Basically, within the past 5-8 or so years, theres been a trend with rich Chinese knocking down (at least 20 years) old houses and building up multi-million dollar homes in their places. This is the street adjacent to my grandmother's This is the house I used to see waiting at the bus stop for school (in 2007) This is whats here now (front view, trees were blocking the front view for the older house) But wait, go down the street and turn the corner, and you'll find this Previously (I was still living in the area when they uprooted the house and drove it away) There are so many others in that town, I could keep going on. WasteOfLife 600 Posted June 20, 2015 Share Posted June 20, 2015 I was in Toronto last month. Beautiful city in my opinion. But yes, that first image struck me as "very Toronto" as well. From what little I've seen, there seem to be a lot of really new shiny buildings (with a lot of glass) surrounded by older buildings.
