Does Sehun call Kai hyung?

i don't think so....?

Edit:

Since I am not that familiar with their birth date and just go with what I saw in Showtime, I recall that Sehun didn't call Kai as hyung but turned out Kai was born in Jan 1994 while Sehun birth date is April 1994.

A bit of googling also show that Kai went to school with 93-kids while Sehun with 94-kids. Traditionally, Sehun supposed to call Kai as hyung.

Closest example:

In SJ, Eunhyuk (April 1986) does call Sungmin (Jan 1986) as hyung.

I will just assumed Kai doesn't mind. Plus, we had Suho who is 14 months younger than Xiumin and still didn't call him hyung. LOL

ALRIGHT HERE COMES THE SEKAI EXPERT lololol

um yeah he does call him hyung but i think he has some leniency because they're both born in the same year. correct me if i'm wrong but i think he is expected to call kai hyung because kai is considered a late 93'er. but because they're quite close i feel like sehun may do it occasionally and unlike with the older members he's not always expected to call him hyung (sehun is a little brat lmao). hope that helps!

Sehun only calls him like that at official events like radio shows

At anything else poor Kai is Sehun's servant

I think they are sufficiently close and have known each other for a long time that they can speak banmal or informally with each other. Plus -- they are only 3 months apart.

I don't think Kai necessarily gaf about some of these formalities, even though he loves playing a hyung-like/leadership role in EXO sometimes.

Boy is informal af so I doubt it. (I've never heard it)

Only in formal events, like in the most recent radio interview I've heard him "describing" Kai as Kai-shi ("Kai-shi is so and so.."), during MAMA era he had used Kai-hyung. In his letters to his hyungs on that Naver Starcast show in april, he said Kim Kai. The others he would mention as Suho-hyung etc, except Tao.

I will comment on this as another Sekai expert and someone who speaks Korean and I generally agree with you. Because Jongin is an early year yes he can consider himself '93 as well but there is leniency because he is technically '94, and he does go out of his way to make note of this especially when around Sehun. They are both considered the maknaes of EXO and EXO has referred to them that way on a couple of occasions (ie. Growl era radio show--i think it was SSTP--Kyungsoo refers to Sekai as "the two maknaes"), plus all throughout EXOST as well you can see "maknae line" "94 line" sprinkled throughout so I don't think there's any doubt that even though Jongin sometimes groups himself with '93 he also groups himself and gets grouped by others as '94 too. It's not so black and white is my point, I think he floats between both categories.

As for whether Sehun calls him hyung, Chanyeol said he calls him hyung (though I feel like he was trolling) however I've never actually heard the word come out of Sehun's mouth in reference to Jongin. In fact, on various different occasions I feel that Sehun actually goes out of his way NOT to call Jongin hyung. For instance in his letters to the EXO members or even if you recall Ask in a Box Sehun always refers to every other member as "hyung" but when he gets to Jongin he'll call him "Kai-ssi" which is...different to say the least. The only other time I can recall "hyung" being mentioned between them (besides Chanyeol) is a very early interview from MAMA era but that was a written article and no video was included so it's quite possible the writer could have included that wording themselves.

Furthermore, there are at least 2 different fanaccounts I recall from earlier years in which fans said they witnessed Sehun calling Jongin informally (as Jongin-ah) so I really honestly think he doesn't call Jongin as hyung, at least most of the time, but maybe there were/are times when he refers to him that way. However, personally, I think that they are close enough that they consider each other just friends and not hyung/dongsaeng relationship.

My two cents.
