As much as I am glad she is doing well, I want her to leave this show, I feel like this show is really going nowhere for any of these contestants. I blame YG for his conceited remarks about trying to one up The Unit as well as his overly harsh criticism coming not only from him but from the other guest judges too and it majorly backfiring on him. Unfortunately, it also backfired on all of the talented stars in the show too.

Sorry for the semi-rant. Some parts might not make sense, I'm way too tired... 

 

 

 

She is starting to get more spotlight. 

 

I initially started to watch the Unit, but dropped it even with me being more invested in it when both shows were announced and started, and one the ones that I was following on the Unit are doing better than the ones I follow on MIXNINE.

 

MIXNINE if you ignore the initial three episodes, the auditions, it gets ok.

The major problem is the editing which made things confusing, but in the last episode the editing was quite nice and the episode was 2h long. So if they keep the new style of editing, then it's great.

 

Also, the show is going up in ratings for the last two episodes. And unlike what some headlines state with the 0% ratings, which never happened (lowest rating was 0.958%, which never rounds to 0%), the show is doing ok for a cable show.

Of course the ratings will be lower compared to the Unit because the Unit airs on KBS which is not cable and anyone in KR gets the channel.

 

Overall, imo, people are getting tired of survival shows. And for me, I don't care so much about what show it is, I just want the girls to be able to show their talents and let others fall in love with them.

 

When the number of votes was leaked on the online voting for episode 4, both Woolim and Hayoung had a combine total of 8011 votes (3403+4608). So combining their votes would put them at #22 for girls, this just shows how little support they had at the time. If you do the math, it's about 600 people voting for both of them every day for a week. It shows that people don't even care enough to vote for them, which takes less than 30 seconds per day.

 

If people don't care for something that is easy, quick and free, and that can help the group grow the fanbase, then will they care when they promote? They need more than "Stan Playback" said once when they release stuff. The group can't survive on so little.

 

I don't want the girls to be in the Unit version X in a few years, like Yang Jiwon. SPICA was great, but very few actually cared, others cared only to say that they deserved better. And the Unit will not bring SPICA back, in MIXNINE the groups still exist so they still have a chance.

 

I want the girls to get some more fans while on the show, so that they don't go into the dungeon for 2 years again or disband due to no one caring.

interesting read from someone who evaluates the dance girls perf in Mix Nine.

 

"Lee Hayoung (Coridel/Playback) 8.5-9 (If this was an overall performance rating she’ll be 9.5. She’s overall the best performer, suits this song well, great facial expressions, but since this rating is based on just dance so she’s a bit lower, her movements has good enough clarity, her technical proficiency can be refined more."

Cool people are beginning to get some interest in the best dancer so far. Hayoung was awesome.

 

Hope she keeps rising in the ranks, but even 9th is quite good. Being in TOP9 gives her so much more visibility.
