Will GOT7 become popular this year?

Now before anyone takes this thread the wrong way, I am a huge iGOT7 and have been since debut. I'm just asking this out of a genuine curiosity to know what you think/expect from their impending comeback at the end of the summer.

 

GOT7 had a good year last year. They released 2 mini albums and a full-length at the end of the year, plus they made their Japanese debut with an original Japanese-language song. Between comebacks they've pretty much been touring and promoting non-stop since their debut 18 months ago with little breaks. Their album sales and popularity (mainly among international fans) have been really good, better than most rookie groups of the same year.

 

However what GOT7 lack is a hit song, and as their upcoming release will be their fourth album, it kinda feels like they're running out of chances to release a popular song and break through into the wider Korean general public. All of their title tracks have been good thus far (in my opinion, and excluding their Japanese songs) but none of them have landed with Korean fans very well. By comparison, WINNER's dual title songs from their debut album were pretty big sellers.

 

tl;dr: Will GOT7's next title song be the one to break them through into wider popularity or not?

Considering JYP overall this year has had stellar digitals, the mediaplay will give more interest to Got7.

 

If it is public friendly, it will be a hit

They have good physical sales for rookies, and their fanbase keep growing. So if they release a hit song, it could get bigger I think.

GOT7 has Everything Ready and Set. Fans, Variety shows, Individual activities with Jr getting praises in the Drama and Jackson being the New Variety Star . All they need is a Hit song to Hit it BIG. Fingers Crossed. I hope JYP doesn't fuck up like he did with their decent 3 comebacks.

Only way they get a hit song is if the song magically goes viral: for the dance, the subject of the song, or just by word of mouth.

OR

 

IF they have some kind of scandal..like MIss a had before their comeback to make people interested. but it can't be a really damaging scandal.

 

also the song should be really good.

In order for them to gain popularity jyp has to put some effort in promoting them in Korea like media play, better styling ,more appealing title tracks and longer korean promos

 

If they don't get their break this year they still have next year. Or maybe they will have 2nd comeback this year if they have time between the rumored Asian tour !!!

BTS for example took 2 years with non stop promos poor kids, and baaaam they are popular ;)

 

So don't loose hope too soon :D

I guess we all agree it's in the hands of JYP at this point or whoever is producing their title track this cycle. They have everything: good vocal, great dancers, variety, growing fanbase, sells are doing well, and indvidual members recognition( junior, Jackson, bambam). To be honest it's time their to go big
