Hi, I'm a new fan of Playback! Quick question, what entertainment company are they under?

I'm not going to lie.. the ex-member did not seem like she fit into this group very well. I was honestly glad when I saw that all the members of this group were tall, pretty, with long hair. I love their hair colors and length and think they all LOOK like a group and don't have any one member that stands out for being not as pretty or shorter than everyone else. They all can sing, dance and they all are pretty and tall, that is such a hard combination to get in a group. The ex-member from what I've seen in videos and photo's was not as pretty as the other girls, her shorter hair stood out too much and she was an average singer so it wasn't like she was adding powerful vocals to the group.

 

Just my opinion, this group isn't suffering for anything without the ex-member. *shrugs*

I agree, we should only do the group badge because we don't even have enough photos for the girls to have decent individual badges. Also we need to track down what Entertainment Company these girls are from, it's crazy no one knows that!

 

And I have a ton of won and can donate some if we need it!

I realize that we REALLY... and I mean REALLLYYYY need to find out more about these girls! I think Woolim is NOT from Korea, I think she grew up outside of Korea because her accent is too damn good while singing English songs!

Woolim's eye's seem to be peering into everyone's souls, she's simple irresistible lol! But seriously, it's super unique to see a mono-lided girl idol these days and she is beautiful and charismatic!

Is there anyone who is willing to take charge of getting the badges made and voting on which badge we want most?

 

I'm no good at editing graphics, but I'll help in any way I can, by donating won or whatever. But since we have the logo, we can get at least the group badge figured out before we get enough material to request the individual badges.

 

What is everyones opinion?

After hearing them talk for the first time I like them even more!! Hayoung is so freaking cute, she got all mad after she messed up the choreo lol!! I think she would be great in variety! Not sure if anyone's mentioned it but their single is available on iTunes. I didn't expect that considering rookie from larger agents don't get their debuts on iTunes.

Yeah that's pretty awesome, I bought their song on i-tunes! And if you look at the popularity indicator next to their song, it's actually pretty popular! I think Playback will have a lot of international fans especially because of Hayoung, once they get more exposure.

Sidenote: While Hayoung was rapping she used the B-word and the N-word.. her usage of the N-word might be taken offensively but as an African American myself I don't think it was offensive because she was rapping a Nicki Minaj song word for word. I think that if you listen to music from another country and don't understand the cultural significance of the words, they don't hold as much weight as someone in America, of another race who understands why you shouldn't use specific words. Plus she wasn't saying that word out of malice, she was simply using the song lyrics as a way to show her rapping ability and as a fan of Nicki, she was trying to imitate a rapper she admires.

 

Anyways, just thought I would give my two cents on it, just in case this becomes an issue in the future (you know how these things can be blown out of proportion)

 

I think she did well, and I hope to see her get decent rap parts in future Playback songs!

Yeah, I forgot she is from the USA.. she should have known better. But, I'm really surprised they didn't at least sensor the use of the B-word, but maybe this show is strictly an online one so they don't really need too. I still hold to my opinion of her not using it to be disrespectful but just because she was imitating Nicki. She also didn't say N**ger which would have been truly offensive. I'll let this issue go, but maybe send a message to Playbacks Social media account on Twitter to ask her to censure the N-word if she plans to continue to rap Nicki M. songs as examples of her talents. This can't happen in a public broadcast variety show. Since Got 10 isn't a major show it might go unnoticed but a show on regular TV, it most likely won't. Stuff like this can be blown up by international fans. *SMH*

Ehh I don't think its a big deal. I mean if people don't want other people to say those types of words they shouldn't put it in their music. I don't know if children watch that show but I guess it's for mature audiences since they didn't beep out the words lol

Right, I'm exactly with you on this, it's very different to imitate someone using those words in their music. Korean celebrities in general come from a culture that doesn't teach them racial sensitivity because unlike those who grow up in countries that have racial diversity, Korea doesn't get exposed to other cultures as much. That isn't a great excuse but since she isn't outright calling someone the N-word but instead quoting song lyrics word for word, what she did isn't harmful and is excusable in this instance. However, I did send a message to Playback's official facebook and twitter account asking that she substitute the N-word for "guy". "boy", "dude" or some other word that basically means a slang word for man, because in the context of the song, Nicki is basically talking about a Black guy, but because of the words double meaning it really can't be used comfortably by someone other than Nicki or someone of the same race as her.
