BiS ‘Are you ready?’ Complete Interview - March 20, 2019

The true feelings of BiS that continues running, nonstop for 336 hours straight

As homage to Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, BiS has released their 11 minute and 24 second single ‘Are you ready?’, and held an unprecedented 69 hour long event ‘BiS’s 69 Fes. ~Are you ready to 69H?~’. From here, they will continue on until the end of the WACK training camp audition. We are sure to see the true feelings of BiS that continues running nonstop for 336 hours straight. Kika / Aya / Peri / Goji / Pan / Muro / Hana / Mew / YUiNA are BiS (each has their respective photos). They all talked so passionately, to the point of tears.

- Although this year has started with all 9 of you working together, Aya, Muro, Hana, and YUiNA, you’ve all been designated for assignment. The future will be determined after the release of the new single ‘Are you ready?’...which is aptly fitting for this crisis situation. But how are you currently feeling now in your daily activities?

Peri Ubu: I really can’t find a way out of this crisis situation that we’re in, I know that up until this point things “haven’t been goodâ€...

Kika Front Frontale: It’d be awful if we can’t continue on as a 9 membered BiS, I wanna do something about it.

Toriaez Hana: Once again, I have to properly analyse myself and the 9 membered BiS.

Muropanako: Because I’ve been designated for assignment, I don’t know if I’ll even be able to carry on in BiS. The new single ‘Are you ready?’ is being released during the week of the 69 hour event ‘BiS’s 69 Fes. ~Are you ready to 69H?~’ and then the week after is the training camp (WACK training camp audition 2019) so I wonder how far I can keep going, working at my 100% best. I think I’ll be able to hang on in there.

Aya Eightprince: In the current situation we’re in, it’s inevitable that we can’t stay as a 9 member BiS. Despite this, I still don’t want to give up, not until the very end.

Pan Luna Leafy: We can’t give up until the very end, we have no choice but to approach it as if we’d die otherwise. Just like Saki (※Kamiya Saki / GANG PARADE / ex.BiS), there have been cases of those being suspended coming back to work. To be able to work as a part of this 9 member BiS in the future, we have to work our best everyday to try and overturn this crisis situation.

Mewclub: I think that I still have a chance here, but not everyone thinks “BiS can’t be without the 9 of usâ€. We haven't been able to convey those feelings to Watanabe (※WACK CEO / BiS Producer), so I want us to unite even more, not giving up until the very end, so Watanabe can see.

Go Zeela: Even though BiS’s songs are good, if a group doesn’t function well together, what they sing won’t be spread across the world. After BiS first disbanded, there was an audition, and the new BiS started. Puu (※ Pour Lui / ex.BiS leader) was what connected the reformed BiS to the original BiS. But after Puu left, we had no choice but to take on the role of singing and spreading the group as far as we can. The fact that we weren’t able to do that is the most frustrating thing right now. If you can’t fulfil that role, I think it’s difficult to continue on. That’s why we have to do all we can until the very end. We will struggle and struggle until the end, and if that’s still deemed as “impossible†then there’s nothing else we can do.

YUiNA EMPiRE: I transferred from EMPiRE to BiS, and even though the group’s changed, I still want to continue on from here, even though I can’t do it in BiS. I’ve been given a chance now, and I don’t want to waste it. There’s the 69 hour event and the training camp. The 9 of us, as BiS, need to think about things seriously.

- After hearing all that you’ve just said, the 69 hour event is likely to be a huge turning point. How you’re able to perform there may determine the future of BiS. There’s no doubt that this is a “critical momentâ€, but when the event itself was first decided, how did you feel?

Toriaez Hana: I just thought “that’s long†(Laughs). EMPiRE’s event was 24 hours long, so this is like 3 times that? Then, when I first heard that it would be spread out over 5 days, I was like, “What does that even mean?â€

- Looking at the timetable, I don’t get the impression that it’s for 5 continuous days, in fact, aren’t those blank periods were you get breaks from it? If you think of it that way, it’s not really 69 hours….

Toriaez Hana: Well, there may be days when I can’t sleep, or days when I can’t take a bath, and then thinking about all the other events, I probably won’t get a break for like 120 hours. Actually no, because right after that we’re performing at ‘SANUKI ROCK COLOSSEUM 2019’ and then to Fukuoka for ‘Zepp Fukuoka×BEA Presents F-X 2019’, and then the training camp starts the very next day….

- Well that’s not 120 hours. If it’s 5 days straight, then that’s calculated at 120 hours. Then the events the 2 days after, so that’s +48 hours. The training camp is 7 days long, so that’s +168 hours…. So that’s about 336 hours. If you have all that time, then anything can be done (Laughs)

Peri Ubu: Exactly! We can do anything! This seriously is a chance!

- First of all is the 69 hour event.

Kika Front Frontale: I’m worried about my skin (Laughs)

- You’re going to be sleeping on the stage, right? So does that mean you can’t remove your makeup during that time?

Kika Front Frontale: I can’t go without, you know. There’s no way I can be barefaced on stage. It’s tough for my 18 year old skin. I’m not worried about my physical or emotional strength, I just have the feeling of “Let’s do this!†I’m purely worried about my skin (Laughs)

Aya Eightprince: But it’s gonna be fun! It’s like all my senses are numb, I’m “completely chill†(Laughs) Also, I don’t wanna give up being in BiS with these 9 members until the very end, so I “want to make it a festival!†rather than showing a painful form. While we to as well, I want to show the customers a good time. We’re doing it at night too, so all sorts of people can come to the event.

Peri Ubu: We’re doing it for long time, so people who missed the last train can come see us.

Toriaez Hana: Instead of sleeping in a cafe.

Kika Front Frontale: A chance to sleep with the members.

Aya Eightprince: Let’s live in the live house together.

Go Zeela: Yeah, we should live there.

Muropanako: It’s better to live normally.

Go Zeela: The customers are free to live however they want.

Aya Eightprince: So when you come home, the members are there?

YUiNA EMPiRE: Amazing!

Toriaez Hana: You can sleep with idols!

Kika Front Frontale: This is a god tier event!

I want to be someone’s support. But, to me, BiS is my support.

- Pan, what do you want for this event?

Pan Luna Leafy: I’ll bring my dog.

All: (Laughs)

Pan Luna Leafy: I don’t know when I’ll die, so we can go together.

- “Patrasche, I’m kinda feeling super sleepy†It’s not that kind of situation though, right.

Pan Luna Leafy: It’s ‘A Dog of Flanders’ situation. (Laughs)

- What about you, Mew?

Mewclub: I’m looking forward to it. I heard we’ll be fed well.

- A “Free meal on the job, lucky!†sort of feeling.

All: (Laughs)

Mewclub: If I have food, then I can live. This is the first time I’ve ever done something like this, so I’m looking forward to it.

Go Zeela: For me, personally, I’ve been thinking that “I wanna try and see how long I can go without sleepâ€. Working from morning to night, and playing from night to morning. If I was continuing on like that, I’d definitely pass out by the fourth day. So for this 69 event, we will wholeheartedly hang on, so no one will fall. But all of those things are what makes it fun, I wanna get right to the point of falling down. If you hit your limit, then you’ll fall down, but I wanna raise that limit higher.

YUiNA EMPiRE: I want to it start fun and end fun. I’m sure along the way everyone will get tired and things will accumulate, but I want us all to support each other and have fun with it. I made a guest appearance during the EMPiRE 24 hour event, and at that point everyone was like “We’re just getting started!†There were times when I was out of sight that I’d fall down, but I enjoyed being on stage the entire time. I would like the same thing for BiS.

Aya Eightprince: I can feel that we’ll do something fun!

Toriaez Hana: If we put our minds to it, we can do anything.

Kika Front Frontale: I wonder how involved we can get the customers.

- The event will be legendary to all those who attend, something they will never forget.

Peri Ubu: Yeah!

- In the previous interview (https://bit.ly/2O9BbQM) Goji said “This is a crisis situation. If things continue on like this, we’ll probably disbandâ€. As a result of this, BiS1st and BiS2nd merged together and started to work as a singular unit of 9 members. How have things been from then to now for you, Goji?

Go Zeela: For me, I was in a constant state of unknowing. Watching the members who I hadn’t worked with for half a year, and the members I hadn’t even worked with at all yet, I just kept thinking “I wonder how it is for them?†For the members I was able to work with, there was a sense of many different work ethics and then there’s also members with artistic temperament, so there’s a huge variation there and that’s where difficulties arose.

- I’d like to hear from you, one by one. What does BiS mean to you? What image do you want BiS to convey? Starting with you Goji, can you tell me what you think?

Go Zeela: The BiS I want to make is something that can move people’s hearts and minds. Making music, making a way of life for that person, I want BiS to move their hearts and minds and make that person’s life brighter. Then I want to expand more and more. So I’m like a circle, I don’t mean that I just want to do BiS with friends, I want to properly take responsibility of BiS. I want to be successful at my job, I want to feel like I’ve worked really hard to accomplish a mission.

- Next, Kika.

 

Kika Front Frontale: I want to help people, I want to be someone’s support. In life there are many things that people struggle with and things that are tough to deal with. In those times, I want to be that reliable place in their hearts. Whether it’s at our live performances, or through our music, I want for people to be touched by BiS in a way that makes them forget about all the bad, so the next day they can think “I can do this againâ€. That’s my ideal. I want to keep saying that. But then I hear, “So, how do you realistically do that?†and now I’m guessing this isn’t enough. But I want to be able to do something about it.

- Next, Mew.

Mewclub: I want to be someone’s support too. But to me, BiS is my support. If there was no BiS, I myself couldn’t grow….(tears begin forming) That’s why I want to be a support for all the fans as well. But, I want to… what’s it called? It’s not endless, it’s not cycle.. For the fans.. I want to… some English word. What I’m trying to say is that it won’t end.

Aya Eightprince: Don’t you mean ending?

- That means it’ll end.

All: (Laughs)

- Spiral?

Mewclub: That’s it, a spiral! A spiral of happiness. As I continue to grow for BiS’s sake, and I want to make sure the customers are happy too.

- Next, Peri.

Peri Ubu: I don’t know whether this is the correct use of the phrasing, but I think BiS is a “living fossilâ€. BiS has always been here, and I want BiS to continue on forever. Out of all the groups in WACK, I want BiS to last longer than any other group, I really want BiS to be eternal. So, I think we want this newest BiS to be the greatest BiS of any era. I want to continuing on, innovating to become the best, I want us to be the best we can be right now. Someday we’ll all be gone, even if a new BiS is created, I hope that this current BiS remains the best ever BiS in its history.

- Next, YUiNA.

YUiNA EMPiRE: I think BiS is a group that leaves behind a legacy. When I first saw BiS, I liked Rinahamu (※ BiS founding member), so I knew about them from that time. So when I first joined, I thought, “What’s the goodness of BiS?†and I think it’s “Don’t hide yourself, show yourself as you truly areâ€. It’s the same during the live shows. By facing the ordeals, the shape of BiS appears so cool, I think everyone is always struck by that. Maybe it isn’t like this right now, but I want the customers who are watching us, the current BiS, are able to think that BiS looks really cool. Until now, BiS has left such a legacy, so I want this current 9 member BiS to also go down as legends.

- Next, Hana.

Toriaez Hana: BiS live shows are so cool. When I joined BiS, I liked performing in live houses. I was the type that couldn’t even raise a hand during live shows. I would just cling to the lightstick the entire time, I was so embarrassed and couldn’t tak. But with BiS, there’s one person who does the speaking, and the audience comes together as one too. When I first met the customers, they were standing together shoulder to shoulder of their own accord. Things like that can’t be done in normal life, so I like those little, simple things when performing in live houses. I’d like BiS to do more lives like that, were we can all become one. The original BiS united as one when performing at Yokohama Arena. So, I have to move my heart and mind… (tears begin forming) That’s what makes BiS so cool.

- You can be the diva of BiS’s world, right?

Toriaez Hana: Yeah, that’s right. I want to be the world’s diva, in BiS. I want to do a world tour. I want to change the world. I remembered that just now.

- Next, Pan.

Pan Luna Leafy: In my life, there’s only BiS. While it feels like a place of work, originally, I liked idols and I always wanted to give out the courage that I have. Originally, I was ugly, but by being in BiS I’ve been able to change a little. There were many ugly parts of my personality too, but I didn’t run away from them. So I want to tell you personally, from my experience, “you can changeâ€. And so, I want to change the world, as BiS, and sing songs like “Let it be†or “CHANGE the WORLDâ€. That’s something I think BiS can do. Right now, I want to break down the common sense in the world. Things like BiS.LEAGUE, the 100km marathons, and I guess the same can be said about this upcoming 69 hour event, these are only things that BiS can do. I want BiS to be = “There’s this group that really shocks meâ€. So I want to cheer everyone up. If we can become someone’s support, then we can change the world.

- That sounds like the concept of the original BiS.

Pan Luna Leafy: Our latest single, “Are you ready?†received so many comments from people overseas, it made me happy. So I think we can really go out into the world from here. I think it’ll be like the movie “Bohemian Rhapsodyâ€. Like Queen, we want to perform overseas and have foreign fans shouting out our songs. That’s why I won’t give up!

Peri Ubu: We wanna “become Queenâ€.

Toriaez Hana: That means there’s a Freddie Mercury here among us.

Aya Eightprince: Recently, I’ve been working on my Freddie impression (Laughs)

Toriaez Hana: During practice, when you’re wearing no makeup, he breaks free (Laughs)

- So, then, Aya is BiS’s envision of Freddie Mercury?

Aya Eightprince: BiS is a group doing different things that other idols won’t do. I think that if it’s not interesting, then it’s no good. So I’m glad that we have an 69 hour event. If we did the same 24 hour event like EMPiRE, wouldn’t that be considered a bit “naive� (Laughs). I’m glad that this time we got to do something as epic as “Are you ready?†As Freddie, that makes me very happy…..

Peri Ubu: “As Freddie†(Laughs)

Aya Eightprince: When I sing, he descends down to me! So BiS can’t be the worst in WACK. It’s true that BiS looks cool, and it’s true that we hit the heart, but all WACK groups are built on the foundations of BiS, so I want BiS to be the best in every way.

- Finally, Muro.

Muropanako: For me, I just hate doing normal things. I don’t want to do the same as people. Long before I joined BiS and long before I saw about the WACK audition on LINE, I was writing to Ayuni D (※ BiSH member / an old friend of Muro’s) things like, “I don’t want to go on living like this, following the rails laid by my parentsâ€. That’s why I’ve gone down this path. So BiS is good. Isn’t BiS different from normal idols? Doing things like the 69 hour event. I hate being bored, and I hate being normal. I’m here now because of hate. I hate it if things aren’t interesting. I want to do interesting things. So it’s great to do such interesting things. I hope that all customers enjoy BiS, even if I’m not in BiS, I still want everyone to enjoy BiS.

- At that time, what did you want to do, Muro?

Muropanako: I want to be in the entertainment industry for the rest of my life…. Of course, I mean, I want to be in BiS (Laughs) BiS, of course BiS. Watanabe has said “You can go to another idol groupâ€, but I don’t want to go to any other groups. But even if I’m asked, “What do you want in BiS?†I just don’t know!

- Isn’t it what you just said, that you “want to do interesting things� (Laughs)

Muropanako: Exactly! I want to do interesting things. I want to be different from other people. And that itself is BiS. Normal idols won’t do things like a 69 hour event. So I want to do interesting things in BiS. Instead of the 69 hour event or the training camp, I’d rather do something more interesting than “emotionalâ€!

- OK, so finally, what do you want to convey with this 9 membered BiS? Go Zeela, as representative, can you please tell us.

Go Zeela: BiS started originally with 4 people, and then went on to disband at Yokohama Arena. Then, in 2016, BiS reformed and started up once more until today. “BiS is continuing on†and I want to prove that. Once it reached the end and was over, “it starts again†and the story continues on. It may be heavy burden for us to carry, but it’s the same for the 69 hour event, I want to stand firmly on stage as BiS.

so it seems there was a huge shitstorm in twitter because of some art works,

those a few post above but is not the one that says "thank you" but the ones above it

wack hired some artist to do the art for some new products but the artist sneaked some things that are controversial

it seems some of the group members are pissed because of this

the only members who's future were uncertain were aya and hana

but they say they are disbanding and that wack is going to hold an audition for a new bis

i been reading from some fans about a possible new group to put bis in there but sounds life wishful thinking

- Ayuni D is holding a note saying "Fuck your sister".

 

I love the artist's style, but I can understand why the members would be upset.

kika and gozeela quitting was surprising since they were never at danger or being kick out or anything

they didn't reveal their future plans so is a big question the why and also what is next for them

 

 

pan luna, muropanako and yuina are going to remain in wack, this is what i was expecting

muropana likes to be a part of wack, she is also one of watanabe favorites

yuina was part of other groups before joining wack, she wouldn't put with all this just for nothing

pan luna actually she and bully idol where to hold a live in a few weeks, this was a red herring about she remaining

i think at least one of them is going to end in the new BiS

this is what makes it confusing, did they chose to leave or is wack the one telling them to go?

since they are looking for new agencies at least we can expect to see more of them in the future

i hope they get to remain in wack, no reason to waste their talent, but at this point is this is likely? unlikely?

is very confusing i give you that, i also not very sure either

 

so from what i remember it goes like this

 

after the bis league in december it was announced that muropana, aya, yuina and hana (also nel nehru but she quit)

were in probation and were to participate in the next wack audition camp

if they were kick out of the camp they would also be kick from bis but if they survived until the end they could stay

aya (day 4) and hana (day 5) were kick before the end of the week yuina and muropana make it to the end so they got to remain

later it was announced that bis was disbanding so the results didn't really ended mattering in the end

 

i would be up to a new group if it includes the current bis members

the art is nice but it not at the level of previous wack collaborations, i still like the style

 

dunno if this was on purpose, but the artist really ended pissing almost everyone

 

some of the stuff is not that bad, like watanabe being crucified or the minnie mickey shirt

we know that wack is edgy so that is expected with them

 

 

he made bish fans angry because of the ayuni fuck your sister since she plays the "little sister" character in the group

 

 

the part that bothered bis fans was that he sneaked a swastika

 

 

empire fans were angry because they look nothing like the members

 

gang parade fans were mad because of coco art work that was like from a hentai manga

i don't mind wack trying to be edgy i don't think this is worthy of a witch hunt

is shitty that they did it without asking the members if they were ok with being portrayed like this

some of them are not even bothering promoting this, they should hear fans next time

 

they should have hired sushio he is the art director of kill la kill and he is a huge fan of wack

he already worked with them before and he also post fan art of wack and their groups

I was reading through AyaPri's twitter, and she retweeted an announcement from Watanabe. He cleared things up regarding certain members status. Aya, Hana, Mewclub, and Peri have cancelled their contracts. However, he's considering them free agents. It's a little confusing though. It sounds either like he wants them to come back, or that their new office contact him about transferring the contract. He says he needs to know by the end of the month. Considering that he didn't do this when other members left, like Momoland last year and Nel Nehru this year, it makes me wonder what he's playing at.

Aya pinned this. Basically says she wants to sing for a long time and is currently looking for an office. She must still be evaluating what she wants to do. Aya does thank Watanabe for the Free Agent declaration, so I don't know if she can still go back to WACK if she decides to.

Edit: I think I get it now. Looks like all 4 members that Watanabe listed are looking for affiliated offices, and have until the end of May to find one. Peri said she's looking for one, and so did Aya. Sounds like yet another Watanabe promotional tactic.
