity coming altogether. In the past 6 years, if we were to describe Cube, you may perhaps call it as ‘a  light that never dies’. The company was always running and continuously challenging to run further. In order to preserve Cube’s identity, which is ‘to be different from the rest’, we have attempted new challenges. As such, being ‘the first’ has a very deep meaning for us. We were the first entertainment agency to hold a KPOP Concert ‘United Cube’ (2011) in South America, our first unit group Trouble Maker (2011) was launched successfully too. 4minute even became the first girl group to hold a solo concert in Europe (2014). As we attempt, there were many errors and problems too, but it was an exciting and priceless experience. It is intriguing and therefore, we work even harder.â€

htm_20140717114143015.jpg

- What is Cube’s motto?

“It’s order and discipline within freedom. Cube is rather a family-like community. Artists and staff communicate with each other very often. President Hong often talks with artists at the same eye level, to gain more understanding and feedback. Therefore, BEAST, 4minute and others often refer him as ‘Father’. Although we do emphasize on a free atmosphere, we have a strong awareness of being different from the others, and that raises our strict requirements.â€

- Other than BEAST or 4minute, Cube’s future may need to depend on rookies as well.

“That’s true. As we lead with groups like BEAST, we have to raise rookies too. We have about 20 trainees whose age ranges from primary 3rd year friend to teenagers in the early 20s. Though we have yet to decide on a date to debut a new girl group, we are in our final phase in setting up the team. We are also in the midst of setting up a male rookie team.â€

htm_20140717114149832.jpg

- What would be the strength of Cube’s training system?

“I personally think that it’s humanity classes. In reality, technical classes like dance or vocals doesn’t make a difference with other companies. Other than raising stars with a global brand name, we emphasize on bearing a responsibility for the society. Therefore, we do volunteering works and have psychology and sex education classes. We started on charitable works primarily because of fans. As a token of appreciation for fans’ loves, we cultivate trainees to have a mindset to give back to the society. We do free concerts for hospitals, orphanages and many more welfare societies. If time is a concern, we would go to around CheongDamDong, which is near our office, to litter-pick. Also, because of the frequent visits overseas, we would teach them culture and etiquette of each country. Since we can’t afford to make mistakes. We teach sex education and provide counselling services on a regular basis. Although these may seem minor, it is important for trainees who debut at a later stage, so that they can grow into artists that do not forget about their priorities. An artist who has excellent techniques will fall if their inner self is not cultivate properly.â€

â€“ If you were to describe KPOP’s future?

“I think that KPOP has a bright prospect. Although it has slowed down in the Japan market, there are teams that are achieving consistent results. The direction in Japan my seem uncertain for now, but I do not think that it will drop further. Due to political matters, the fandom could have decreased, but the remained are loyal fans. Other than Japan, the opportunity to expand is limitless, we have China, South East Asia and even Europe for us to explore further.

htm_20140717114158896.jpg

- What about the future of Cube Entertainment?

“We will be delivering many favorable news. In particular in regards to the new overseas market. First of all, BEAST and 4minute have captivated the South East Asia market since their debut. Although BEAST has lesser promotions in Japan due to local activities for the time being, their new single ‘Adrenaline’ has charted #2 on Oricon charts. With passionate responses from Japan, we will deliver more  news on Japan activities in the second half-year. Also, do anticipate BTOB and the upcoming rookies’ activities.â€

- Will you be diversifying your business like SM or YG in the future?

“Yes. Just, in order to maintain sustainability and to improve our business success rate, we will prepare more earnestly first (before doing so). Through our cooperation with iHQ, do expect our synergy in drama productions too. Cube Cafe are currently in works to enter into the foreign market. We wish to come up with more fun and exciting things.â€

Cube's been promising second comebacks for their artists for years and it hasn't happened. Second half of year = Pushed back to early next year because of award season. By then everybody forgets that Cube promised this or that. I'll believe it when I see it. It's frustrating because instead of resorting to using someone like Brave Brothers to try and up their artist's popularity they could simply promote more often. Its a strategy that's worked in the past (Beast) and all smaller companies have using. Cube certainly has the resources to give their artists more comebacks especially with the merger. It's like their executives have no clue how to approach the market when casual fans like us can clearly see the path they need to take.

B.A.P - 2012

I think part of the problem is Cube resting on their laurels. They've shown it time and time again of being satisfied with where their artists are at and pushing "safer" concepts except for Hyuna or Trouble Maker. Another thing they seem to prioritize is international promotion because Hong Seung Sung believes that the Korean market is becoming saturated and there's better opportunities abroad. I agree that its a lot harder to break it in the Korean market now but more so if you're from a smaller company. A company like Cube should still be able to gather fans in Korea easily. I think Cube fans just find it frustrating because we know every artist could even be more popular with the right promotion and marketing. That's probably the case for more K-Pop fandoms though. Always something to nitpick about.

A Pink’s Park Cho Rong Thanks Jung Eun Ji for Acting Advice

Making her official drama debut through Plus Nine Boys, Park Cho Rong thanked her fellow A Pink member Jung Eun Ji.

During the press conference for tvN’s new drama Plus Nine Boys on August 25, Park Cho Rong said, â€œJung Eun Ji has been giving me a lot of acting advice as my sunbae in acting.â€

Jung Eun Ji starred in dramas Reply 1997, That Winter, The Wind Blows and Trot Lovers, setting her place as an idol actress. Park Cho Rong also has also acted in a sitcom but has relatively less experience in acting.

About this, Park Cho Rong said, â€œI’m just starting out now so I have no room to feel a sense of competition. I’ve been learning a lot by watching Jung Eun Ji’s dramas.â€

Park Cho Rong hopes to take after Jung Eun Ji’s strength and style in acting.

Park Cho Rong said, â€œIt’s difficult for me but when I watch Jung Eun Ji in Trot Lovers or in Reply 1997, she acts in a very comfortable way. I’ve been preparing my project by using that as my reference.â€

BTOB′s Yook Sung Jae Shares Members’ Response to Upcoming Drama

BTOB’s Yook Sung Jae shared the fellow BTOB members’ changed attitude towards Plus Nine Boys.

During the press conference for tvN’s Plus Nine Boys on August 25, Yook Sung Jae confessed, â€œWhen I was first cast in Plus Nine Boys, the members didn’t really respond positively.â€

He continued, â€œWhen after watching the preview for Plus Nine Boys, the members began showing interest by telling me that the drama will do well. Now, whenever there is filming scheduled, they wake me up in the morning or give me supplements to take care of my health.â€

He also shared on challenging himself by acting in a drama.

He said, â€œI’ve been working hard to practice acting as much as I practice singing. I will focus on committing to the scripts, instead of adding in poor adlibs.â€

In the drama, Yook Sung Jae will be acting as a nineteen-year-old judo player ‘Kang Min Gu.’ While preparing to enter a prestigious university for judo, he will fall in love at first sight with ‘Han Soo Ah’ (Park Cho Rong). He will go through a difficult 19th year by facing obstacles with both love and college admissions.

The drama is set to air on August 29.

BTOB’s Yook Sungjae Was Cast for “Plus Nine Boys†Thanks to His Handsome Looks

Yoo Hak Chan PD of tvN’s “Plus Nine Boys†has revealed the reason for casting male group BTOB‘s Yook Sungjae for the upcoming drama.

On August 25, the drama held its official press conference at the Imperial Palace Hotel located in Gangnam, Seoul.

When asked to share his thoughts on the charismatic cast, Yoo Hak Chan PD praised the BTOB member’s looks, â€œYook Sung Jae is seriously handsome. He is well aware of it too.â€

“He has a Western facial structure that is rare in Korea. I chose him based on his looks,†the PD laughed, and added, â€œAs for his acting, I saw him on ‘Reply 1994‘ as Sook Sook.â€

Kim Young Kwang and Yook Sungjae Show Off Their Abs in “Plus Nine Boys†Stills

1447583_original.jpg

Actors Kim Young Kwang and Yook Sungjae’s recent stills are giving them the name of “visual brothers†in the upcoming tvN drama “Plus Nine Boys.â€

Both actors showed off their manly charms with their shirtless bodies in the recent stills. The two will be portraying the roles of brothers with an age difference of 10 years.

In the released stills, Kim Young Kwang is at a swimming pool. As a model-turned-actor, his broad shoulders and perfect proportions are impeccable. On the other hand, Yook Sungjae is showing off his charisma at a judo gymnasium.

In the drama, Kim Young Kwang and Yook Sungjae will be portraying the roles of a 20s male representative and a teen male representative, respectively. First, Kim Young Kwang is the attractive 29-year-old tour planner Kang Jin Goo. Kang Jin Goo is a free spirit that works at the nation’s first major travel agency. Within the company, he is the perfect man with looks and intelligence. However, his only issue his is inability to catch the heart of Ma Se Young (portrayed by Kyung Soo Jin), and this becomes his major struggle.

On the other hand, Yook Sungjae plays the judo athlete Kang Min Goo. As a 19-year-old, which is apparently when the blood is hottest for growing males, Kang Min Goo is passionate, charming, and has a huge appetite. His dream is to go to an elite college for judo, but ends up experiencing his greatest crisis at the most critical moment. One day, he meets his destiny Han Soo Ah (A Pink’s Park Chorong) and falls for her instantly. He is expected to experience a passionate love that he has not experienced before. Yook Sung Jae has been falling into his role by learning and training for judo so he can better portray his character. His transformation into the manliest man is highly anticipated.

The drama “Plus Nine Boys†will be about the unlucky romances of 9-year-old, 19-year-old, 29-year-old, and 39-year-old males (in Korea, the superstition is that if there is a “9†in your age, you will experience a crisis—thus they are called the “critical 9†years). It will also star Oh Jung Se, Yoo Da In, and child actors Choi Ro Woon, and Lee Chae Mi. The purpose of the drama is to express our daily lives and relationships through the family of men that are all experiencing the “critical 9†in their lives. The script will be written by Park Yoo Mi, who writes the scripts for KBS “Sponge†and MBC “We Got Married Season 4,†among others. It will be directed by Yoo Hak Chan, who also directed tvN “The Romantic†and “Three Fools†among other variety shows. He also co-directed last year’s big hit drama, “Reply 1994.†Fans are anticipating his wit in his continuation of comical drama series on tvN.

That's disappointing about Shin Jihoon, I remember her debut did fairly decent on Melon. She's young though and her voice is going to continue to mature and she's probably taking lessons at Cube still.

I don't think there was anything of Cube's earnings reported because they're not public yet. The only time we really ever got a look into how much Cube makes was following the iHQ merger.

[1st Look] (Kikwang mentions JunHyung and Hyunseung)

Kikwang: Among our Beast members, JunHyung and Hyunseung pay the most attention towards fashion styles, so their fashion senses are amazing too. There are times where I'd be jealous, but through this program, I want to be the 'fashionista' representative of BEAST. Who knows, fans might be surprised like, 'Lee Kikwang has this look too?".

Gayoon: Being an MC on 'Style Log', people from around me are happy about it and supported me passionately, especially 4minute members and our fans. I'm not active on SNS. Through this program, I see this as an opportunity for me to show my usual self rather than just the person on stage.

Why Cube does not do double track title sometimes most of their non title track are better than the title track.

I think part of it is music shows only let really popular senior artists promote more than one song fully. The only time I remember that happening was with Rain.

Noel comes back with a brand new sound for 'The Day'

Noel has put aside their usual style for a retro-style standard pop for their newest release!

"The Day" is a soft song with a patterned melody and a stable harmony. It starts off quietly, but continues onward to reach highly toward the climax. This is Noel's first comeback song since their joining their new label YNB Entertainment
Check out the MV and song above!
Cr. Allkpop
But why in Cube if his label is YNB?

^ I heard other entertainment companies borrow studios of other ent companies? I'm not sure or maybe they are working with a producer from Cube?

I remembered coming across a post that Secret in the past had used Cube's studio to record songs. idk

Yeah Secret used to record at Cube because TS was too broke to afford one. People forget one of Cube's subsidiaries is Music Cube which deals with the publishing and producing aspects of thing. Noel was under JYPE when Hong Seung Sung was there so I'm sure there's a relationship there somewhere. I've seen video of Kim Tae Woo of g.o.d. in Cube's practice room too and now they're signed under iHQ. Shame though, I've been saying for years A Cube needs to sign some more artists. Noel would have fit well.
