Article: [Exclusive] SM Rookiez Yuta joins as a new member of 'Abnormal Summit'

Source: X Sports News via Naver

1. [+8,904, -271] SM never fails to deliver with their package deals

2. [+7,975, -415] I bet SM put in a word to kick Takuya out too. Honestly, there's not one show on TV where an SM star isn't on it lately.

3. [+6,682, -280] So sick of this SM everyhwere

4. [+5,253, -157] SM totally has control over jTBC variety now... they've been sticking in an SM star in every one of their shows and testing the waters.

5. [+1,256, -35] As a fan of this show, I seriously don't understand why the original cast was even swapped out and why the new cast has overlapping nationalities. On top of that, a trainee? This doesn't fit the concept of the show at all. How can a trainee debate issues about Japan? And they should be introducing countries we haven't had before but Japan again? Why kick Takuya out to begin with? This show won't last for long anymore

6. [+1,175, -34] If they were going to keep Japan on the show, bring back Takuya!!!!!!!

7. [+1,093, -40] Shows are going to close doors with SM sticking their noises everywhere

8. [+1,040, -44] Look at them sticking in an SM star because Jun Hyun Moo is under their label. I'd rather Takuya back.

Article: 'Abnormal Summit' New member G6 officially revealed

Source: OSEN via Naver

1. [+17,529, -667] They said they wouldn't repeat the same countries. I don't get why the original cast was removed in the first place and why Takuya was replaced by some Japanese SM trainee who hasn't even debuted yet. This show is going to be a riot when the G11 members are a fully SM cast. Please change the show to 'SM Summit'

2. [+13,637, -670] Why kick Takuya if they're going to add another Japanese member? Please add more Asian members too ã… ã… ã… ã…

3. [+11,107, -232] What is this with Japan? What does this make Takuya then? This is going too far

4. [+9,904, -991] The show needed a change of pace but not this way ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ I don't get why Sam wasn't kicked. He's been nothing but a wallflower the entire time.

5. [+2,453, -29] I understand them taking Takuya out because he was never open to discussing sensitive issues about Japan and always held back but then they should pick another Japanese who isn't afraid to speak his mind... instead they throw in an idol trainee? ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ What do they expect some 20 year old kid to know to participate in debates?

He might not be well-known but his already got a small fandom and can bring in a younger audience/ fresher prospective to the show.

EDIT: #mess at the downvotes.

lol I'm dead at people hating on Yuta for doing exactly what Takuya did. Yuta's too young? His only 3 years younger. His an idol so he can't speak freely? Same applied to Takuya. His unknown? His actually more popular than Takuya was when he started the show.

People should just admit that the only reason they're mad is because his from SM. Because if you take that out Yuta is pretty much in the same position Takuya was when he started the show.

To be honest...

Ohhhhhh ou're one of those "you're too young to know anything just because of your age" stereotype supporters! Oohhh okay. Give the guy a chance lol ya'll don't know him so don't look down on him lol

Well, sure, what a 20 year old kid who basically spends his day on practice room knows about society issues in Japan or Korea? He doesnt attend higher education and barely interacting with various people except other SM trainees (Takuya spends most of his time in Japan, since Cross Gene more active here). He doesnt read news or participating in anything except learning singing/dancing in SM dungeon. Is he going to be an eye-candy on the show?

However, dont judge a book by it's cover. Who knows if he's actually capable of presenting world issues? Who knows if he's smart? Who knows if he's knowledgeable?

Let's just watch him first then rant.

Abnormal Summit doesnt care if you are trainee, idols, celebs, professor, student, employee, etc. What matters is your opinion, knowledge and debating skill. Yuta seems like a timid kid who doesnt know outside world and afraid of talking sensitive issue, but come on~ let's watch first. You can criticize if he's basically did a poor job.

People are all "this is a good way of promotions" but I don't agree. This is a good way to get hate... It looks like forcing more than promotions. Teasers are nice. And once you debuted, TV shows are important. But TV shows as pre debuts ? Bad idea.

I don't see how a 20 year old would not be able to keep up when half the screentime gets wasted on useless gags and over played punchlines of each member's variety persona.

How long did he even live in Japan to have debates about it, He spent most of his time as a trainee so what can he really talk about when it come to japan. Yeah he could know some stuff but I think what really get me is why was he really put in the show before he even debut because otherwise if the wanted younger views they have a chinese member in EXO, I guess maybe becuase I am tired of seeing SM artist on almost everything even though i'm a SM Stan.

Are you serious? First a 20 years old is not a kid anymore and anyone with that age should be able to participate in debates. And If you can't (or couldn't) with that age, i feel sorry for you.

~

That aside, I hope Yuta can show why they chose him to the show and that way change people minds. As for Takuya, I kind of feel sorry if he wanted to stay, but I don't really know if, even if they did not include Yuta, Takuya would stay or not...

As I've already notice with SM including Jaehyun and Doyoung as MC predebut, and now this one, i can see that they are really trying to promote them.

And honestly, they really need it (and i hope they give the boys more teasers ~the one from today was a good start), because they will go against some strong rookies groups this year.

Plus, i've always seen does kind of response when is anything about SM rookies... I did not remember people complaining about ikon members been in tv shows and doing CFs....

I actually feel sorry for Takuya.

The kid himself said he wouldn't want to leave abnormal summit even if he is having a hard time.

i was annoyed the second i read the title because SM has to fucking stick their nose everywhere but this just made me so pissed. Poor Takuya...

People only complains when is SM doing this promotions for their pre-debut trainees, if this were another company there wouldn't be complains, but if they have this kind of resources, why not use it to make their trainees popular?

Anyways, good luck Yuta :)

I think adding a range of people that differ in age will actually make it more interesting. Different generations have different experiences and opinions. Although I'm worried if he's willing to stand by his opinion or just let everything pass by to avoid controversy.

It's not even his age that's the problem, he might be an intelligent kid who knows a lot but the fact that he's a trainee idol from SM is what's gonna get him... Imagine him slipping up on the show, imagine the backlash to this kid. They'll have all the reason to hate on him; he's Japanese and he's in an idol group. tsk... smh... good luck, kid.
