Oricon officially no longer counts cds bundled with concert tickets

Yesterday was the last day they counted them. The last day was originally supposed to be 6/1. This comes after they decided to no longer count music cards earlier this year. How do you think this will affect sales? What will be next? The much talked about handshake tickets?

JSB got those Starting Over sales in while they could

Basically. There's been speculation that the elimination of music cards and concert ticket bundling is a plot against LDH.

I wonder if it will affect Japan's ranking as the 2th largest.

No chance. They're twice as big as their nearest competitor.

Doubt it, hardly anyone did this type of bundling.

CDs sold at events are already only partially counted. I doubt there will be bans on handshake events. That practice is already old as fuck, I don't see it going anywhere.

Doubtful. They were 2nd before this started, they'll be 2nd after it's over.

Hmm, as far as I'm concerned, they actually did the ticket bundle only with a single in 2013. Their best selling single without gimmicks was a collaboration with GLAY in 2005 and had half the sales of the gimmicky single from 2013 (500k against 1 million records sold). I don't include EXILE TRIBE and Sandaime, with one ticket bundle each in 2014 and 2015. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Those are few gimmicks compared to other acts, but still I think they shouldn't have lowered themselves like that. They are still ruling concert tickets' sales.....

Dunno very much about the music cards, one coins (?) tho, but I think ticket bundles are the problem as they unfairly inflate the sales being counted, the music cards and cover variants are for me like those variant retail covers from American comic books....... If you wanna get the San Diego Comic Con cover, go for it, even if the issue is like 30$ instead of the regular 2,99$....

I'm not aware of any.

I think there was the case of handshake tickets with BTOB I think, which Myth criticised back in the day.

Handshake tickets and concert tickets are seen as different though.

And you can't compare 2005 numbers to 2013 numbers. An EXILE single does like 100k - 200k for the past few years.

And why wouldn't you include the other LDH acts?

Thanks for the tip!

Because I don't know about the others in that sense. Hence me using "as far as I'm concerned", "please correct me if I'm wrong"...

Have EXILE and JSB been the most notorious in that regard, no?
