Do you mind sharing some weight loss tips with me?

So basically I'm 6ft tall male and I recently lost about 24lb (it's been a month and 2 weeks since my diet started) but I was wondering if anyone had tips for losing weight. I'm not extremely big or anything but I'm not skinny.  Basically I moved my whole eating schedule to after 3pm. I eat around 900 - 1300 calories daily but on cheat days maybe 1500. I just try to stay under 2000 calories. I don't have drinks over 100 calories usually. I was wondering if you guys have any weight loss tips though. I really want to look good when the school year starts.

go on a protien diet if you want to go on any diets, drink plenty of water, don't eat at least 2 hrs before you sleep, eat plenty of fruit & veg, exercise daily, drink green tea, still eat but just cut your portions more smaller, keep yourself busy so you don't feel hungry, swap fatty foods for more healthier foods etc..

Cut out all sodas, juices, flavored water etc, and let plain water be your one and only drink. Morning, afternoon, and evening.

I recently started to drink coconut water but I never drink soda or any kind of drink over 80 calories. I definitely can do only water though if it'll work.

Well, weight loss depends on your diet and exercise.

80% of it depends on diet while 20% depends on the amount of exercise.

If you eat under 2000 calories, then you should exercise around the same amount.

You should burn more calories than what you eat in order to lose weight/be healthy.

I also recommend that if you want to tone (as a bonus!) your body as well, you need to exercise each part of your body. Not just your arms, but your legs, abs, obliques, etc. This is what will help you lose weight, or else you'll just plateau if you focus on only one area.

Also take in consideration of the fats in the foods you eat. Are you eating foods with saturated fat? High levels of sugar? Try to avoid those, but it's fine to have cheat days.

Food that may have low calories can still make you gain weight as long as they have unhealthy shit in it. lol

All in all, just make a meal and exercise plan in order to get the body shape you want.

Good luck!

Btw, BMI doesn't determine everything: it doesn't count muscle.

Muscle is heavier than fat, so you'll probably be on the "heavier" side.

As long as you have muscle, don't worry so much about your weight. It's just weight, and as long as you live a healthy lifestyle, you're fine.

I really do need to start working out again so I should go for it again. I used to just run though so I should definitely try and add some new things to add some muscle mass. I'm such a weak person lol. Thanks  :)

i know i'm losing weight a bit fast but i'm worried that if i change what i'm doing ill gain weight again

but are you expecting to eat 900-1300 calories every day for the rest of your life? because gaining the weight back (+ more) is exactly whats gonna happen once you change that. thats why these fad diets are very good for "instant" results, but most of the people end up gaining all the weight back

nobody should be eating less than 1300 calories a day. for somebody of your height and gender, you should be eating at least a minimum of 2000 calories a day. Sticking to this region of 2000 calories/day should be enough for you to lose at least 1 to 2 lbs per week (without exercise), which is a very healthy weight loss

losing weight isn't really a sudden thing, its a gradual process, so i would be patient

I forgot to add:

-instead of white rice use brown

And I use something like this to cook myself a meal:

Good luck ♡

I can definitely sub white rice for brown rice. I've been thinking about subbing white bread for whole wheat bread a bit lately too.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't shifting your entire eating schedule past 3PM end up slowing down your metabolism as opposed to having larger meals earlier in the day? Moreover, cutting your caloric intake to 900-1300 a day at your height and weight is probably not helping either. Your best results are going to come from doing cardio/toning exercises and not depriving yourself of the calories you need.

I do recommend eating more and in the morning, as well as exercising right before you have your first meal. Drink lots of water and snack on unsalted nuts and yogurts. It also helps to substitute a meal with a nutritious green smoothie. You can purchase a single serve blender for around $20 and make your smoothie filling by adding scoops of plain Greek yogurt. Here's the guide I follow.

It is really bad for the metabolism but I moved it past 3pm because I used be such a bad snacker. So I usually have a granola bar at 3, eat dinner at 6pm and then something small at 9pm. I'm so bad at using the blender (we also have a juicer but I have no idea how to use it). I could definitely learn how to use the blender and try the substitution thing so maybe instead of the snack at 3pm I could have something a bit more healthy and substantial.

A

196 lb. It's about 12 pounds over the ideal BMI for my height and frame.

Forget BMI. Forget it.

How old are you? And how active?

You're already burning about 1900 daily just by existing (doing nothing). Eat more trust me. If you keep eating like a petite girl you won't lose weight, or get incredibly skinny but unfit and weak

The rebound of a starvation diet is nasty

Single serve blenders are much easier to use than regular ones. Don't worry :)

I'm 16. I'm not extremely active. I dance for an hour daily, I used to run for 15 minutes a day (planning to get back on that) but otherwise I'm not very active.

Okay... without exercise your daily intake should be around 2300 calories to maintain~ therefore eat at around 2000 for a slow and steady weight loss

I recommend exercising with weights so you dont lose muscle mass and slower your metabolism further. Also you are able to eat more because youre more active.
