  1. 1. Who do you want Hong Seol to end up with?

  2. 2. Is Yoo Jung a misunderstood hero or truly apathetic towards others?

    • He's just misunderstood!/ His actions are justified.
    • He clearly lacks empathy and is borderline sociopathic./#Pray4Seol
    • I just love him <333

Since some people might not have seen the previous video teasers, I'll just re-post them here!

Wow, this thread is dead...let's liven it up! Teasers are coming out! A lot of people (including me) were turned off by the drunk teasers, but they were totally tVN's style, they do that with all their dramas. I like this one much better:

I read the first season a few months ago and came back to continue reading. Went to Odd Squad and for some reason their links don't work anymore. Seems like Naver put it up behind a paywall? Does this mean there's no way to read English versions until the official Webtoons website catches up? That is literally going to take years, they only update once a week and are just halfway through season 2. :omg:

Woohoo~ let's keep this thread active! Since teasers are coming regularly, we have stuff to talk about! \O/ I was totally creeped out by the latest trailer. It doesn't help that I've just started Bad Guys, and Park Haejin is extra creepy there, lmao. I'm really loving him as Yoo Jung, even though he does look older than everyone else, I think he fits the role well.

I only finished until Season 2, and then I told myself I'd go back to reading once I was on Christmas break, and then they put up the manhwa as pay-per-view. *sobs*

BTW here's another teaser (from last week I think?):

hi! i'm really big fan of the webtoon and i'm anticipating how the tv drama would turn out

Hello~!  :ohbi:

---

Ngl, I'm kind of amused by how netizens are nitpicking the fashion decision that was made regarding Sul's hair. It's funny how she gets so much attention for it being curly/permed and well, messy, in the webtoon, but honestly, looking at it - it doesn't look like much of a mess at all. Meanwhile, now that her hair is looking kind of like a mess (personally I think it's still kind of cute lol) in the drama and is in a kind of style that people would more likely tease someone about, some people are getting so worked up about it and are saying that it shouldn't look like that.

For a random fun fact, I saw on twitter that apparently in this interview from 2014, Park Haejin says that he finds Kim Goeun charming and that she is close to his ideal type. This better translate to intense on-screen chemistry!!!

He's so cute! Pretty sure he's saying something about seeing her at the shop (salon).

Yep, Kim Go Eun is an acclaimed actress, so I'm not worried about her pulling off the script. Now, the script itself is another thing...but I'm having faith for now!

Aw~ :') Are you familiar with Kim Go Eun's work? I know she's only been in movies prior to CITT, but I was hoping to check out at least one of her projects before CITT airs. Do you have any recs?

the drama's going to premier on january 4th not 16th

it's kinda weird that they made hongsul's teaser a love triangle

Yeah, it is, but it's probably more for non-readers of the webtoon. They're guaranteed that readers will likely tune in to see if the drama is as bad as they expect (at the least, lol). At least a love triangle is something that can be more easily digested by someone who has like zero familiarity with what goes on in the webtoon.

...or at least, this is what I'm hoping, lol. Beyond CITT, I'm not much of a fan of love triangles, though I'm definitely expecting for that to kind of play out in the drama in some ways. I just hope they don't push it too much.

If you have Netflix definitely check out Monster, it has Lee Min Ki too. She was also given a lot of acclaim for her role in Muse but the subject is controversial and may not be for everyone so do read the synopsis before watching.

OIC! Thank you so much!  :ohbi: <3

I agree with bluesclues, Monster (a thriller) is an easy watch. She was also in A Coin Locker Girl (a crime movie I think) which I haven't seen. Her breakthrough hit was A Muse, which really wasn't my style. Good acting from her though. It's about the love affair of a girl with a very old man and has some explicit and uncomfortable sex scenes. The theme is supposed to be a young woman coming into her sexuality and learning about herself but I found it gratuitous.

Tangent, but I've never understood why there's so many Korean films with this Lolita setup, always with these graphic sex scenes. I'm thinking of Scarlet Innocence, which follows a similar storyline. The obsession is unsettling.

Anyway, Kim Go Eun's projects have not been my cup of tea thus far, but I like her as an actress. I'm interested in seeing her in CITT.

Yeah...from movies to music, the lolita obsession that SK has is quite unsettling tbh. I checked out a bit of A Muse since it's the one project of hers that I found most easily, and I can see why you found a lot of the explicit scenes to be gratuitous. x_x

[bTS + INTERVIEWS]

:rlytearpls: I'm so excited.

Also, Seo Kang Joon & Lee Sung Kyung have filmed for an upcoming episode of tvN's Taxi. I don't know why, but in the article translations I've seen, they're mentioned to be leads, even though they're not, lol. But anyway! I look forward to seeing what the two of them will share. XD

Nice but no lead interviews in this video  :._.:

I can't wait for it!

Maybe they're keeping some mystery for them?

Sigh. Right now I am so hyped for the drama to finally come. I've really come to like the cast (though I never really had much of a problem with their casting, lol), and I also like what I'm seeing. ;___;

I know the male lead is a good actor but I'm not feeling him yet. I love the choice for the rest of the characters though, especially the female lead. But yeah, I'm sure I will like him when it starts.

Hopefully you will like him better~

I like him, but I also can't help but keep noticing how he looks older than everyone.

Well by the kdrama system, they are the second leads so that's probably what they were referencing haha. Although from as far as I got in the webtoon, In Ha was barely around then. I wonder if she's more prominent in season 3 or if they beefed up her part to more closely fit the kdrama style of the love square.

Yeah! I only got up until finishing the second season, and she wasn't really there all that much, but from the bits I've seen from the chapters of the other seasons, it seems Inha has a bigger role and becomes more of a regular character. Since they're showing a lot of Inha in the teasers, I'm assuming that they'll try to incorporate her more into the overall story...but hopefully because her character is interesting and not because they want to play up a love square. >.>

I finished watching the episode! I'll have a few comments and then some other stuff I'll leave in spoilers. ^^

Casting still feels pretty good for me. LSK needs to tone things down a bit, but we'll see where things go. They did write in a lot more cuteness for Eun Taek, but seeing as his character was able to still function as a friend and not some obsessed admirer, I'm okay with the change as long as they still give him some moments with depth. I think the trio's dynamic is nice as well. I still love this Eun Taek moment and would love to see it come to life, but idk if it'll make it onto the show, lol. Also...Park Haejin is really good with the sly psycho killer Jung looks, lol.

I'm pretty happy with the changes on the show...but the flashbacks could've been worked in better I think, haha. It wasn't really that obvious they were flashbacks and made the storyline rather confusing for a non-reader imo. The scene with Sang Chul eating dinner by himself was quite ;___; though despite what he did, and I'm glad that they decided to put it in.

The Baek siblings were brought in pretty early, but I'm not surprised about that. I'm curious about what stuff they're going to end up taking and avoiding in the drama...it seems like they're not going for the study session thing anymore (the one where Seol was the only girl, and people thought she joined the group just for Jung).

Seol getting attacked by the homeless person and the whole incident with Young Gon liking Seol are pretty important too, so I hope they don't leave those out. I also hope they don't ignore Seol's life as a student since so much of the drama is about that! The part where she did all her group work by herself and still got a low grade is very relateable for many people I think. T__T

Also, I can't wait for Seol to meet her neighbor too!!!

I'm binge-reading the webcomic right now and I gotta say I AM HOOKED. I love how most of the characters are actually really normal and make a lot of sense (on season 2 episode 11 aka chapter 62 atm) Like Ahyoung being thoughtful, and even the random classmates being super normal (for the most part). Also, HongSeol is my kind of girl, she just is so done with everyone around her and wants to go on with life, but of course the people around her can't just let that happen XD

Anyways now I am HYPED for the drama and can't wait for it to be subbed~

AHHHH I FEEL YOU. I binge read everything too last year but had to stop at the end of season 2 because of finals. ;__;  It's subbed pretty much everywhere now, so just pick your site when you're done reading! ^__^

I think they did a great job on the first episode! I honestly got chills at some parts with Jung's sly subtle smile. I was doubtful of Park Have Jin when they first cast him but I'm sold now.

I completely agree. Even in the manhwa when they first explained Seol's past with Jung I was confused initially. It must be even worse for a non-reader watching the show.

Yeah, a non-reader friend of mine got confused, lol. I don't think there were any flashbacks in episode 2, but I really do hope that they can work them in better.

there were a lot of changes but it came out in a good way! i love kim goeun so much since i've seen her movies but she really did great again here. i have seen park hae jin in bad guys and damn he really fits psycopath-ish characters. plus he's more cunning in the drama than the webtoon wow.

i don't understand the hate for baek inha tho. i thought she did well. she exceeded my expectations.

Tbh I think the netizens have just shifted their nitpicking from Kim Goeun to Lee Sung Kyung. I've seen other comments that are more positive about it though, and from what I've seen, I don't think I-fans dislike LSK's approach as much as the K-netizens, lol. I think she has room for improvement, but she's not nearly as bad as they're making her out to be. o.O

2nd ep was so good and that ending omg i got chills, park haejin is rly good at these two faced characters  :ahmagah:

He's really killing his role. @__@

NOOOOOOO THE REST OF THE WEBCOMIC IS BEHIND A NAVER PAYWALL  Why didn't I read it before the drama was announced OTL

Anyways, I watched episode 1 and 2 and I reaaaaaaaally liked it! The cast so far is amazing and are soooo their characters! Looks like they're going through the webcomic very quickly from what I can see, looks like episode 3 is gonna have a lot of season/volume 2 stuffs~

Until where did you end up reading? :O

and bless @ technicolor.girl for posting the oddsquad link, I didn't realize they got their subs back up and running! Off to read season 3.

Heh. Glad to share! Actually, I just found out yesterday that everything was back up and running.  :ohbi:

I just finished reading Season 2...oh MAN I can't wait for it to be adapted!

Season 2 spoilers kinda

Once again, I have to say, that Hong Seol is female main character goals. Seriously she speaks her mind, talks out her feelings with the people involved, is studious, and badass! Sure she has her faults, but she is just so entertaining and reasonable! Like I can count on one hand all the reasonable and logical female main characters I know (actually more than one hand since i refuse to read mangas with lame female MCs lol). And I LOVE how realistic her relationship with Yoo Jung is. At first they didn't like each other due to reasons that actually made sense, and then they slowly started falling for each other in such a realistic way!

Although I like Yoo Jung, he's still soooo shifty for me. I also like Inho, but he also is really good at keeping grudges (and I'm not a fan of that). Man, I haven't been this undecided in a love triangle situation in awhile, can't wait to read what the gang's up to in the next season~

OH ALMOST FORGOT...Yoo Jung brought it up when talking to the pervy thief guy, but he and Seol really are similar huh. Both trying to keep situations amicable, both smart and studious, BUT they react differently to the situations...I shall keep an eye out on dis!

Season 2 was really good, and the way it ended was great. A lot happened, and I wonder how much of it they'll cover. I also really hope the drama gives a good treatment to Jooyong's & Yoonseob's relationship! Overall, Cheese in the Trap has so many elements to it that are relatable and hit close to home, and that's what I love about it. ;___;

I don't know if I want to start Season 3 yet or just wait for the drama to cover it. I feel so conflicted!

he rly is, it's making me wna watch his thriller psychopath drama  :ahmagah:

Bad Guys? Personally I like his portrayal of Yoo Jung better. He seems like a more complex character compared to Park Haejin's character in Bad Guys, though Bad Guys is quite an interesting watch and very action packed! ...I didn't finish it though, but I blame my attention span for that, lol.

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii lol i didn't know there was a thread for citt

I've read up to season 3 ch 57 but i can't find the chapters anymore, does anyone know where to find them?

And does anyone know what dates the drama is aired?

I'm not sure until where Oddsquad has translated (but I know they're only somewhere in Season 3), but if you want to read the webtoon again, I'm sure this link will help you out! ^____^ http://ilovecheeseinthetrap.tumblr.com/post/136583234348/cheeseinthetrap-oddsquad-new

Probably the reason you're having difficulty with finding chapters is because you know have to pay Naver in order to read CIT. ^^;

The first two episodes was very interesting. From the promo pictures I thought it would be your standard cheesy Korean romance set in college but I was wrong.

Glad you're enjoying it! There'll be a lot more to come!  :ohbi:

Here's some trans of character's relationship chart from TVN (Cr: as tagged)

xyiKK3K.jpg

There's One thing that im curious.... Whats relationship between Yoojung & Baek Inha? Lovers?? :wut:

I'll just put it into spoilers!

They're not lovers, but they grew up together. Inha would like for them to be together; she believes that she and Jung are meant to be since she feels that she's the only one that really understands him. However, Jung doesn't like her in that way at all and thinks she's just a burden.
