Thought this was relevant: "In a strategic alliance, each company maintains its autonomy"

http://www.investopedia.com/terms/s/strategicalliance.asp

That was a good explanation...

Well, from the comments that I've read from anywhere... people are just worried that IHQ now has the controlling interest in Cube... I guess.

I don't think we have anything to worry about. Both parties formed a partnership so they can use each other's resources. It's like you're opening your house door to guest but you still have your keys.

With a merger, you're basically agreeing to sell your house and buy a new one with your partner. Starting over!!

I was thinking about this, do you think that when realising a pre-release (lol), if you do it with an MV, it will boost their digitals?

Yes but you have to factor in how much money it takes to make a music video even if its a cheap backdrop. Digital sales don't bring enough money in to make it worth the investment in my opinion.

oh I see

but how did Apink have  two videos for this comeback?

three if you count the one with the same background as the No No No one

I think companies do it knowing they'll lose money but hoping to gain more fans? Because it obviously wasn't to help digital sales considering both were released after A Pink was already promoting. A video like "U You" wouldn't cost that much more considering it was just basically a behind the scenes video while they were on set.

might be able to give us more information about this but apparently this guy is coming to Cube in October for two months of training. His name is James Jirayu Tangsrisuk and he's a 93 liner.

I don't think its to debut as an artist under them though since he's already an actor in Thailand. I've been doing some digging around and Cube's actually had a few foreign trainees in the past who went back to their homeland to pursue careers there. I thought perhaps they got tired of trainee life and left but its looking more and more like companies pay Cube to train singers/actors for them because they don't have the resources to do so. This is picture of a Thai soloist named Waii with G.NA. There's no confirmation that she was a Cube trainee but the background looks pretty familiar.

Well, James Ji. is really popular in Thailand right now. He made his first acting debut earlier this year and shot to superstardom. He is coming to train to be an all-rounded performer with Cube. Check out his IG jirayu_jj I think he had around 800k followers

Waii was never with Cube since she debut in 2007

Cube (2012)

Revenue: 22.9 billion Won

Net Profit: 600 million Won

(2013)

Est Operating Income: 2.5 billion Won.

If the shareholders only get $500k profit last year, thats pretty low tbh

Don't take all the numbers for face value. Jolene is still translating and she's been mixing some up. It would make sense though because Cube spends a lot of their money I feel like. 30% just on trainees. Their staff is bigger than JYP's.

whoa whoa whoa?

Does this mean company size wise Cube is officially bigger than JYP?

JYP had 44 in 2012. Cube as of right now has like 50 or so. Not a big difference and who knows who qualifies as an official employee. To compare though, Woollim has 19. YG has 254. SM has 1,065. I'm quoting Wikipedia though so who knows how accurate any of these are.

i'm not surprised at Woolim

but for a company with 19 employees their management is better than YG which has 15 times their company size

You would think Woollim would invest in some trainers... That number was from an official report and it said they had one. No wonder all the girls left

So they're not debuting that girl group anymore?

Its been delayed forever and some of the girls left last I heard including Yoo Jia. I read she's even married now. One's now a member of The Seeya and F-ve Dolls. There was a former Cube trainee that was part of the group. I don't know where she is now.

Oh I see... I heard some people anticipating it but guess it would be hard now... but they have sm now so it might still be possible.

I don't think they could if they only have 1 trainer Infinite used Sweetune's help for Vocal Trainers which was Spica's Kim Boa in exchange that Infinite will work with Sweetune for their musical releases for several years

So it seems that BEAST is coming back in November

G.na's comeback was postponed but she will still comback this year (?), I don't know what will happen to Jihoon tbh, normally rookies (not from the Big3) debut with just a single, he actually debuted with an mini, and without souding rude, it was a flop.

I am still hoping that 4minute will comeback again, I am not counting IIP as a "real" comeback, so please cube T.T
