It's nowhere near done (I think it'll take at least another 3 months), but I finally have something worth looking at. Behold! When I'm done, it'll be a fully animated music video for f(x)'s Goodbye Summer (from the epic Pink Tape album) featuring f(Amber + Luna + Krystal) and EXO-K's D.O. If you can't tell from the above, the characters from left to right are Luna, D.O., Krystal, and Amber. Their only distinguishing features are their hair, lol. And the modelling and animation is being done using an awesome free animation tool called Blender. I modeled everything you see in the image above with the exception of the following: the character bodies (credit: poll and poll) the theater chairs (credit: alepx) the guitar (credit: jeffie) Amber's cap (credit: JonFreer) Everything else in this image (the theater, the stage, the clothes and the lighting and stuff) was done by me. But since I still suck at Blender, I'm sure I'll be using more pre-modeled stuff to make my life easier down the road. If you're interested in the final product, check back in a while. I promised to share pictures of the second set that I would use for this music video, but it's taking me much longer than I thought it would to finish modelling and lighting it, so here's a behind the scenes look at the music video timeline instead. Redstal, it's your turn to sing. Where are you looking? So you see the blue bar going across the length of the timeline? That's the length of Goodbye Summer. See the veeeeeery few blocks of purple scattered over the left side? That's the rough animation I've done to set up some of the camera shots. As you can see, not much has been completed yet. You see all the options in the panels on the right side? Those are all the features that I still don't know how to properly use yet, lol. Once the entire length of the song is covered by purple blocks, it'll mean that I've animated the music video with the animation fluidity of a stop-motion movie. Honestly, I'm a little worried at how smooth the animation's going to look once this project is done. Some of the character movements I have so far are passable, but other movements are... questionable at best. Hopefully I get better at this! I'll try to share another update in a few days! I'll be using it for a daytime scene and a nighttime scene, so I lit it both ways for you guys to see. School interior in the day. It almost like a teaser for the MV! Courtyard in the day. Slapping pink leaves on a tree =/= making a cherry blossom tree. Courtyard at night. If the animation goes like I plan, my favorite scene will play out here. School interior at night. Spooooooky, lol. Animation's going... slowly. It took me forever to just light the scenes you see above, but hopefully now I can focus on animating. Maybe I'll try to post an animated gif next time. Edit: Whoops, forgot to post credits! I didn't make everything here myself. School exterior: I modified cumialaska's work to fit my school around the school interior. School interior: The aesthetics of my interior were heavily influenced by croasan's work, and I directly took the lockers, the bulletin board, and the inner double-doors from this blend.
