I'm trying to contain my joy since it could be a prank and we're just assuming things, in fact we could be totally wrong... 

But it's so hard

The perspective of Yesung solo

same for me..ELF often thought its about solo, but it never was.. so i am usually calm.. but here he openly mention a whole month...and tag ELF.. so i got way to exited.. 

 

while i made i mistake.. i though at the 4.4 but its only the 4th as month April.. yikes.. :(

 

 

I saw this too a while back when he posted in IG and I freaked out!!!!!!

But I don't think it is for solo. Because if it is, SM/Label SJ is awfully quiet about it then!

 

It must be promoted wisely or else people (and I mean Korea, where charts are important) will not check it and easily dismiss it because it is from suju :soul:  (international fans will love it of course, no question)

 

I just... well.. I want it to be a really really successful solo. Because I think Yesung doubts himself now. And by successful I mean for it to chart well and win music shows. :smile: :smile: :smile:  Hopefully

 

 

 

I think just March alone he had 2 posts in IG captioned as "recording". He is such a tease :ahmagah:  He also mentioned in magazine interviews (and Super Camp I think) that this is 3 years in the making because he has been writing songs for it while he was in public service. Then it was to come out 2015, but pushed back due to AWL and that Japanese film he shot.

Yesung is ballad, and ballad is yesung.. exuse u..  :unimpressed:

 

Ballads chart higher than R&B or what ever.. again.. Kyu as example.. I deff think it should be an Ballad album with a few other genre songs.. and an Ballad would be fine as title track. Yesung is known for ballads.. to sing him something other is not beliveable and can be risky.. From one side it can be too expected o/c, from other site too risky if ppl dont like it.. 

I can remember i watched an reaction video for Wookie, and the one sayed he is disappointed coz we got what we expect.. but honestly, i wasnt disapponted.. i liked it and safe thing is good. He can make experiment with B tracks, but title track i want to chart high.. Ballads are good to chart .. so whats wrong with it? Better its authentic as not..

Realllyyyy? You want safe for his first single? I don't know. It's just that he has been doing ballads in his OST stints for like years already. But when he did a power-ballad/rock song in Immortal Song, EVERYONE'S MIND BLEW AWAY. Then there's those b sides in SuJu albums which are truuuullllllyyyyy trulllyyyy GOLD like Simply Beautiful. And also his singing in Sorry Sorry Answer.. those 2 songs are examples of how his voice can really shine in an R&B/soul track.

 

As a fan, I want the best for him, and I just think that at this point in his career, he must take risks so that he can really broaden his horizon. And be different from what he comfortably does.

 

Kyu was super successful with his first solo ballad. Good for him!

 

Ryeo on the other hand, successful yes, but not at least 3/4 with what Kyu was able to achieve I guess.

 

Now, with Yesung, I hope he deviates from K, R and KRY. His voice is special. He can do more.

 

Well. Have you heard that song he composed and performed in Phonograph? Not really ballad-y, it's very chill. But super catchy. These type can be his b-side tracks.

Anyway, these are just MY OWN opinion. It's not like I can go to Label SJ and suggest these to them hahahahahahahahahaha! But this is what I hope. And more importantly, I pray that his solo will SLAAAAAY! Slay charts, slay digital downloads, slay physical sales! SLAY SLAY SLAY! LOL

 

If he goes through the safe route, then ok. It's not like I won't like it. Because I'm a Cloud, I'll be lovin' anything he'll release, THAT'S FOR SURE :hurr:

 

 

A lot of us are pretty much confident with what he can do vocally maybe that is why we want him to try other genres. Yep he must work hard but at the same time not really put too much pressure in himself. He already has a strong fanbase, plus his voice is really brilliant. He shouldn't worry :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

 

yes, its even because i am confident in him and his voice, and know what else he can sing, i dont wanna force on him to take smg other as safe ballade as title track.. Its not that he have to demonstrate or prove smg. He should take smg what he is confident and confortable with standing on stage and perform. He should not worry to much.. will ppl like it or not. i want him be sure, ppl will.. and its smg what everyone is used to.. ballads.. i dont ask him sing slow ballads. fast is well enough.. but r&b or soul?? idk.. rlly not..

YS' voice is unlike any other. I could care less about ahmin's vocal analysis downgrading him to 'above average'. Music is about more than just technique. This song that remembers a past love during spring-- how many times have I felt that melancholy in April. He didn't go for the obvious 'lets be in love' bouncy spring theme and went for something deeper.  Not everyone can appreciate his sensibility and it's their loss.

Can't agree more with u. I keep telling same things since 4 years now.

I can care less abt ALL analysis. I never read them and them mostly are biased anyway. 

 

I don't like "perfect" voices. Them are boring. Better an "average" voice but which deliver feelings. Which can make u laugh, smile and gives you goosebumps. And Yesung have this voice. From first to last note. U don't need trans, u feel what he feels, and this is an amazing voice and the most important point. What use of someone who can take high notes or have the best technic, but put u asleep. There are plenty of such singer and not only in kpop. 

That's y I love Yesung in every kind, he is not perfect. And exactly that's what I love in him.

Yes, it was, but the song of 3round wasn't good chosen and was kind of boring and w/o giving potential for Yesung to show himself.

But 2nd round couldn't be more perfect.

The analysts are not biased. The earlier analysis were badly written, but they've gotten a lot better since last year. And they are still working on revising them. I'm sure of what I'm talking about b/c I've been comparing their reviews with other reviews. More or less, people come to the same conclusion about which singer has the best technique.

That's not fair that you are holding it against them when they objectively review some of their own favorite singers as average or below (Tiffany, Onew, Krystal, Daesung etc.). How are they bias when they acknowledge that Kyuhyun is the best male idol vocalist even though there are so many that call his voice "boring and lazy"? It's just an analysis, nothing more, nothing less. But pls, don't degrade their work. I used to be salty, too, you know, but realized that the team doesn't want to make us mad. They are not there to spoil our enjoyment of our favorite singers. They are merely there to teach fans who are interested in vocals - like me. It doesn't make me love Yesung any less- though a bit more worried b/c even I have noticed that his voice has been having issues since last year.

 

Everything else what you say is true anyways. Yesung's not perfect, but for us fans his voice is emotive. Lots of singers sing with perfect technique, but can overdo it.

 

 

 

 

I am one of the ppl who think Kyus voice is boring. And what I wrote before is not whole, but mostly referring to him. I don't care abt technique. Its boring to me. The only thing I care are feelings, and I have a big problem with Kyus voice. I don't want a fight, and its a preference thing. I prefer Yesungs and Wookies voice ( color) to Kyus and I don't care for technique. Its not the important part for me. That's y I don't read the analysis, they don't interess me and will not change my preference or opinion. I acknowledge that Kyu or who ever might have a better technique or can take higher notes as Yesung, but it don't change the fact that I ever will prefer others to Kyu coz other can deliver feeling better to me. So I agree I shouldn't make the work of analyst bad, yet the analysis is pointless to me and change nothing in the end. 

Yesung voice is perfect coz of feelings, emotions and coz its even not perfect. 

 

Yes many rlly overdo. Especially the one with musical graduation who try to sing pop. 

 

And Onew is my SHINee bias, so he and Jjong are the last ones I would have smg against.

His comment at the fansign made me a bit mad. I don't want him to back away like he doesn't belong there. He worked hard on this, but his audience is kind of odd -- aging out of the kpop idol demographic while he hasn't finished transitioning into a serious singer image. IMO he needs to keep doing that work until he's regarded with the stature of non-idol singers and if he backs off now, his debut will be forgotten by the public.

 

Totally agree about the 3rd song. It had a happy mood but the range was so narrow. He should have picked the song himself.

Its not abt he belong there or not, its abt money SM don't want to invest in promotion. If the charts and sales aren't this good, they don't want to pay. Not that SM ever like to pay.. 

 

Only his victim role slowly begin to nerve. I know it hurts to him and I feel his disappointment, but he should stand up and fight. But instead he still whinny and don't come out of the victim role. Sry to say it.

 

I disagree. All people are biased. One can use the language of 'science' and objectivity as evidence to support anything (in the way that statistics are more false than damned lies). One example: for Yesung's analysis in the agility section, the analyst used clips from 8-9 years ago. He has sung live quite a lot since 2006-2007 and gained more control over time and clips aren't hard to find. The selection of evidence, the focus of the analyst all are shaped by bias. If they don't define their standards of agility using metronome speeds, how would you know what is objectively meant by fast or slow? I don't happen to see perfect agreement among analysts but that could be a disparity in their skill or maybe also their subjective biases coming into play.

 

Personally, I find Kyuhyun's tone really beautiful until his vibrato kicks in. Fast vibrato is distracting and grating to me. Should excessively fast vibrato count as an objective criticism and technical demerit since it's measurable, or just something to gloss over like some analysts do? Lacking a consensus of authorities, it becomes a matter of bias, taste, and opinion. 

 

I guess my long-winded point is that analysts might not intentionally be biased but I don't doubt for a minute that they have and exert biases, even unintentionally. I don't mean to bash their work since they can be informative and surely intend to add to the richness and enjoyment of kpop, but I don't think anyone should take them without a large grain of salt.

I have to agree with you again. EVERYONE is biased. More or less, but everyone is. The art of words can being choosen and words are manipulative. 

And abt statistics we don't even have to talk. How was the famous saying: I believe only in the statistics I manipulated myself. 

 

And no wonder they think Yesung is average if them choose old videos. He improve much.. Why don't them choose pre-debut videos than? Ugh

I watched it rn too. And I didn't managed to make it to the end. Its more than painful. Honestly I am shocked. Never dealed with so much mess in one performance. 

 

Yesung told yesterday that he have a cold( same as Teuk. btw), so that explains one part of his voice problem .. But the rest?! 

 

Shouldn't they apologize for the sound problems to yesung?

they louded Yesungs voice and deleted the background voices, rain and fans screaming. And instead of appology they managed to spell Yesungs name wrong. They wrote "YesEung"..  :soul:  :donthinkso:  :wth:  :twitch:
