SM's way to motivate idol groups to work harder

fans always assume that their favourite Group would be replaced by newer ones but Moon Heejun (H.O.T. 's leader) himself said that their Manager told them about it with his own mouth.

Do you think that SM still does that ?

Honestly I can't really imagine the Managers yelling at Senior Groups like TVXQ and SUJU (who have stayed in SM for a  Long time) and most of the Idols seem to have a Close relationship to their mangers ...

but it is in fact a smart way to create more competition which will make Idol Groups work harder (it does not create trust between Idols and Company though)

Well I mean this is just the fact of any entertainment industry, you get replaced once you're not new and shiny any more, I don't think it's about competition really because no matter how much you compete time won't stop and eventually your fans grow old and the younger generation is more interested in groups that are more relevant to them, just the way it is tbh.

doesn't sound like something SM would do. i know you can talk bad about the way the treat or overwork idols, but they've never been the type to create and disband groups that easily.

..but replacements over time are only natural, we see it now, but I don't see anyone up and disbanding a group after making their replacement..sounds more like an empty threat to motivate

Every time a new SM boy group comes out, there are rumors that the ones that came before them were basically just "guinea pigs"

H.O.T. was a test run for Shinhwa which was a test run for DBSK which was the model for SHINee

&

Super Junior was a test run for EXO

there might me some truth to it (the fact that SM was testing the market) but in general it was and still is rare for 2 SM boy groups to ever be in direct competition with one another

after watch the video, its more like mean word that actually try to motivate the group at that time.

Since idol group existance not replace by new group but its more like there will be new branch while the old branch still there. reegeneration always do in its own way

In the end it's all about money. If you are making money for your company then you are safe and your career is safe. If you start to lose money then you need to make money fast or you will be gone.

In the end it's all about business. Idols are a commodity. Doesn't sound nice to describe them that way but it is the truth and SM are really good at looking at their idols as commodities. Which is why they have so many troubles with Idols complaining about treatment etc. SM may be harsh in how they treat some idols but they are the top company and that's because it's all business to them. I'm not saying I agree with that way of acting but it is what it is

It is only natural in business.

I you are a cream company and release a new cream..you will use information received as feedback from the previous :keep the good remove the bad , and then add new things to make it better.

The luck with living people is that they can also improve in time and don't remain the same as when they debut. Concepts change, singing and dancing is improved.
