Great Escape is much stronger than Chiisana Shokutaku and Nishi Nansei no Niji, which is saying quite a bit because Cinema Staff hasn't released a bad single to date. They are amongst the most consistent and cohesive acts to come out of Japan and they've continuously gotten much better with each of their respective releases. It's nice to see Cinema Staff getting the attention and respect that they've deserved for year now because they've been putting out excellent material since 08. Great Escape showcases the strongest aspect about Cinema Staff and their music. They are one of the few bands that understand how to balance much more aggressive and quieter sound without one overpowering the other. Shingeki no Kyojin has given them a platform in which their music can be heard by a much larger audiences. They'll hopefully get the same amount of attention that Linked Horizon did.

I can think of a couple Japanese singers that have smoother vocals, but yeah, I can see what you're talking about.
