Queen Namie Sits Atop Oricon, Looks Down on Pressed Haters

The album one OneHallyu user said was "full of duds" and another graded a generous "C+" seemed unbothered today as Namie Amuro's new album "_genic" stood atop Oricon's weekly album rankings. The people of Japan clearly sided with Namisus, not pressed internet anti's, in rocketing the pop star's new project to the top of Japan's most important chart.

By all accounts - except those of seething haters - Namie has been enjoying a very successful era so far, having released several well-received videos, graced many a magazine cover, and gone independent from her old label.

The album's slayage of the Land of the Rising Sun is in part attributed to her collaboration with famed vocaloid Hatsune Miku, whose Sophie-produced "B Who I Want 2 B" struck one OneHallyu user as "not great" but clearly impressed enough in the Japanese market to allow Namie's 12th solo album to claim the #1 spot.

At press time, Ms. Amuro - who remains Japan's highest selling female artist so far in 2015 - could not be reached for comment on the irrelevant thoughts of those who hide behind internet anonymity in shading someone far superior to themselves.

It's not too late to be part of the winning team: buy "_genic" on iTunes today!

Your links to the comments, your tags, your post is all too much  For me personally, I didn't like _genic as much as FEEL which has always been an A+ album from the time it was released till now, some songs on Genic have grown on me like "Fashionista" and "It" but overall, it's not as amazing as FEEL. It seems like it takes after Past<Future (probably not intentional and certainly not as good) but the cover art, the album title sort of gives me that. I guess FEEL was her PLAY and Genic is supposed to be this era's Past<Future but just doesn't live up to it somehow. Uncontrolled is one of my favorites from her and ranks above Genic too  :datass:

If genic is anything like Past<Future, i def will not like this album lmao. i haven't listened to it yet. Past<Future is one of my least favourite albums from her sans the song, Love Game cuz YAAAS

Hmmm....it's not exactly like Past<Future, but there are similarities that I notice. The more I think about it though, songs like "Photogenic" and "Fast Car" are similar in its reference to those pop songs of the past. "Photogenic" has an 80's throwback and "Fast Car", "Copy That" have 60's vibes even "Photogenic" and "Fast Car" start similar but "Photo" with a slower vibier sound and "Fast Car" being more quick paced.

A lot of people say they can hear songs similar to something off of "PLAY" but I don't think so, it is a lot more similar to Past<Future and "It" is another song that is totally off of Past<Future aaaand "Stranger" is this era's "Wild" for sure  :meow:

But you'll probably like it. I enjoyed it, just nowhere near as much as FEEL  :)

It's cute that she got to #1. It was expected. What wasn't expected was how low the opening week would be. It lost nearly 100k compared to FEEL's opening. This album won't have longevity seeing as how it has no hits. The songs from the album aren't doing well digitally either.

I find this thread juvenile. Who equates quality and sales? This would be a better thread if people were saying she was going to flop, which nobody did.

The real person who sounds pressed is you tbh lol

Exactly.

Can you please tell me where this gif is from? I remember seeing the video a very long time ago where the same girl comes out from an airport and photogs start photographing her but the joke was that, from what I can remember, they didn't mean to photograph her but were waiting for some other celeb then she starts freaking out and being really dramatic

It's the Koda thread all over again.  I do wonder what it is about the 2 though, I mean you didn't see threads like this when Mariya Takeuchi went number one with TRAD (it would be hilarious to see Ryu do this though) or any other female soloist these last 2 years.

Their fans are very... similar. Must be the music.

Thanks for linking my comment btw, I still see your comprehension skills are still lacking behind your blind and infantile fanatisicm. laugh.png

The album is still nothing to write home about but I don't regret buying my copy of it. There are some great songs on the album but like its predecessor, this album grows old rather quickly. I hope next time Namie focuses less on trends and more on quality songs that give off lasting impressions. That seems like a shot in the dark though.

She struck gold when she released "Brighter Day" and should of contiuned with that fresher/lighter sound. That single was great. smile.png

I agree with all this, except I didn't buy the album.
